Also should be noted that his bias is especially against women that he considers “naive” or maybe a better word would be “uninformed”.

Gloria doesn’t know the stress he’s under to maintain the Pitt, Collins can’t believe he would alter a fetal measurement test or push a procedure against the rules, McKay is indignant he won’t call the police on one kid who clearly has mental health problems, Mohan can’t pick up the pace when he’s seen time and again that she’ll get left behind, and Santos is bugging him about Langdon when they clearly can’t kick him to the curb when they need him so badly. Oh, and Dana CANT LEAVE! She’s the heart and soul of the place! Why would she leave him stuck in this mess? How could she do that to him?

The realism of Robby being a little bit of an unintentional misogynist is so, so important to me. Like he is a good boss and a great teacher, he is friends with women and works with women and teaches women and respects women greatly. And yet—it’s Langdon, and then Whitaker, who Robby adopts as his mentees. It’s David, not the girls on the kill list, who Robby prioritizes care for. It’s the dad accused of grooming his daughter who Robby refuses to report, while informing the authorities about the mother drugging him without a second thought. He reams Langdon out for berating Santos, but doesn’t check in on Santos until Langdon refuses to let it go and Robby becomes suspicious of there being an actual problem.

And obviously we are seeing Robby on the worst day of life, and maybe even calling him a “little bit of a misogynist” is a bit too much because he’s not, really. But he does have ingrained biases and he does seem to only be able to fully see himself in and completely empathize with other men. And that is just. So true of even the nicest, kindest, most wonderful and feminist men I know.

IMO: Robby thinks women should vote. He does not, however, have what I would call…respect for women’s wrongs. Benevolent sexism. He wants to control women around him because he believes that he makes better decisions for them. Collins. McKay. Mohan. Dana, to some extent. DOES NOT MEAN HE IS BAD. Just complex.

It also makes him an absolute FREAK, which is why I wrote the sex bit but it’s actually pretty good analysis of him and Collins.

Because she’s also weird.
