Title: Put Your Name On It Pairing: Frankie Morales/Benny Miller Rating: Explicit (for readers 18+ only) Word Count: 2.3k Content/warnings: in my mind this is like, fwb to lovers? includes food, kissing, oral sex, a bit of swearing, and a lot of sugary sappy sweetness as per usual for me. But also literally because the prompt was the bakery tells you they’re out of chocolate cake and it’s your lover’s birthday, so it’s a problem because chocolate’s their favorite (from this list). Unbetaed, but thanks as always to @fleetwoodmactshirt and @mourningbirds1 for graciously being my sounding boards and inspiration.

  Benny’s never made a cake before, but he’s pretty sure the batter shouldn’t look this… lumpy. The recipe says beat until smooth, so actually, he’s certain that he’s gotten something wrong.

“Maybe I didn’t sift the flour right,” he mutters, frowning down at the sad contents of his mixing bowl. From his spot leaning against the other end of the counter, Will shrugs. That’s been his main contribution this afternoon, aside from giving Benny a ride because his car’s in the shop. Not that Ben thinks his brother has a trove of hidden baking expertise he’s withholding, but it would be nice to receive some input beyond an unhelpful, suspiciously amused-looking shrug every time he asks a question. Will seems all too content to let Benny crash and burn.

God, he hopes this doesn’t burn. If he even gets it in the oven.

Trans Joy Writing/Art Event

Hello everyone!

Me, @perotovar @sp00kymulderr and @qveerthe0ry are so excited to announce our Trans Joy event! While this is geared more towards the Pedro Pascal Fandom, this event is open to everyone! 

(Plz rb for a wider reach)

We’ve heard from people that they have been curious about writing trangender representation, but are unsure how to start or are scared of doing it wrong, or even being offensive or incorrect. We understand it can be intimidating at first, so we created this event to help make it accessible to everyone. At the end of the info and rules, you’ll find links to terms, information on transitioning and articles on queer theory as well as links to multi-cultural trans perspectives.

We will also be offering judgement free good faith sensitivity reads so you can get your piece checked out if you are nervous

Play around with concepts, genders, and prompts

Ask questions to me or any of those running the event

Write or draw!

If you would like a sensitivity read, you can either DM one of us you know best, or you can DM me and I’ll send it to the others and we can see who is available

Post it on tumblr! Make  sure to tag us and link the event so others can see it! We will be reblogging pieces. (Note: Not every piece will be reblogged by everyone. We all are busy, so we can’t read everything. However, if no one has read yours feel free to reach out. It’s never intentional, and we aren’t trying to exclude anyone)

Rule

No dark or incest. We aren’t hating, we promise. This is just not the event for it this time around.

Due to issues around the fandom, you may have one of us blocked, or one of us may have you blocked. We will not be discriminating, unless there is an extreme reason. If one of us are blocked by you or vice versa, interact as normal with the other admins! Unless extenuating circumstances arise, we will just go on as normal. No biggie.

General rules about no minors, no minor characters in sexual situations. We are allowing trans kids, as there is nothing sexual about trans children. Discussion around hormones, binding, etc are normal and fine, we just ask not to get too detailed if you have a minor transitioning. Things like surgery or such just avoid. They can be discussed with adults. If you need clarification, let us know!

One character must be trans, but it doesn’t matter who. Joel can be trans. OC can be trans. Reader can be trans. Steve can be trans. 

MTF, FTM, non binary, demi girl/boy, bigender, any variety of genders are allowed. We’ll have some basic trans identities listed but you don’t have to stick to it!

You can play with a canon character. It’s okay for Joel to be a trans man. Joel can be non binary. But Joel can also come out as a trans woman, if you want. We’re not going to police you.

Again, Pedro fandom is the focus here but all fandoms welcome <3

Prompts

We encourage everyone to write how they are comfortable. We love stories that are just a normal story with a trans character and it’s no big deal. But we do have some prompts that are specific trans based. Again, you don’t have to follow any of these! This is just to help give ideas.

First time having sex with genitalia (I.e, Javi G. likes women, has never had sex with a dick before, first time with a transgirl)

First time having sex after bottom surgery

Coming out

Trans child coming out (I.e Ellie is non binary)

Information

Trans MTF (male-to-female): A transgender person who was assigned male at birth but identifies and lives as a woman.

Trans FTM (female-to-male): A transgender person who was assigned female at birth but identifies and lives as a man.

Nonbinary: A person whose gender identity doesn’t fit strictly into the categories of male or female.

Bigender: Someone who identifies with two genders, either at the same time or shifting between them.

Genderqueer: An umbrella term for people whose gender identity is not exclusively male or female and may reject traditional gender norms.

Agender: A person who does not identify with any gender or feels a lack of gender entirely.

Genderfluid: Someone whose gender identity shifts over time or in different contexts.

Demiboy: A person who partially identifies as a boy/man but not fully or exclusively.

No children are getting surgeries

Kindergarteners are not on puberty blocks

Puberty blockers are NOT the same as hormones treatments

Children are not being forced or groomed into being trans

You have a higher regret rate of knee surgery than you do regretting gender affirming surgery

People who detransition are real and valid and shouldn’t be silenced, but they are the minority. 

Detransitoning rates vary but generally under 10%, and those who detransition, by and large, do it not because they aren’t trans but because of the stigma they face. Most transition again later.

Feel free to ask us about transitioning. Everyone's transition choices are different. Some want surgery and hormones, some just want a haircut. It’s all very personal, as the experience can be!

With this event, and with the threat of defunding by Donald Trump and his administrations policies, we are encouraging, if you are able, to donate to The Trevor Project. Money goes to education and funding their LGBT suicide hotline.

Don’t Look And It Won’t Hurt

Chapter One

There is a town some way outside Laredo whose main street has barely changed in twenty years. It has a faded pool hall and a one screen movie theatre. Next door to the movie theatre is a pawn broker that Buys Any Gold, Cashes Checks and places No Limit On Debit Cards. There’s a diner here too, Harper’s. It’s a dreary place but it’s open 24 hours and, being the only diner in town, does just enough business to stay afloat. On the corner is a laundromat with a little store attached. From sparsely furnished shelves it offers cigarettes, bait and other items deemed essential in a town like this. It’s early in the morning. Still so early and so quiet that you can hear the rough pads and unclipped claws of stray dogs as they strike the August-dry concrete. A woman turns the corner and walks into Harper’s. It’s her birthday today but she’s going to work anyway. 

“Morning Justine.”

“Hey Frances, happy birthday.”

“Thanks. Busy night?”

“Not really. You know.”

Frances walks through the empty restaurant and into the little locker room where Billy is sleeping, propped against the wall. He’s taking his usual nap in the no-man’s-land between feeding the night workers from the mill and the early risers who come in before the day cook arrives.

Her uniform is the kind of button-down dress that the retro places in the city have a team of marketers design for their staff in cheerful shades of turquoise or pink. Frances’s is a hand-me-down in beige polyester, with countless pin-prick holes marking the fabric around the machine-embroidered Frances above her left breast, where other women have unravelled before her. She leans in close to the rust-dotted mirror and presses a concealer stick on the shadows beneath her eyes.

As Frances re-enters the restaurant a man she doesn’t recognise is settling on a stool at the counter. He seems out of place, as though he was looking for the nearest bar but gave up before he found it. He has dark hair that’s a little rumpled, but maybe that’s because of the early hour, or the late one. Though he is sitting she can tell he is tall. Long limbs, broad shoulders. His face is all hard angles, with cheek bones you could cut yourself on. But there’s a softness there, too. Something in the eyes. They’re dark brown and turn down at the edges. They give him a sad look. If he was a woman he’d probably get told to cheer up all the time.

He’s wearing jeans fitted close around his hips and thighs. And a black shirt with short sleeves that show a long lean strength in his arms. She wonders what he does for a living. He has the kind of body that’s been built by life rather than a gym. A feeling she can’t identify rises from her belly and sits in her throat and then she realises, oh yes. He’s the kind of man she’d have had a crush on, back when there was any point in having crushes. In the days before there were shadows to conceal and tables to wait on. 

Frances looks up at the man’s face to find that he is looking right back at her and she stiffens with embarrassment. 

She looks at the floor and concentrates on walking to the counter to relieve Justine.

It always bothered me that so many people framed this episode like his taking her hand was the only way he could survive his debilitating anxiety~, rather than what it actually was, which was like. Just a normal example of two friends sharing a really big moment.

So whoever is patient zero with “he needs to touch people because of his anxiety,” made that shit up for fun and it has gotten way out of hand. He literally has never said that, ever. He said one time to Bella that he puts his hand on his torso because that’s where he feels his anxiety, which had nothing to do with other people. Because actually…these are the things he does when he’s anxious. This is him self soothing.

Looking for the artist!

I'm going through a humongous pile of Mandalorian Baby Yoda stuff that belonged to my late BFF, who passed three years ago. I'm trying to find out what is worth selling so I can help her mom out financially. In this massive trove, I found art prints signed by the artist, but I can't figure out who the artist might be. I'm hoping the Tumblr hive mind can help me find them! Here are pictures of the signed prints and the note that was sent with them:

The prints themselves are glossy, so they are prints and not originals. Also, on the back, they each say "Print #3 of 10" with the artist's signature. One also says 2020.

The envelope they came in doesn't have a return address, but this is the postmark:

Royal Mail North West something? I feel like the thing that could narrow this down to one part of the UK is the thing I can't make out on the blue sticker. I'm not even sure this will help find the artist. Just adding in case.

If anyone knows this artist, Scott someone, and maybe a way I can contact them to find out how much she paid for these, I would greatly appreciate it! If I can't find the artist, I'm also looking to sell these, so if anyone wants to buy...?
