I keep seeing this guy who kinda looks like Windy if he were drawn in the style of Adventure Time (which I never really watched and know nothing about). Who is that guy

#YOU KNOW SEEKER BOTH SIMON AND GASTER ARE VERY SIMILAR IN MANY RESPECTS #like...in the sense of genuine importance to the narrative???#not to expose how much of a nerd i am but #adventure time spoilers #SO simon is so so important to the Land of ooo where the story takes place #because before it was this fantasy land it used to just be regular earth in the present day!#Simon was a researcher (an antiquarian specifically) who fell in love with a fellow researcher Betty #Their love story is very good but also inherently flawed in a way that i love?#They both deeply cared and loved eachother but their relationship was built on her constantly setting aside her passions or wants in favor #of his. he never even noticed how often his own wants would overshadow hers #she helps him find the Enchiridion (which is this super important book in universe) and lets him take the credit #He finds a note she left him after they parted ways initially about how she'd fallen for him and runs to catch her before she goes on a #research trip. its a big grand romantic gesture but he stopped her from going. a neighbor of hers even yelled him to make sure she got on #that bus but he either forgot or didnt even notice in his panic to reach her #later they found the crown that slowly began morphing him into the ice king at present #said crown has this fucked up memetic effect where anyone who wears it is given power over ice and snow but sacrifices their own sanity #morphing into a twisted visage of the creator of the crown. an ice elemental named Evergreen #when he put on the crown as a joke he screamed so much nonsense that betty ran off #he never saw her again (unbeknownst to him his future self would regain his senses and use a time travel spell to say goodbye to her)#(only for her to be like “wait! i know who I'm leaving you for!” and hes like “what?? who?” and she goes “you dummy!” and JUMPS through the #portal into the future. thus giving us the answer of her disappearance from simons life in the far past)#anyways simon in the past; devastated by the loss of betty is left alone #and then the world ends #nuclear war causes society to collapse #Simon survives because of the crown and it's power #the world is FUCKED theres radiation zombies and shit #he finds a little girl (Marceline before she was the vampire queen) and essentially adopts her because she was all alone #eventually the crown began to drive him so crazy that he opted to leave her behind for her own safety when she was a young teen #oh fuck im out of tags YOU SHOULD WATCH THE SHOW its very good

Okay here’s that thing! Kind of. I gave up at the end and also with hands. I am so incredibly bad at finishing things and making them look neat. I’m sorry. Also I don’t know how to draw babies, much less skeletal ones.

Tfw your own appearance issues make you almost apologize to your newborn son.

Trying to reconcile the inherently conflicting welling-up of absolute love and adoration and “stars he’s perfect,” with the dread of “oh no he looks like me (asymmetrical),” because if someone can look like you and still be so beautiful and bring so much joy, then you have to confront the reality that maybe you can too

After seeing @/epicukelelesolo ‘s Gaster (namely these posts) I tried drawing ⁂ Gaster sorta like that, and it was REALLY FUN!! You can also see how the right side of his face (his right; our left) is a little lower than the other side better than you can the way I usually draw him. (Well. On some of these, anyway.)

If I didn’t already have so much invested in desperately trying to make skeleton anatomy make sense in my fic, I’d take this interpretation in a HEARTBEAT. Though I’d really really have to learn oral/dental anatomy better.

Ohhh really really interesting! I can definitely see how this could fit into Underfell, since anything regarding Gaster is gonna be blank space that you can mess around with as needed. I mean, my UF self insert rocks into the Underground and intimidated Asgore so bad that he gave up the throne HAHA ^^"

As for Outertale I'm really excited to see what you're gonna do with that :0

You ever consider dabbling in different aus of your guys? It'd be cool to see your take on like, Outertale Gaster and Asteri, or Underfell G and A :0

Oooooo, that’s a good idea!! :0 I mean. I actually have a bajillion different aus in my head at any given time. But they’re all so weirdly specific? See the problem is that I don’t know that many details of the major AUs. …but I am incredibly interested in Outertale G&A (might use that abbreviation more often, ur so smart?)

ABOUT UNDERFELL THOUGH—! I do have… something. Preeeetty sure it doesn’t follow actual UF lore though. But it is, like, a darker timeline. Until recently (that is, meeting you) my understanding of UF was, “what if everyone was evil, and/or all their worst traits were amplified?” And this is kinda like that. I talked about it once I think. It basically boils down to, “Asteri is so desperate for affection that she’s willing to become anything and give up all sense of individuality, and Gaster is so afraid of outliving Asteri that he tries to make her immortal by turning her into a part of his magic (a Blaster) via DT and technically killing her; he succeeds but she is now just a floating skull (she looks like a normal Blaster) entirely incapable of speech or doing anything on her own, only popping into existence when Gaster wants her there”

It’s, uh. Messed up ^^;;; so I don’t really mention it! (Also it makes me kinda sad so I mostly think about it when I need to work through a funk or something haha. But I’m open to considering it more… I just figured no one wanted to hear about it since it’s. Awful. And ends badly.)

But uhhh! Here’s what I came up with real quick?? I’ve never been good at designs ^^; so Gaster’s almost exactly the same lol. He’s hard to draw seriously 😅 Asteri’s easy to change though considering that’s her whole schtick. Still hanging off the edge of my bed to scribble btw. Sorry for the awful handwriting

When it’s not 1am I do wanna try Outertale designs! That sounds so fun! Thanks for the ideas!!!
