I love Oda but man is INSANE for not making the timeskip more relevant to the straw hats outside of power ups
Brook: Literally a rockstar??? There should have been a running gag where people ask Brook for his autograph at every island they visit! It would be so funny if some villains were starstruck fans trying to keep it together during a fight!
Sanji: It would have been great if the newkama recipes came up more than once. There could have been a gag where Sanji stops in the middle of a battle to literally cook a power up for the crew. Imagine this man dicing onions in Onigashima, force-feeding Zoro a stew during his fight with King
Robin: She worked under Dragon for two years, met Sabo and Koala and maybe Ivankov, she probably knows the Army's entire plan to take down the gov and yet it never comes up! Does she know about Kuma? Nika? The five elders? Does she secretly communicate with the Rev Army????
Zoro: I love the idea of Perona teaching Zoro about fashion. It wouldn't have plot relevance but imagine him busting out some fashion tips out of nowhere every so often.
I'd love to hear more ideas, the missed opportunities here haunt me.
Edit: link to ongoing collection of headcanons since some people only see the first four ideas

The world feels heavy and unkind
A hollow echo through my mind.
Where death is cheered and pain ignored,
And silence sharpens every sword.
Hatred blooms where love once lay,
Trust dissolves and drifts away.
Wounds run deep, yet eyes stay blind—
Some bleed loud, while some stay confined.

“Love”
Love is a beautiful feeling. Love is of various forms. The “I cannot live without you” love, the “you've my heart but you're not mine” love, the “little ball of sunshine in my chest when I'm out with you” love, the “holding hands ever so softly so that I don't break you” love, the “you look at the moon adoringly, I do the same, at you” love. Falling in love is beautiful too, the way your eyes turn into heart shapes cause you see a person who isn't even aware of how much they mean to you. The universe has all its atoms filled with love, you just have to let those atoms free, in you, in them, in everything you see, you feel and you live.
Cause living may not feel very loving to you, but loving will for sure make you feel like LIVING! ❤️

How Taika Waititi Ruined Thor
[This essay talks negatively about director Taika Waititi and his Thor films. Please don’t read if you happen to enjoy them.
Despite my best efforts, this post is 10,343 words long. Here is a table of contents for ease:
1. INTRODUCTION 2. CHARACTER – Personality – Funny nature – The way he talks – The way he operates – Power ups – Agency – Side note in ‘agency’: shirtless scenes 3. RELATIONSHIPS – His father – Odin – His love – Jane – Supporting characters – Weapons 4. HIS STORY – Character arc – His way forward – Torture p*rn 5. APPEARANCE – The ugly suit in Thor4 – Shabby AF casual clothes – Gouged out eye – Stripped fOr FuN 6. WEB OF LIES 7. CONCLUSION ]
Despite Thor: Ragnarok (2017) (Thor3) introducing a complete change of tone for the Thor franchise, the mainstream media has decided it was only ever received positively by 100% of the audience. Not a ‘divisive’ or even a ‘generally favored’, but a ‘unanimously loved’ tag was given to this movie and its director Taika Waititi for “saving Thor”.
You have to wonder who were those people who went to the theatres for the first two films if this film saved the franchise because they were both hits. But seeing as I’m the non-existent 0% of the population that doesn’t echo that sentiment of the media, I decided to shed light on how Taika Waititi didn’t save him, but actually ruined, destroyed, and annihilated Thor in every way possible.
CHARACTER
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: there is nothing wrong with Thor being funny, as long as it isn’t at the expense of his character. And now you know why I’m writing this thesis.

if I had a better attention span and knowledge of 1980s feminism I would love to write extensively about Grady Fletcher and his interesting journey finding romance in relation to the writers. I’ll just do my best to summarize my thoughts.
the way they had him match up with Donna Mayberry (whom I adore, by the way) was an interesting switch from the type of women he was shown pining for through the first half of the series. he was introduced to us as the boyfriend of a working woman, Kit Donovan. sweet, girlish, romantic, but not “overly” caught up in her career.
after Grady and Kit broke up off screen after the pilot, Grady was seen chasing arguably career-oriented women—strong-willed, after high-paying jobs, climbing the ladder, ambitious, stoic, or even deceitful in the name of money. while Grady was working as an accountant to simply work a job, these women were focused on building careers; the epitome of the 1980s working woman, or rather a symbol of what many women at the time wished to achieve. from what I can recall, Grady never explicitly said during this era that he was tired of pining for working women. it could be assumed from his character that he and his potential wife could work jobs at the same time, breaking out of what a nuclear, traditional American marriage looked like up to then.
then along came Donna. she was another accountant, like Grady, but came from a wealthy family and had worked under her father before. she, like Kit Donovan, was sweet, girlish, and romantic, but apparently not interested in building a career. she dreamed of starting a family and being a doting housewife. we suddenly saw a switch up with Grady, who lamented to his Aunt Jess that what he truly wants is a traditional marriage where his wife will stay home and cook for him. Jess was sort of like a confidant for them in this episode and realized they’re perfect for each other’s wants. I think at one point after Donna and Grady argue, Donna told Jess she thinks Grady might be upset she’s working. both Grady and Donna are the same brand of awkward and a little dim, and I wouldn’t say Grady is an alpha male type at all, but Donna likes to defer to him for decisions as a couple for the most part because that is what they both evidently want.
we hadn’t seen these views expressed previously, so I just thought it was intriguing that they nudged his character in a different direction. perhaps it was subtle commentary from the writers that these working women were too much for Grady, not focused enough on their relationships and settling down to start a family. maybe they felt Grady’s schtick of bad luck in romance was getting old and wanted him to settle down with a housewife as soon as possible to use his character less. it also should be noted that it is partly because of feminism that Donna can choose to happily be a housewife for Grady and that it is her ultimate goal in life, but also likely in part to her being rich and being able to afford to stay home so that she and Grady don’t need two incomes.
I’m also curious about where Grady would’ve gotten the idea of desiring a traditional American marriage. I think part of it, again, has to do with his streak of bad luck making relationships work with career women (maybe giving him a ‘women these days are too busy for love!’ mindset), but perhaps part of it started in the home. Jessica, while certainly feminist in nature, did not see herself as an explicit feminist. as far as I know, we have no idea what the marriage roles were like in her relationship with Frank Fletcher, but they did live in a conservative Maine town full of traditional older folks compared to young yuppies before she ventured into being a writer, and they raised Grady together. in the pilot she said that she did not purposefully try to weave a “feminist thrust” into her first book by making the killer a pregnant ballerina, but over time in the series Jess did end up growing into feminist habits as an older, widowed, female writer traveling the world by herself.
who knows, I’m not educated enough for an in-depth look at all this but I wanted to explore my thoughts about it. Donna is a huge sweetheart and pretty funny, even if she and Grady are alike as people I think she has him beat in the personality department and acts as a nice foil to his bumbling decisions. I enjoy both of their characters but Donna deferring to Grady for stuff when he’s just barely capable of caring for himself is hilarious. settling for a man that is, no offense but utterly mediocre as Grady? super funny. like don’t get me wrong, they definitely work for each other in the end, but… Donna… 💀

I have small eyes and it is a very bright day. I can't help keep my eyes fully open so they're half open.
"You're wearing the lens, right?"
i look up baffled.
Ap ny to kabhi meri ankho'n mein dekha tak nhi hy or me ap ki ankho'n ko ek nazar dekh kr bta skta hu k ye apki ankho'n ka asli rang nhi hy.
Yes, I'm wearing lens. And dark grey isn't the natural colour of my eyes. They are dark brown. Full of spark and light. The day is too bright and i can't look up into your eyes but when do i look into them even during the dull days? You tell me that my eyes are the most beautiful pair of eyes you've ever seen in your life and i think about how lifeless they have became now when you aren't around.
On a random Tuesday, you tell me, apko to meri yad b nhi ati hogi. Acha hi he. Mujy yad mt rkhna. Bhool jana.
How do i tell you?
"tum mujy yad ab nhi aty, tum mujy yad ho gye ho ab"
I used to not look into your eyes. i wish i had continued doing so. But i love picking up the knife at my kitchen table and ripping my belly apart. i love yielding a pain upon myself that no doctor has a cure to.
I only made one mistake in my life. I looked up into those helpless eyes of yours. And ever since, that is the only colour i remember. Everything i look at, the only colour i see is the dark brown of your eyes.
This city, which we think is half yours, half mine, is neither yours nor mine. This city which is your past, my future, has already turned into a dark brown pair of eyes. This city is a love confession i write to you daily. Because yes, I love you too.

So Regarding the Heroine in a Villainess Iskeai Story.
*note if a series has an official English title that's what I use for no other reason then it's easier for me to remember
enjoy!
A thought that has come into my head recently. And as the title of this suggests it’s something related to the heroine in a villainess iskeai story. Now bare in mind this isn’t super deep dive into the trope. More like a simple observation I’ve come to make after years of reading a certain niche. And that little corner I figured this out was female lead iskeai and iskeai adjacent stories. Usually the setting of a medieval kind about noble ladies living life in noble society sometimes doing things sometimes nothing at all.
I’ve read many those of stories in both manhwa and manga form over years. Can’t say I am expert on this niche topic. In fact a major backbone of the this niche being Otome games is something I very lacking with experience and information. Cultural osmosis from reading this stuff(as well as some interesting YT channels that cover the subject) do I even have a clue to what that’s all about. But that is unrelated to what I am going to talk about. as that’s for someone a bit more versed into those to deep dive into how they formed the backbone of this little genre.
So what exactly about the Heroine I am going to talk about. To put it bluntly how a story uses them is a big factor in deterring the quality of a Villainess story. If they total ignored or missed used then they is a high change that Villainess story is going to kinda of stinky. While the ones that bother to use them to any degree worth something will not come out as smelly. Wow the a story’s use of idea will determine the quality of it is mind blowing right! In this 15 hour video that just recaps episodes of Save by the Bell scene by scene I’ll blow even more of your brain until it’s just a stock.
Joking aside I am going to attempt to make a point about this. To the best of my rambling abyss ability. I will using the two series that made realize this to help make my point as well as use others that can help with. So the two series are
The 6th Loop: I'm Finally Free of Auto Mode in this Otome Game
And
The One Within the Villainess
Because both are a bit of a mouthful to type and to help with brevity. They will be shorten to 6th Loop and OWV respectively. Now this pair are total opposites of this spectrum. And they both end up hitting home of asking the question of just what is the point of having a Villainess story. A Question that only a writer trying to come up with one would ponder. This question only came to me because I’ve read large swathes of them ranging from the good, the bad, and the just plain mediocre. However with the two example I’ll be using I’ll mostly be focusing on a major linchpin for this kind of story. It which is oh so obviously reference in the title of this
Let’s start off with 6th Loop. The Villainess of this story is a poor girl focused to live though a total complete playthrough of a Otomo game. Five lives of misery only able to be observer watching your body reach it’s inevitable doom. Not a bad way to start off a series. It give the reader a good idea of why the lead know the contents of the game so well as well as give them a solid idea to why the lead wants to not walk down the path of the villainess. So what about the heroine then? A faceless specter of the future that were told is important. But once you’ve past the finish line and look back. She’s nothing more then a minor foot in the set up.
Now with OWV it’s a story that asks the question what exactly happens to the original villainess when a Iskeaier posses they body. Well the end up a observer watching the life the otherwolder is now making of their body do. And while watching his somewhat typical iskeai villainess story about a girl wanting the best outcome for everybody. The villainess gets as charmed as the various male leads the girl is helping. And it gets to a point where out villainess see her poser as a someone very important to her. the endless kindness and sincerity not lost on her. But were dose the Heroine matter in this. Well it’s simple thanks to her shameless selfishness the Villainess is forced to surface and the real story begins. And the craziest part is the heroine never 100% vanishes beyond the set up.
What these two examples make me realize is just how important a The Heroine is to a story about a Villainess. And that a total disregard of them misses the entire point of a story of this kind. Robin Hood can’t be Robin Hood without at someone like Prince John around. This doesn’t mean the Heroine has be the bad guy of the story. Not all the time. My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom is a foundational series for this niche. And the heroine is the best friend(and some might even part of the bisexual harem) of the lead. She still a very important character. And a lot of lesser series tent to forgot how important that element is.
6th loop is a one of those lesser series and one that’s been stuck in the back of my head as I pondered about this niche. Not because it’s a uniquely bad one. It’s a painfully mediocre and very unoffensive read. It’s something that you’d have to a back of the dumpster licking freak like me to really remember it. and even then I could forgive for you for forgetting about it or even mistaking for another and much better series by the name alone. But why its sticked was that might be a near perfect example of a generic store brand Iskeai Villain story.
A mostly uneventful story about well-meaning girl trying to stop the bad ends that await her. Maybe even find someone that loves them for who they are along. Maybe make some real friends and overcome whatever personal problems that keep her living her best life. Having all that to the maybe lead up to the happy end she wants. I don’t know it man it kind of just ends with a implied flashes of the future after a bizarre reveal that felt out place for what it going for. really felt like they should have been a bit more after that. But it didn’t get that more. Not a uncommon thing to happen to the shorter of the this niche.
But minor digression aside, 6th loop really falls into a lot of stereotypes and cliches trappings. That a lot of lesser ViS heavily relay on without really adding much else to it. I am not among those unreasonable assholes that think cliches are remnants of Satan’s left nut. As long as I don’t have a truly terrible time, I can be pretty forgiving. And as proud member of the Bragin Bin Divers Elite. It takes a lot to really offended. Btw Redo of Healer is probably the most famous work in Iskeai that managed to limbo under such a low bar I set.
By now you wondering how OWV counterpoints this? And if that’s the impression I give then I am sorry. Cause really what makes its work is because it’s use of cliches. It’s just that it’s use of it’s twist to the formula that helps it come together. And that twist use an element that is often overlooked in ViSes. It makes full use of it’s idea to help make the base for a compelling story. And hell that idea also leaves room for some interesting implications.
That’s the most frustrating part about 6th Loop it dose have a solid base for itself. A story about the fears of control and assumptions is in there. But the feeling a creeping disinterest in the own story it wants to tell just hurts it. Doesn’t matter nothing was done wrong on a technical level. It’s still a D+, see me after class.
So where dose the heroine really matter in this. Well it’s shorthand way to give you an idea if the author wants to really engage the story they telling or not in this hyper specific niche. Of course it not going to perfect. A writer worth their salt can make you forget about the heroine exists at all in a Villainess’ tales. I am just saying if you going to bother to have one present use it. Cause more times then not it’s only one in a conga line of mistakes made. It’s also the most obvious trope to spot when causally reading something. You’d be amazed how consistent it was that a not-so-great ViS just toss aside the heroine.
However I am really not going to fault creatives behind those duds. Yeah I’ll critic they work until I lose interest in it. But a lot of the stinkers are the results of the great and unstoppable CONENT MACHINE™!!!! A terrible beast made of unforgiving deadlines, sometimes little to no real help from editorial. And because the machine deems more and more a lot of inexperienced talent get a chance on the market as pro because they quickly throw together a comic like these. Can’t give them too much crap for that. Mostly because those ones tend to not last long.
Remember the Iskeai Boom from a sometime ago(maybe) was more then just male power fantasy about get many bitches. Some authors used it as excuse to write the pulp fantasy stories that always wanted to do. and I respect that. However, I’d say that machines have since calmed down a bit in recent. Now that the genre has made itself audience. Hopefully all those dud makers are doing fine these day and have learn the experience and have grown as artist.
Recently I’ve been watching this game reviewer/cook guide guy where every video he said to a nauseating level. Art isn’t content. While I don’t disagree with this remark at any level. Content and Art aren’t totally inseparable, however. Because of how our current society works sometimes art is made for the need of content. And artist the try hards they be sometimes do their best with whatever limitations are strapped on them.
I definitely wouldn’t have notice the trend if it wasn’t for the machine. I do think the trend wouldn’t exist at all if it wasn't for the machine else. Or at the very least amplify it. I guess this part me bitching about something notice because I’ve read too much of one kind of thing. And the other part is me bitching about the content machine™ again.
But really its me asking writers to not forgot an important elements that make your premise your premise. Writing is hard I know. But you’ll have better idea of what you really want to do if all your pieces are in front of ya

So - Taylor Swift & Florence Welch both have songs called Cassandra. Why is that significant?
✨First- Who is Cassandra, Anyway? EW.
Cassandra is a figure in Greek mythology, blessed with the ability to see the future & cursed to never be believed. She sees the fall of Troy before it happens but can't do anything to stop it (there's a lotttt more Cassandra lore, keeping it basic here).
In the 1940s, a French philosopher dubbed "Cassandra complex" to encompass situations where someone reacts validly & with reason and raises the alarm but is not believed until it's too late.
✨Second- What is Taylor's interpretation of Cassandra?
Taylor's Cassandra remains faithful and places herself into the myth, issuing warnings about untrustworthy individuals that went ignored by her peers, the media, and the general public - invoking her Reputation era. ("You can mark my words that I said it first in a morning warning no one heard"). She's telling the story of her Reputation era through Cassandra, who was famously ignored after giving warnings about the fall of Troy.
She references snakes in her cell, a double meaning:🐍 on her actual cell phone (hehe) & a reference to the snakes mentioned in the myth of Cassandra, where snakes whispered the future to her. She goes on to say, "so they killed Cassandra first because she feared the worst and tried to tell the town"..."do you believe me now?" asking if, after the witch hunts & death of her reputation, we believe her now that the truth has actually come out. She makes a point to say, "when the truth comes out, it's quiet. it's so quiet."
A line that I personally feel is very important within Taylor's story is "they say 'what doesn't kill you makes you aware' - what happens if it becomes who you are?" Changing the famous "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" to "makes you aware" is a very important distinction for her to make. Ever since she was made aware of the shady characters that exist within her world, she has been vigilant in order to protect herself, her art, and her integrity. Next, she worries that the struggles she went through will define her in the same way that Cassandra's struggles continue to define her today, which we've seen carry over thematically in albums she's released since Reputation.
In her outro, she reiterates: "When the first stone's thrown, they're screaming. In the streets, there's a raging riot. When it's BURN THE BITCH, they're shrieking... when the truth comes out, it's quiet. It's so quiet." Taylor Swift has not forgotten the volume of the voices that condemned her, or their apparent silence (lack of apology?) in the aftermath.
✨Third- What is Florence's interpretation of Cassandra?
Florence's Cassandra is a told a bit more in abstract, and comes after Florence believed that the music she was writing, as well as her own personal wishes pre-pandemic, seemed to call upon her the isolation that came during the pandemic.
She starts with, "I used to see the future and now I see nothing"..."Crying like Cassandra, I used to tell the future but they cut out my tongue" and tells a story of a Cassandra who had the gift of foresight, was cursed, and then was ultimately stripped of it & left to cope in the aftermath. Combined with the uncertainty & loneliness felt during the early months of quarantine, Florence's Cassandra is blinded, condemned, and left to question how she fits into the world crumbling around her.

Obsessed with how buggy kept his apprenticeship with Roger a secret. You'd think a guy who calls himself flashy would be as vocal as possible about his captain, the adventures they had, his connection to an emperor. But no, he never talked about it, and it's not just because he's a coward.
Buggy stayed in the same sea where his captain was killed for over a decade, the weakest sea in the world. He sought a lesser treasure no one cared about, terrorized small towns that couldn't fight back, didn't stay in contact with his former crew. These aren't the actions of a man seeking fame and fortune. If anything, he was actively sweeping himself under the rug of history.
Buggy wasn't biding his time in east blue, he was hiding. And now we know he was hiding because he didn't believe he deserved to chase his real dreams when Shanks existed, who had so much potential. So he stayed stagnant and comfortable in his little corner of the world, pretending he was satisfied, until a rubber boy jolted him out of his complacency, wearing a familiar straw hat...

I want to drown myself in my sorrow
I feel at peace when I’m miserable
I don’t know if that makes me a sadist or not,
All I know is that I can be myself at my darkest.

『World Heroes 2 Jet & The King of Fighters '97』 Zeus & Orochi Yashiro
Zeus' intro/taunt animation and Orochi Yashiro's standing animation look pretty similar and after making a few modification to them, they look even more alike.
For this comparison, I removed a few frames from Zeus's stance and reversed the animation on Orochi Yashiro's. You’re getting sleepy… ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 --- SOURCES ↴ The King of Fighters '97 (Neo Geo) Parched Earth stage uploaded by @the2dstagesfg (tumblr) Savage Reign (Neo Geo) Lava Pit stage uploaded by @the2dstagesfg (tumblr) World Heroes Perfect (Neo Geo) Genesis stage uploaded by @the2dstagesfg (tumblr)

I had to take a mental health break so i have no posted in a while!!!! But im back! Ready to catch up on work....
1st up I present to you this new EP by @jayfive666 titled Arsenal. This EP is SOLID! What a great way to kick the new wave into gear. This 4 piece weapon of mass destruction is so refreshing. A genuine take what Trap Metal really is. First off the beats on this EP all feature Trap elements PLUS Metal elements. If there is no metal in there, and its just someone screaming over a beat, its not really Trap Metal, but this release by JayFive 6 stands true to the Trap Metal wave. His lyrics are heavy and fast with a very “hood” tone to his lyricisms. Boasting a distinct style of Drill energy complimented by classic trap samples in between. Every sound, loud and up front, scratching every itch I have as a mutli genre listener. All 4 tracks on this EP are solid, none of theme slacking in the slightest. Id be keen to hear a full EP of these sounds specifically. I’d also like to add that every feature on this release matched his energy and nobody fell behind or threw off the flow of the record. I give this EP a perfect 10 out of 10. Watch out, you better have JayFive 6 on your radar. He’s clearly a force to be reckoned with. Arsenal, out now on all platforms! Check it out. Add it to your playlists. Leave him a comment and let him know what you think!
