Random Bram headcanons (except not so random this time and also Lovecraft is included)

I feel like I don't have to explicitly say this, but I will anyway: I absolutely headcanon Bram to be a vampire, not 'just' a human with an ability that mimics vampirism.

Don't get me wrong, it's never explicitly stated, but I do 100% believe that he was a human at one point, awakend his ability (mayhaps after he 'died'?) and it slowly transformed him over time. It'd make sense since he has scars that the vampirism would've healed otherwise (post here)

Likewise, although it has been more or less stated by Dazai, Lovecraft isn't human either. The 'human' Lovecraft is his disguise, his true form is absolutely that Cuthulu looking thing.

Random Bram headcanon

Bram actually likes his face scars. They remind him of when he was human, and he cherishes that last bit of humanity that he still has left after centuries of being a vampire.

After all, being undead and needing others' blood to survive often feels like it's stripping it away from him.

If you think about it, Bram probably got his face scars before he ever became a vampire/awakened his ability.

Because yk, otherwise the vampirism would have healed them eventually.

I agree 100%. The fact that you could easily switch "boy" with "toy" and the meaning wouldn't really change disturbs me.

It does explain a lot of Akutagawa's feelings towards Dazai and Atsushi if he really sees himself as someone who was just thrown away/discarded for someone who's "better" than him. After all, he never got an explanation why Dazai left and why Dazai left HIM. He did promise Akutagawa a "reason to live".

I love that we're getting more Akutagawa backstory.

Of course, he hates (hated?) Atsushi. In his eyes, Dazai replaced him with the weretiger, even if Atsushi had no clue about what was going on. It also explains why he was so obsessed with getting Dazai's recognition to prove that he's worth something and better than Atsushi, especially with Dazai pointing out how much better he apperantly is...

Dazai really wronged him.

Oh my god, I didn't even realise-

Akutagawa looks more like he could be Aya's age rather than an actual 14 year old. Poor kid.

Not to mention that him being so malnourished didn't help his health issues at all, it probably worsened them considerably.

Obviously, it wasn't the real Dazai, but damn. He's still hallucinating the director?

I'm glad we got some sort of explanation for it, the hallucinations being caused by Q's ability, even if that leaves more questions. Is it a result of trauma and mental illness? Does Q's ability have a long-term effect? Did their ability just worsen it? I might be remembering things wrong, but I'm sure he hallucinated the director before.

I don't blame him at all, by the way, he was just a child at this point, but man. Dazai really fucked him up. Even their first meeting was him manipulating Akutagawa.
