FINALLY! After months the poster(s) are done!

Main reason for the long time is me being indecisive about the colors!

I also decided to design Tommy Merrick and the missing children for this poster.

For Tommy I wanted to go for a design that the viewer can easily identify with, so a gender neutral one was made with a face being covered. HOWEVER when deciding on the hair I realized that I liked both options so I just decided to do both: one white/asian and one poc!

Color palette wise I made sure to look at Pastras art as I did want this design to feel like it could fit in with their characters. To ensure that the colors work together I decided to create Tommy as a pixel sprite and work with the colors accordingly.

As for the children in the missing posters, I tried using the images in the video as a reference (which was a bit frustrating as the gen AI pics generated the same eye colors and shirt, making the characters a bit similar in style). I tried adding a little bit of variation tho.

Since they disappeard on halloween, I made sure to gave them different outfits in the description (which my brother and his gf picked out). Tho my bro did note that their pictures probably would've been them in their halloween outfits so... whoops!

During the making of them I also realized that my artstyle might need some reworking, so that age differences between children, teens and young adults are more clearer. All of them, including Tommys design, look like they're in the same age range which is not intended.

Hello everyone, I am Ghazi Alamoudi from the northern Gaza Strip, displaced in Deir Al-Balah, and living in a tent with my family.😢🥺

My family and I are facing unimaginable hardship due to the ongoing war in Gaza. We have lost our home, my career, and our sense of safety. Now, we are living in a small tent, trying to survive each day amidst the chaos and destruction.

Before the war, I worked as an instructional designer, building a future for my family. But that life has been shattered. We are now desperate to find safety and start over. But we need your help. We are trying to raise funds to escape Gaza and rebuild our lives in a place where we can finally find peace.

Before — This was my life before the war, filled with hope and promise.

After — This is what remains after the destruction.

What once stood as a symbol of hope, my Home is now nothing but shattered walls and debris. I had just finished building our home, a place where I could finally feel safe. But in the blink of an eye, everything was destroyed by the ongoing war. The sounds of explosions filled the air, and I fled with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Now, where our memories and dreams once lived, all that remains is devastation.

fidaa is a 29 year old woman from gaza with two very young children, muhammed and sila, one of whom was born during the war. her home was destroyed and she’s been displaced many times, and is currently separated from the rest of her family- her husband, her many siblings, and her parents. i can only imagine how nerve-wracking this is.

she’s doing her best to take care of her children by herself, despite facing hunger, thirst, widespread disease, and the threat of death. the other day, there was intense bombing near her and another family close to her was killed. life in gaza right now is hell and she told me they feel like they are just waiting for their turn to die.

fidaa and i talk often, and i feel lucky to know her. she’s an incredibly strong person, she travels long distances to find limited supplies for her kids and helps her siblings raise money even though shes separated from them.

but she needs help. the situation in gaza is so bad right now, the idf is preventing aid from entering and the food, water, and medicine available are extremely expensive. please share and donate to help her and her children survive and eventually leave gaza

These are all actual conversations I had with @mohammedayesh . In fact, while I was working on finishing this comic today, he sent me a video of bomber planes flying above them. There is not a single place in Gaza that is safe.
