Sami Village Kefalonia Like most of Kefalonia, the earthquake in 1953 destroyed much of the Sami village, most of it has been rebuilt. Due to this natural disaster, the locals were forced to rebuild everything in the town from scratch. Therefore, the town is not famous for its ancient architecture as some parts of Greece are.
