Charlie: I wouldn't go back either. I had to take a small business course before we opened the diner and that's the last thing I'll ever do to further my education.

Charlie: I'll never tell my kid that.

Aoife: I take training courses every few years and I always find them far less exciting than actually working. I wish I could avoid furthering my education but there are so many new advancements and techniques I have to keep up with it.

Aoife: Probably a good idea. She might use it against you in her high school years.

Charlie: Yeah, no nuns here.

Charlie: I just hope she likes school more than I did. I mean, I enjoyed it. I liked sports and clubs, and I had good friends. There was just so much pressure.

Aoife: I figured as much. Lucky for her.

Aoife: School was always a mixed bag for me. Some years I loved it and others I felt like I was drowning under the pressure. I liked university though. I wouldn't go back to either if you paid me though. I much prefer the freedom of the real world.

Charlie: Kindergarten will definitely be an adventure for all of us.

Charlie: Em's very outspoken. I get worried about how she'll do at a new school with a new teacher.

Aoife: Sounds like you ought to be more worried for her teacher. I'm sure she'll do wonderfully. I'd imagine schools here aren't like when I was in school in Ireland where the nuns would give us hell for being outspoken.

Charlie: I've always wanted to go to Ireland. A few friends of mine have been and brag about what a great place it was.

Charlie: I'm soaking in as much of her as I can get. I know the years are going to start flying by once she hits kindergarten.

Charlie: Thank you, I think so too. I had my doubts at first, but Backstop's a second home to me now.

Aoife: I would definitely encourage you to visit when you can. It's a very different world than America. It will always have a piece of my heart.

Aoife: I can only imagine, they grow so quickly it's crazy. I have a niece who is getting ready to graduate next year and I still remember the day she was born like it was last week. It must be so much more intense when they're your own.
