Stranger than Fiction

Sometimes, when we lose ourselves in fear and despair, in routine and constancy, in hopelessness and tragedy, we can thank God for Bavarian sugar cookies. Unfortunately, there aren’t any cookies. We can still find reassurance in a familiar hand on our skin, or a kind and loving gesture, or a subtle encouragement, or a loving embrace, or an offer of comfort. Not to mention, hospital gurneys, and nose plugs, and uneaten danish, and soft-spoken secrets, and Fender Stratocasters, and maybe the occasional piece of fiction. And we must remember that all these things, the nuances, the anomalies, the subtleties, which we assume only accessorize our days, are in fact, here for a much larger and nobler cause. They are here to save our lives. I know the idea seems strange. But I also know that it just so happens to be true. And so it was, a wrist watch save Harold Crick.

VICTORIOUS HEART

This year, I initially tried out for the Dodgeball Team for Smart's Entry on the MVPO 2018. We had series of trainings starting January. Trainings were schedule after working hours (8:00PM - 10:00PM), and it was really fun and exciting because I got to learn the real concepts of a professional dodgeball game. Then I eventually fell in love with it and fortunately got into the team. Until my registration for the Basketball Team got noticed. The day came where I have to choose between the two sports and chose to play Basketball instead for I have always wanted to play this sport ever since I was a kid. Basketball trainings were schedule before office hours (8:00AM - 10:00AM) @ GOLD'S GYM Sheridan. Trainings with the basketball team was hella fun and exciting too! Grateful that my teammates are as welcoming and witty as the dodgeball team that I didn't get any problem on approaching each and everyone of them.

Here’s a quick rundown of pictures for a summary of my 1st and last MVPO.

Tho I wasn’t able to play for the dodgeball team, I still got the opportunity of being a part of their team’s boards and tarps!

Even though it didn’t end up well, I still won’t trade this experience with anything else. Definitely one for the books!

1. A group of fake friends dropped.

Ramen Nagi

Yay! Finally got the chance to try this haven. I have been craving for Ramen because of the weather lately here in Manila. Ramen nagi has a very great rating and have good reviews on Zomato and Booky. Thank God it has a branch just behind my office building. 🤗 Lezz eat!

Ordered this Ramen Nagi Butao Black King! You could customize your ramen according to your taste btw.

Paired it up with their chicken karaage. Dope! Too much flavor! 👌🏻

Brought my lunch buddy Maila with me. 😊

Wasn't able to finish all of the soup coz too salty! My gosh. Haha.

Review: Good food and Service. But too salty, I suggest you go for normal flavors only. Hahaha. And a little pricy I think? We spent like 1,200 for two. Hahaha. But all is well! Will put this one on my Tried-but-not-coming-back list, unless it's free. Hahaha. #Kuripot.

Questions.

These past few days could have been the most confusing days of my year (2017). Last Wednesday, I got to talk to this girl from the past again. My first love I guess? “Your first love isn’t the first person you give your heart to, it’s the first one who breaks it”, Leav (2017). Apparently, she was my first heartbreak. So yeah we get in touch every now and then but this week is just so diverse. Looking back again on how things went off beam with the two of us and then there were sudden “what ifs” came roaming on my mind and questioning my bones! Like wtf, it’s been 10 years, why am I still in love with this girl? Or did the feelings just came back because our conversation is something like FRIENDS don’t usually talk about? Hay… (dot-dot-dot)

I celebrated mass that Sunday before Wednesday, I prayed for the health of my Mom and my whole family and other stuff. But this time, my prayers were really specific because a friend told me that when you pray, you have to be specific so God will not be confused or whatever. I tried it this time and asked God for a girl that would make me happy. I asked for someone that would be my inspiration and someone I would fall in love again. Then this Wednesday came. Is it just me or is SHE the answer to my prayers?

After all these questions came running thru my head, I just hope that the answer is yes. Yes that she is the girl that God has sent me, yes that I still love her, yes that the feelings came back because we started talking again like a serious one, yes, Yes, YES!

There’s just a feeling of guilt because she’s in a relationship right now. It’s also hard to say that I really love her because of the distance we are into. It would also be hard for us to talk regularly because of the time zones. Another is the family challenge because I think her family won’t accept me. And to be honest, I think I’ll be a very weird LDR partner because I’m too clingy, I would want to talk to my girl every single day, I would want to at least hold her hand or hug her if she’s having a bad day, I would always want to look in her eyes whenever she narrates how her day went or narrates a story a friend has told, and more clingy stuff. I couldn’t take not expressing how much I love a girl and I can’t always express it online. There’s just a series of considerations before I push this one and if these considerations fail, it could lead to not risk through because I think this will be a toxic one again.

Haaay this is really hard! But my subconscious’ telling me that I have to wait for the right time so I think I will just wait, I won’t give up on her. The only time I think I would give up is when she gets pregnant or she gets married I guess. Hahaha. Oh well, maybe I’ll just let fate do the rest. I’ll just enjoy my single life then. :)

The previous week before this long weekend was a blast! Handled a lot of projects at work and had no time to workout, chill or whatever, it was just pure WORK WORK WORK! (But yeah I still spared time to watch 100 tula para kay Stella coz I knew it was a bomb!)

It’s a long weekend and I haven’t done anything today really. Out of boredom, I created this thing for my youtube channel, planning to be more active in Music, Literature, Photography and all other stuff that basically defines who I really am. Creeps* Jk. HAHAHA.

Now serving! The Forage @ Marikina

So last Friday night, I was invited to attend the Soft Opening of my friend’s Bar+Restaurant in Marikina. The name of the Restaurant is Forage which means Food.

We came in late and waited for like an hour to get a decent seat for the whole gang. The crowd was in full house the moment we came and a live band was currently performing while we were waiting outside. After an hour, the rest of our friends arrived and we’ve finally had our table and started ordering in the newest Bar in town. :)

They offer steaks, pasta, burgers, appetizers, milkshakes, beers and more at a very reasonable price! They also offer bucket promos like 1 bucket would cost around 300 pesos only and you also get free pulutan. We had 4 buckets and I would suggest that you do the same. The food and ambiance are remarkable! I bet your family and friends would love to hang out in such place with great food, good music and favorable ambiance. :)

I’ve heard that their food was featured on a famous food blog here in the PHL. Check this out! :)

Lunch? Nevermind.

So today, I had an 11:00AM appointment with Smart and got to discuss the pre-employment requirements that are to be submitted this week.

After getting all the information and documents needed for the requirements, I immediately started accomplishing it and prioritized the Medical Exam. But unfortunately, I came into their lunch break so I ended up at Glorietta 3 Food Choices having some tea. I was doubting to eat lunch for the reason that I would take a Medical exam and based from my previous Labs and shit experience, I have to do fasting for 8 hours, so instead of eating lunch, I just had tea.

1:00PM: I went to PLDT medical center for my Dental, XRay, Urinalysis, CBC and Physical Exam(which was the most awkward moment ever, hit ask for details. :)))) then headed to Makati Medical Center for the Drug test.

I finished the medical exam and drug test around 4:00PM. Headed home right after because I got so tireeeeed! Well, adult lifeeeeee. But all is well!!!

Going home....

.......Finally Home!!!

The moment I got home, I divulged all the food present in the kitchen and fixed the dishes to not be scolded by mom.

After that, I reviewed my Niece for her summative test tomorrow on Filipino and C.L.E.

Watched some teleseryes and other. And now....

Doing adult stuf again.

Tuuuhhhhdaaaaaaa!!!

Productive DAY! :)

Story ANNEX: I thought about one girl from Shell the whole day when I was in Ayala, expecting to bump into her any moment and ask her for lunch or coffee or whatever, but nevermind. Didn’t happen at all. LOL. Sadnu.

Kudos to Self!

So finally, I have decided to take an offer from a company that’s very close to my heart. A company owned by a co-Bedan and a company that I think would help me be SMARTer and would, will full effort, make me the best Dev ever on a specific programming language that I really wanted to be a part of. :)

After reading a lot of blogs, asking a lot of people, interrogating my family about this company and interpreting all the signs that God has shown me throughout the whole process, I have cleared my mind and decided that I will be accepting the offer wholeheartedly. :)

So I guess I’ll be back any time this September in the corporate world. Now, innovating technology LOCALLY!!! (Because yeah, I came from a company that provides services abroad, Hawaii) Hihihi. Wish me luck!!!!
