Let’s Think Pink Again!

 Hello Beautifuls! It’s been a while since I posted a natural hair blog, but with spring finally here I figured that this was the perfect opportunity for me to update my beauty regimen and share a new product review with you guys!

As many of you know, I have naturally curly/wavy hair that gets pretty thick when it’s in its natural hair texture, and becomes finer when straightened with heat styling tools. Although, I love my natural hair texture, one of the issues that I have experienced, is that my hair tends to get dry very easily and that it typically needs a lot of hydration and moisture. Oh, and did I mention that I also have color in my hair which can easily damage most hair types and cause it to become dryer than normal, as well as increase breakage. I deep condition my hair at least twice per week and also use natural oils like coconut oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e, avocado oil and apricot oil to keep my hair healthy, moisturized, and vibrant. I even use protein packs for extra moisturize, raw apple cider vinegar to cleanse my hair in between washes, and even try to keep my ends trimmed as regularly as possible. So as you can see, I’m no stranger to natural hair care techniques and healthy maintenance. However, my biggest problem is that since I use so many different oils and other products in my hair care regimen, it can be expensive to constantly have to purchase so many different things just to achieve one goal – promote healthy hair. Of course, I don’t mind “cocktailing” my natural oils and investing into products that are worth it. But I do have to admit that it would be so much more convenient to find everything that I need in one product instead of having to go out and purchase so many different things. I’ve probably spent hundreds of dollars in the past year on hair products. There has to be a better way Ladies!

But I’ve got great news! I recently have started using Luster Products new Pink Oil Coconut Oil and Shea Butter products and I have to say that they have worked wonders for my hair! Not only does my hair feel soft, silky, manageable and healthy, but it also noticeably looks that way too! And the best part is- it’s growing and I’ve been noticing a lot less breakage and split ends, which is always a plus in my book!

Luster Pink Oil Shampoo: I’m not 100% sure if this is true or faux, but I recently learned from a Natural Hair Youtube Blogger that it’s not good to wash your hair every week. In fact, the blogger even suggested that we don’t use shampoos at all because most of the products on the market contain sulfates and are just way too harsh on our hair and scalp. Not to mention, most shampoos contain a ton of chemicals that in many cases can do more harm than good. Although, she may have a good point about her claim of limiting our frequency of washing our hair, I’m someone that needs to wash my hair at least once per week. I sweat a lot and I hate to have build-up, dandruff and dryness in my scalp. Luckily, I found out about Luster’s New Pink Oil Coconut Oil and Shea Butter Shampoo. One of the best things that I love about the brand’s new product is that it doesn’t contain sulfates- which is quite relieving. I’m always looking for products that are sulfate-free and with as limited ingredients as possible. It’s so great to hear that Luster’s is now catering to women who are more ingredient and product conscious.

 -       How does Luster’s Pink Coconut Oil and Shea Butter Sulfate-Free Shampoo Differ from other products?

Whenever, I use this product it feels like I’m using a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner blend. My hair feels so soft and silky while I’m washing it which makes me feel confident that I can still wash my hair and scalp without breaking down my hair and drying it out. My hair feels so silky and smooth after washing it, that it feels like it’s already been deep conditioned even though it’s only been shampooed. This is by far one of the best moisturizing shampoos that I have ever used and I would highly recommend that you Ladies try it!

-       How does the Luster’s Pink Coconut Oil and Shea Butter Moisturizing & Silkening Conditioner Work?

This product is AMAZING! You can rest assured to know that this conditioner truly works and gets the job done right when it comes to moisturizing and silkening your hair. The brand’s new conditioner can be applied to the hair and rinsed out after combing through (starting at the ends). You also have the choice of applying the conditioner and leaving it on the hair for 5 to 10 minutes for a longer conditioner application. Or even using the product as a deep conditioner if you apply it on the hair and sit under the dryer with a plastic cap on for 10 minutes. My hair has already started to retain more moisture and appears more healthier since I’ve been using this product.

-       What’s the 411 on Luster’s New 10-in-1 Hot Oil Treatment?

Luster’s Coconut Oil and Shea Butter Hot Oil Treatment is officially one of my best friends! For starters, this product really works and has been giving my hair the business! You can literally feel the oil giving a warm stimulation on your scalp and you can immediately see the difference in your hair’s softness and moisture from just using one application of this product. What I’ve been doing is dividing my hair into sections and then applying the hot oil treatment on my scalp. After that, I apply the product all over my ends and then work my way up through the hair to ensure that all of my hair is being treated and oiled. I put on a plastic shower cap for about 15-20 minutes to let my hair retain the moisture from the hot oils and then rinse it out with warm water. I’m a big believer that natural oils are necessary for women of color since a lot of our hair types require more moisture and because oils promote healthy hair growth. If you haven’t already tried this much needed product, I would definitely encourage that you do!
