Have found myself with mutuals from other fandoms who apparently ship t/y/r/u/s so I’m back on this basically dead blog to vent about how bitter I still am. They really said bully x nerd and people were just fine with that, even though TJ’s redemption arc was sloppy and dissatisfying and unearned. They really had Cyrus stay friends with a guy who only approached him in order to emotionally manipulate him into betraying Buffy. They really had their first canon gay couple (well, as canon as holding hands for two seconds in the last episode can be) be based in toxicity and emotional manipulation and taught all the gay kids watching that it’s okay for your partner to guilt trip you instead of taking responsibility for their actions.
and people acted like jyrus was unhealthy bc it started with Cyrus having a big crush on Jonah without really knowing him. as if that didn’t wear off by season two and they didn’t become close friends and develop a real bond. the whole thing was absolutely awful and I’m gonna die livid about it.

Can you do jyrus with 32 and 13
Hi! So this is only part one of this fic, and therefore only includes prompt #32. But I wrote a part 2, which uses prompt #13, I just did it in a way where I could use for it another prompt in my inbox! So keep your eyes peeled for part 2! And enjoy part 1!
Jonah strummed his guitar absently, his fingers moving through muscle memory alone. His thoughts wouldn’t stop running, his mind replaying the conversation he’d had with Cyrus the day before. Cyrus had a new crush. Jonah had known he had feelings for Cyrus for a year and a half--since he’d started dating T.J.--and then Cyrus broke up with T.J. after six months, and Jonah wanted nothing more than to tell Cyrus how he felt. But at first it seemed too soon, and when he finally thought it had been enough time, he couldn’t find the words, and now it had been too long. He missed his chance. Jonah sighed, as his fingers slipped on the strings and played a sour note.
“Woah, there, buddy,” Bowie’s voice came from the door to the shop. “You look a little worse for wear.”
Jonah grimaced, as Bowie made his way over to him and sat down. “I’ve got a lot on my mind.”
Bowie frowned. “Wanna talk about it?”
Jonah bit his lip. He wasn’t out to Bowie yet. He wasn’t out to anyone besides his step-mom, for that matter. “I don’t know…”
“I’m not gonna force you to share or anything,” Bowie said, “But I’m here if you need to talk.”
Jonah sighed, and set down his guitar. He had to come out sometime, right? “I have feelings for one of my friends.”
Bowie nodded.
“It’s, um. A boy.” Jonah felt himself going red in the face. “I like Cyrus.”
“That’s tough,” Bowie agreed. “I remember when I was in high school, before Bex and I started dating, I had a crush on one of my friends. He turned out to be straight, and I was devastated. At least you already know that won’t happen.”
Jonah gaped at Bowie. “You? Liked a boy?”
“Yeah,” Bowie chuckled. “I dated some, too, after Bex and I broke up.”
“Are you...You’re bi? Like me?” Jonah’s voice wobbled.
“Not quite. Gender doesn’t really play into how I feel attraction, so I would call myself pansexual. But Bex indentifies as bisexual.”
Jonah couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Neither of you are straight?”
“Nope.”
“Wow.” Suddenly, Jonah felt so many of his woes melt away. Maybe he wouldn’t be alone forever after all.
“Now, tell me about Cyrus.” Bowie said gently.
“I really like him a lot, and I have for a while. I realized it when he dated T.J., but I think I’ve probably liked him as long as I’ve known him.” Jonah admitted. “I want to tell him how I feel, but I don’t know if he’ll feel the same, and I don’t want to wreck our friendship. And yesterday, I heard him talking to Buffy about some new guy he likes, and I feel like maybe I’ve missed my chance.”
“That’s a lot,” Bowie nodded. “But sitting here feeling sorry for yourself won’t help anything.”
Jonah frowned. “What am I supposed to do?”
Bowie shrugged. “Tell him how you feel.”
Jonah snorted. “Oh, yeah, I’m just supposed to walk up to Cyrus and say ‘I think I’m in love with you and I’m terrified’? I’m sure that’ll go over well.”
Bowie’s eyes widened. “You think you’re in love with him?”
Jonah swallowed hard. “I--I don’t know. I’m sixteen. All I know is that I love being around him and I can’t lose him. He knows everything about me, Bowie, and he’s still here. I’ve never been very good at opening up to people, but with Cyrus...I want him to know me.”
Bowie sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “You have to tell him, Jonah. Even if he doesn’t feel the same way, he deserves to know how you feel. And you’ll go crazy if you don’t. Telling him is the first step to moving on.”
“I just don’t know if I can handle the rejection.” Jonah admitted quietly.
“That’s assuming he’ll reject you,” Bowie countered. “How do you know he doesn’t like you back? Maybe he just doesn’t realize you’re an option.”
“I hadn’t thought about that.” Jonah bit his lip. “Maybe you’re right.”

Can you write jyrus at cyrus’ house and they are acting all couply in his room and someone comes in. I just want to see Jonah’s reaction.
I’m back from the dead! I’m sure no one will read this, but I feel like I owe it to myself to finish my jyrus prompts….Anyways, I hope you enjoy the story! I turned this into a secret relationship fic.
It was late on a Saturday afternoon, and lazy late summer sunlight flooded Cyrus’s bedroom. It lit the room in shades of orange, and warmed his skin, as he sat on his bed. His head was leaned on his boyfriend’s–boyfriend, his heart thudded at the thought–shoulder. He leaned up, suddenly, and pressed a kiss to Jonah’s cheek, because that was something he could do now, and grinned. The sunlight caught in Jonah’s eyes as he smiled back, illuminating flecks of gold among the green.
“What was that for?” Jonah asked, still beaming.
Cyrus shrugged. “I dunno. Because I can? Because I’m so happy?” He wanted to say because I love you, but he knew it was too soon. They’d only been together a few weeks. Just because Cyrus had been falling for Jonah since the day they met, didn’t mean Jonah was necessarily on the same page.
Jonah blushed an adorable shade of pink. “I’m happy, too.” And then Jonah moved, pushing Cyrus off his shoulder, so he could lay back on the bed, and motioned for Cyrus to follow. Cyrus did so, nestling his head in the crook of Jonah’s neck, which they’d recently discovered was the perfect fit. Jonah smelled like apricot shampoo and fresh cut grass and it took every ounce of Cyrus’s self control not inhale as deeply as humanly possible. He reminded himself that his pillow would still smell like Jonah later.
Jonah put his arms around Cyrus and pulled him close. Cyrus loved this, this simply existing in the same space, cuddling and kissing and just. Being. He would’ve stayed in Jonah’s arms forever, if it was possible. But at least they had this time together. At school, things had hardly changed between them, save for secret hidden looks, because Jonah wasn’t out yet. And that was fine, Cyrus knew that coming out was different for everyone, and he was more than happy to give Jonah the time he needed to do it on his terms. But it was still hard. It was hard that he couldn’t talk to his best friends about his new boyfriend, about his relationship. It was hard that he couldn’t hold hands with his boyfriend while they walked down the school hallways. It was worth it, he knew, because Jonah was an incredible person, and being with him, really, truly being with him was the best thing that had ever happened to Cyrus. And it was these moments that reminded Cyrus of that.
They were lucky, Cyrus knew, that their parents were all accepting and supportive. That was the only reason they had this time together. Cyrus knew he could tell his mom that Jonah was coming over an hour earlier than Buffy and Andi, and she would know exactly what he meant, and she wouldn’t bother them. He was extremely grateful for that. He wished his friends knew, but for now, this would have to do.
Cyrus checked his watch and sighed. They only had about 5 minutes until the girls showed up, or at least, until Andi showed up. She was irritatingly early to everything. Cyrus sat up and started to straighten his hair and clothes, to hide any sign of what they’d been doing for the last hour.
“Why’d you stop?” Jonah asked, frowning.
“We don’t have much time before the girls get here,” Cyrus explained. “And if we want plausible deniability that we haven’t been, you know, canoodling, for the last hour, we have to look presentable, alright?”
Jonah snorted. “Canoodling?” He shook his head. “God, you’re adorable.”
Cyrus blushed, but stood his ground. “You will not flirt your way out of this. You’re the one who wants to keep this a secret, anyway.”
Jonah sighed. “Yeah, you’re right, but,” he reached forward and grabbed Cyrus’s wrist, pulling him backwards so he was on top of Jonah, chest to chest, and nose to nose. “Right now, I want one more kiss.”
Cyrus rolled his eyes, but propped himself up on his arms, and complied. Their lips met gently at first, sending a warmth rushing through Cyrus’s entire body. Cyrus expected it to be a short kiss, but as he tried to lift his head back, he felt Jonah’s hand on the back of his head, pulling him down again, and while he could’ve resisted and pulled away, he didn’t really want to stop, and the more Jonah kissed him, the more he forgot why he wanted to stop in the first place. Jonah’s lips were soft, but firm, and eventually they parted, and he bit down on Cyrus’s bottom lip, eliciting a moan. One of Cyrus’s hands found its way into Jonah’s free hand (the one that wasn’t cradling the back of Cyrus’s head), and he interlocked their fingers. If Cyrus could’ve lived in one moment forever, it would’ve been that.
“What the hell?” A voice, more than a little irritated, broke them apart. It took Cyrus’s fuzzy brain a moment to process the source of the voice, and once he had, he wished he hadn’t. Because there was Andi, standing in the door to his room, with a hand on her hip, looking…not angry exactly, but confused and maybe a bit hurt.
“Andi!” Jonah practically yelped, trying furiously to smooth the wrinkles out of his clothes, to fix his hair, as if he could somehow hide what was just happening.
“Please don’t be mad,” was all Cyrus could manage, anxiety gnawing in the pit of his stomach.
Andi rolled her eyes and stepped further into the room. “I feel like I just walked in on Jonah cheating on me or something. But I didn’t. Jonah and I haven’t dated for years. I don’t own him, or whatever. He’s a person with agency.” She turned to Jonah. “If you want to makeout with Cyrus, that’s okay. You know that’s okay, right?”
Jonah nodded, still completely frazzled. “I know, I know. I just, things were always so messy between us, and I didn’t… I didn’t know how to bring it up. I haven’t even told you I’m bi yet! And I just…It was easier to keep it a secret.”
Andi nodded. “I still can’t believe you didn’t tell me, Cy! You have a boyfriend! And it’s Jonah freakin’ Beck!” She was smiling now, which was a relief.
“So…you’re okay with this?” Cyrus asked, not ready to believe it just yet.
Andi rolled her eyes again. “Even if I still had feelings for Jonah, which I really, really don’t, we haven’t dated in years. My feelings about your relationship wouldn’t matter. As it happens, all I feel about this development is happiness for two of my best friends!”
Jonah and Cyrus let out simultaneous sighs of relief. “Thank God.” Cyrus said, at the same time that Jonah said, “Buffy doesn’t know yet, either.”
Andi raised an eyebrow. “I’m impressed that Cyrus was able to keep that from her. He must really like you a lot.”
Jonah blushed.
“I do,” Cyrus confirmed. “But mostly I just don’t want to take his coming out away from him. It should be his decision.”
“That’s fair.” Andi nodded. “More than fair, even.”
“So…” Jonah hesitated. “You won’t tell anyone?”
Andi made a motion of turning a key over her lips, and then throwing it over her shoulder. “My lips are sealed, I promise.”
“Thank you.”
“Now, tell me,” Andi grinned. “How the hell did this happen?”
Cyrus laughed. “Buffy’ll be here soon, so how about we give you the short version?”
Andi sat down next to Cyrus and nodded. “Short version is good with me.”
“Well, a little over a month ago–”
“I’m sorry, it’s been over a month?” Andi broke in. “Are you kidding me? And you’ve been keeping it a secret this whole time? Do your families know?”
Jonah nodded. “They do. I’m just not ready to be out at school.”
“You know your friends won’t care, right? Me, Buffy, Marty, Gus, Amber–we’re all here for you. None of us would out you, or judge you, or be anything but over the moon happy for you, for both of you. You both deserve to be happy.”
Jonah smiled slowly. “I’m starting to figure that out.”
Cyrus squeezed his hand gently, and returned to the story. “So, long story short, remember when I had to bake all those cupcakes for that charity bake sale?”
“Oh my God,” Andi grinned.
“Jonah offered to help me, and we finished around midnight, and we were both exhausted, and we all know what Jonah is like when he’s tired.”
Jonah flushed. “Shut up.”
“Aw,” Andi chuckled. “Don’t be embarrassed that you have zero filter after 10 PM, it’s endearing, I promise.”
“So, anyways, he just slipped up and called me ‘cute’ and I didn’t let it go until he admitted that he had a crush on me,” Cyrus felt himself blushing at that. “And I obviously felt the same. So here we are.”
“That’s so cute.”
Cyrus blushed further. “I guess it kind of is.”
At that moment, there was a knock on the door, and they all knew Buffy was there. They heard Cyrus’s mom letting her in, and telling her to head to Cyrus’s room.
“Hey, Cy?” Jonah said.
“Yeah?”
“I think I want to tell Buffy.” Jonah looked at Cyrus nervously. “I think I want to tell all our friends.”
Cyrus smiled and pressed a kiss to Jonah’s forehead. “Whatever you want.”
And then Buffy was there, in front of the three of them.
Cyrus looked at his boyfriend. “You ready?”
Jonah nodded. “Ready.”

Jyrus, #22 or #1 !! Please!!!!
I chose #22, “I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice.” Also, this somehow this became a vaguely Cinderella inspired fairytale AU, but I hope you enjoy it! (PS: I’m sorry about Amber in this, but no one else really fit the bill for this…)
The palace was bustling, as servants and members of the court alike prepared for Prince Jonah’s ball, in honor of his birthday. Royals would be traveling from far and wide for the chance to meet the prince, and perhaps win his hand. Cyrus, on the other hand, would be spending both nights of the festival in the kitchen, over steaming pots of soup and roasted lamb that he wasn’t allowed to eat, dodging flak from Mistress Amber, the head of the kitchen staff. Mistress Amber ran a tight ship, and if you disobeyed her even once, you could lose your position–and jobs in the royal palace were not easy to come by. Cyrus knew he was lucky to have the job he did, but a part of him wished he could at least have one night off. Was that too much to ask?
He sighed as he slipped out of the palace and into the garden, attempting to make the most of his short break. The late summer sun was shining, and Cyrus breathed deeply, trying to take in as much of the fresh air as possible. In the corner of the garden, there was a small bench, surrounded by pale pink roses. That was Cyrus’s favorite place in the garden. He made his way over and sat down on the bench, sniffing the roses as he did so. A moment passed before Cyrus heard a voice from the other side of the garden.
“Don’t you know servants aren’t allowed in the royal garden?” The voice called out. “Except for gardeners, of course.”
Cyrus looked up and rolled his eyes. “I have an invitation from the Prince himself.”
Jonah laughed. “I suppose I can’t argue with that.” If there was one thing that made every bit of vitriol from Mistress Amber, every hour of tiresome work, worth it, it was that somehow he’d managed to befriend the Prince himself. It started with a few happenstance meetings–it’s bound to happen eventually–and at some point Jonah had suggested that they meet on purpose. He’d also suggested the garden as a meeting spot, and given him a key to the gate. Cyrus wasn’t sure why or how, but somehow they became best friends.
“So,” Cyrus cleared his throat. “Are you excited for the ball?”
Jonah rolled his eyes. “Not really. My parents expect me to choose a spouse. As if I could fall in love with someone in one night!”
“Yeah,” Cyrus nodded. “It does seem a bit rushed.”
Jonah continued his rant: “And, frankly, how do they know I’m not already in love? Maybe I am, and I just haven’t told them yet.”
Cyrus’s heart stopped. “Are you?” He’d been dreading this day for months now. The day Jonah fell in love. Cyrus always knew he didn’t stand a chance, but at least he hadn’t had to hear about Jonah with someone else.
Jonah hesitated for a moment, his green eyes wide, before swallowing and responding. “Yes.”
Cyrus knew he had no right to feel upset, but even so, he could feel the beginnings of tears prickling at his eyes. “Right, well then,” he cleared his throat, “I should get back to work.”
He left the garden as fast as possible, ignoring the sound of Jonah calling after him.
****
Cyrus spent the next few days focusing on the many, many tasks he had received as part of the preparations for the ball, avoiding the prince, and ignoring the ache in his chest. Soon, the day of the ball arrived, and Cyrus no longer had the time to feel sad, for he was overloaded with tasks. As night fell, and guests began arriving, Cyrus was stuck over a boiling pot of stew. For a moment, he let his mind wander, to imagine what it would be like to be invited to a royal ball. He rested his head in his free hand, thinking of the dancing and music and crystal chandeliers.
“Cyrus!” Mistress Amber’s sharp voice pulled him back to reality. “Daydream on your own time!”
“Yes, Ma’am,” Cyrus sighed, lifting his head and stirring vigorously.
“I’m moving you to dish washing duty,” Mistress Amber sneered. “As soon as that stew is finished.”
“But washing dishes takes all night and I’ve already been here all day!”
“One of the other servants is dreadfully ill,” she shrugged. “You’re the best fit for a replacement.” An with that, she stalked off to another part of the kitchen.
Cyrus looked down at the pot of stew in front of him. It was only about five minutes from being done. And then he would be stuck on dishwashing duty, a seemingly never ending task, as dirty dishes were constantly coming in throughout the night. He frowned. I wish I didn’t have to wash another dish in my life. I wish I was more than just a kitchen boy. I wish I could go to the ball.
“Well, you can’t go to the ball dressed like that,” came a voice from behind him.
Cyrus whirled around to see a boy with orange hair and freckles.
“Who are you? What are you talking about?”
“I’m Marty,” the boy grinned. “And I’m your Guardian.”
“My what?”
“A fairy protector,” Marty explained. “Everyone has one. I sensed you needed my help. And here I am. Now, let’s get you to that ball.”
“But, I–” Cyrus wasn’t allowed to finish as Marty snapped his fingers and magic began flying around the kitchen (though somehow no one else seemed to notice).
“Let’s see, we’ll need a projection of you for the dishes, so the others don’t realize you’re gone. You already live at the palace, so no need for a carriage, but you need some better clothes, and magic to disguise your face.”
The next thing Cyrus knew, he was dressed all in silver and blue, from the thin, elegant crown on his head, to the glittery shoes on his feet, and Marty was pushing him towards the doors of the ballroom. He hesitated for a moment before stepping in, and immediately wished he hadn’t. All eyes were on him, including Prince Jonah. The prince immediately crossed the ballroom to stand in front of him, and then fell into a low bow.
“May I have this dance?”
“O-Of course, your highness.” Cyrus stammered, his face flushing. This had to be a dream.
They danced for an hour, before Jonah was pulled away by Princess Andi, and Cyrus decided it was a good time to get some air. Dancing with Jonah was just what he dreamed it would be, and it killed him that the magic would wear off, and the evening would be over at midnight. He frowned as he looked up at the stars. I wish Jonah always saw me like this.
“There you are,” Jonah’s voice came from behind Cyrus. “I’ve been looking for you.”
“I needed some air,” Cyrus explained. “I’m sorry, your highness.”
“Cyrus, stop it,” Jonah rolled his eyes. “You know you don’t need to call me that.”
Cyrus froze. “Wh–How? How did you know it was me?”
Jonah laughed. “I know what you look like.”
“There’s supposed to be magic to hide my face,” Cyrus bit his lip.
Jonah softened, then, a shy smile playing on his lips. “Magic like that doesn’t work when someone loves you.”
Cyrus gaped at the prince. “You love me?”
Jonah nodded, and took his hand. “Of course I do. I want…I want to marry you.”
“Jonah, I…We can’t.” Cyrus shook his head and dropped Jonah’s hand.
“Why not?” Jonah pushed. “I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice. I know you feel it, too.”
Cyrus blushed a deep crimson. “I’m a servant. You’re a prince.”
“I don’t care!” Jonah insisted. “I love you.”
“You’re only saying that because I look like this,” He gestured to his fine clothes. At that moment, the clock bell began to chime. It was midnight. Cyrus moved to run, but Jonah stepped in front of him.
“That’s not true.”
“Please,” Cyrus begged over the sound of the bells. “Just let me go.”
Jonah didn’t move. “Cyrus…I don’t care that you’re a servant. I’ve loved you as long as I’ve known you. You must believe me.”
And then, in a flash of light, Cyrus’s beautiful clothes were gone, replaced with his usual servant’s attire. He sighed. “You can’t possibly mean that. Look at me.”
Jonah took a step forward and placed a hand on Cyrus’s cheek. “I have. You’re beautiful.”
Cyrus swallowed dryly. “But you have to marry another royal. Your advisors will never allow this.”
“I don’t care,” Jonah insisted. “To hell with my advisors.” And then he closed the distance between them.

for anyone who cares: I am still working on those 8 jyrus prompts I have in my inbox. I have two of them about halfway done each, and I know approximately what I’m going to write for another 3 of them. I want to get them all done before I post them, so I can post them on some kind of regular schedule. maybe one a week for 8 weeks or something?
