I wasn’t surprised that Joe was so meticulous on bakeoff, he comes off as very determined and hard working with everything he does, I remember him talking about how hard he tried to make absolutely sure he got the Agatha role (and Heartstopper, once he realized he actually had a shot), and he keeps choosing to do projects that are not easy, like he’s been going hard nonstop for a while now! It doesn’t surprise me that determination would carry over to his baking, even if it is just for fun/stress relief. :)

yeah im kinda not surprised but at the same time im kinda surprised by the intensity?? like re rolling his dough, taking out his ruler to measure??? and i lowkey found it cool (and a wee bit unfair) that his showstopper was an actual showstopper where his fondant was covering all the cake (WHICH ISNT EASY!) as compared to the rest who covered the top of their cake lol

but yeah joe has always come off to me that he takes everything seriously and wanting it to do perfectly no matter how “fun” this thing is

one thing that is obvious from joes baking is that he is surprisingly super meticulous and a perfectionist, willing to do over things just to get it specifically right

im watching british bakeoff for joe at 3 in the morning…and all that im thinking is gosh he is so pretty 😍

Do you think that in 2022 Bash began to somehow lose the protagonist in Joe's life? With the approach of the kit? I started following the cast at the end of 2023. So the interviews I saw with kit and Joe I always found them very close. And what I've noticed so far is that the kit and Bash weren't that friendly. They respected each other because of work. At Baby Queen's little show I noticed the proximity of the kit and Joe and in that day's interview in the car.

hmmmm im conflicted with this, i feel like distance was the reason for joe and bash demise eventually and of course huge developments especially in joes life but i do agree joe and kit definitely got close but i wouldnt say it was to the point that it caused bash to be pushed out tho!

I find it strange that at many events Bash accompanied Joe? Do you think it was for friendship? I have the impression he was very opportunistic

oh gosh dont get me started, at the risk of sounding hypocritical i did like their friendship but i also did wonder that majority of the time between the two, was it joe that got invited and bash is the plus one. Doesn’t help that joe is super new in the industry and bash seems comfy with all this so it might have been a plus for joe as well to have bash by his side

Do you think that as Joe and Kit's friendship grew closer Bash felt left out?

hmmmm in not sure if you’re referring to a time before or after things went south between joe and bash but i feel like before it was natural for the three of them cause joe and bash are close but with regards to kit i feel like he had alway been closer to joe? So after things went south it was natural for joe and kit to get even closer, wouldn’t necessarily say bash felt left out but more of like, there isnt space for him

Honestly I think Olivia being there for s1-2 was more important… Nick’s coming out journey, the stuff with his dad and brother, the dinner party that they thankfully moved up in the timeline. The “love can’t cure a mental illness” scene is great in the comic, but otherwise Nick’s mum isn’t such an important part of the story. It’s Charlie’s parents who become much more integral in vol 4-5 and This Winter. Obviously wish Olivia could have made it work, but tbh I don’t think this is the end of the world.

Agreed!!! Understood her importance in S1! S2 was ok, lovely to see her in more scenes bt didnt seem too significant. For the third the only scene was that love cant cure a mental illness thingy. And i know ppl wanna see it live but i think its super interesting when shows shift/alter things a bit! Other than that shes definitely a minor character especially if charlies storyline is more of a focus

yes kinda saddening olivia would not be in hs season 3 but some of the comments on twitter are genuinely horribly dramatic and further proves the point that the majority cares more abt nicks storyline
