As a fan of Ben 10 and Steven Universe I would really love this idea to be brought to life in at least fanfic form (This was the first thing I thought of when seeing a Ben 10/Steven Universe crossover on AO3) In the DeviantArt post of this art a DeviantArt user named BJH1999 suggested:

ChillGuyDraws also liked the name Gem 10 but I like Steven Omniverse better cause if someone adapts this into fanfic form there’s definitely potential for other gems that go beyond the 10 alien limit

Just wanted to spread awareness/bring attention to the AO3 Steven Universe story Hometown Bound which is tagged to be in a human New England AU.

Unfortunately the story has been orphaned which is a bummer since I was really looking forward to human Blue and White diamonds chapters/methods to help Steven

Considering that Jasper is stated to be a homeless veteran and Yellow/Minerva is stated to have stopped “teaching police officers how to hurt others” I could definitely see the diamonds in this universe being corrupt military leaders.

Aquamarine and Topaz could be agents sent to capture humans to sent them to a concentration camp. Other Homeworld gems might be more complicated

Just hope someone will adopted/continue this story one day

Speaking of a Aquamarine and Topaz Crystal Gems AU

Come For The Humans, Stay For The Crystal Gems by CatEmpire uses this idea unfortunately it doesn’t seem to end with Aqua or Topaz officially joining the Crystal Gems and is more of a love story.

Really wish this fic had a chapter or at least part of a chapter decorated to the relationship tag of Topaz and Garnet showing Topaz’s more emotional side (a major part of her character in Stuck Together) perhaps having a conversation with Garnet and getting a deeper understanding of what her fusion means.

Aquamarine might be a more complex character to handle when it comes to change but Topaz’s emotional side should definitely be explored more

I absolutely love Steven Universe AU fanfics but there are some AUs I really want to know if they’ve been done before (complete or not)

I notice that on AO3 stories like a Steven Universe What If collection is hidden due to lack of character tags.

And even if these aren’t real fanfics maybe they could be ideas (just throwing them out their)

Alternate Universe of The Trial Arc where one of the other 4 captured humans (Connie technically counts and could work) end up being left behind on the Homeworld ship instead of Lars

A Romeo and Juliet parody with Ruby and Sapphire (Sapphire is Blue Diamond’s court and Ruby is Yellow’s)

A dark comedy AU is Steven is Pink Diamond and the Crystal Gems are just fulfilling their intended purposes (alternate take on episodes which is Homeworld (mainly Pink/Steven) destroying and shattering/killinh any form of Crystal Gems/other alien species resistance/rebellion

Instead of a Red Eye it’s a ship or weapon created by a rebellion which gets destroyed or Steven sends Aquamarine and Topaz to capture high ranking members of a rebellion to be tortured

A idea/AU I wished there was more of is an Aquamarine and Topaz Crystal Gems AU. Nomidot drew comics depicting Aquamarine and Topaz (but mainly Aquamarine) living with Lapis and Peridot in the barn.

I’ve only seen 2 fanfics both on AO3 (Come For The Humans, Stay For The Crystal Gems and Duped) use the idea of Aquamarine and Topaz deciding to stay on earth (although neither ends or already establishes the 2 as official members of the Crystal Gems, same with the Nomidot comics)

If you know of another fanfic using this idea please let me know.

The overall events of the show should play out the same as Blue and Yellow Diamond would most likely still come to earth after noticing the disappearance of Aqua and Topaz (although the confrontation would be less personal)

Topaz’s redemption arc will be extremely short but for Aquamarine I can see it taking quite a while.

Aquamarine like Peridot will of course lose her wand/Homeworld technology but unlike Peridot, maybe Lapis could help her discover her own water powers (a already established power) besides that I can’t think of any other power that would fit Aquamarine (neither fanfic nor comic explores the idea of Aquamarine having a secret power)

As for Steven Universe Future, they’ll most likely be apart of the B team (I could see the 2, technically 3 working as a C team but I think it’s more likely Topaz would want to stay a permafusion)

The Bluebird episode isn’t very important to the plot (you can remove it and the series will pretty much play out the same)

I would really like to see fanart of Aquamarine and Topaz as Crystal Gems/with stars.

This AU, like pointed out by a Redditor and in words of Blue Diamond would also truly make every gem that comes in contact with Earth a traitor.
