#91 Understand the power of 3
When trying to figure out how many materials to use, how many scales to use in a model, how many sketch models to make, what number of boards to lay out, how many colors to use, whatever it is, if you have no clue, 3 is a safe number. You want your compositions to complement each other, and while each design situation is different, using the power of 3 gives you the opportunity to always have a “Go To” number.

Epic illustration
Throne of Games - You Win Or You Die by Gilles Bone
Inspired by the pop-culture titan that is Game of Thrones, this design depicts the “Iron Throne” made out of the most popular and iconic weapons in gaming history.
In no particular order we find Doom’s BFG, Mario Kart’s Blue Shell, Pokémon’s Pokeball, Halo’s Plasma Grenade, the Portal gun and a broken Chain Sword from Warhammer forming the arms of the throne. On the back we have Kratos’ Swords from God of War, Sora’s Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, Frog’s Masamune from Chrono Trigger, the Dagger of Time from Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, Squall’s Gunblade from Final Fantasy 8, Cloud’s Buster Sword as well as Sephiroth’s Masamune from Final Fantasy 7, “Save the Queen” from Final Fantasy 9, opposite to it Link’s Mastersword from Legend of Zelda, Soul Calibur and Soul Edge from Soulcalibur V, and last but not least, Nightmare’s Soul Edge Phantom from Soulcalibur III.
