Lyari Girls Cafe were presented certificates to 25 volunteers for their outstanding services. On this occasion, the youth reaffirmed their commitment to participate in social activities, an emphasis on women/youth and their protection and environmental campaigns.

#LyariGirlsCafe takes an initiative, bringing volunteers, youth members to #WetlandCenter of #WWF for an exposure visit. Environmental protection is our goal. #EndPollution

Well-being and Climate awareness for children and adolescents.

Most public and private schools in Lyari don’t provide sessions on children's environmental issues and awareness. During the Global Action Month, the youth members of Lyari Girls Café selected three schools in Lyari where they held sessions with school children on environmental issues and children's environmental rights and detailed statements about the Global Action Month were presented.

During this time children were also provided awareness about climate change. Children and young people expressed interest in participating in practical exercises.

Well-being

Sessions have been expressed in improving awareness of children's mental health and well-being due to high levels of stress that is currently placed on children’. To raise awareness, the LGC youth members had already made posters to promote a friendly atmosphere within the School.

We also hold a 'Well-Being and Healthy Living Awareness Week' from 22th to 26th November. This involved looking at physical health (like taking part in sports and eating healthy), mental health (coping with stress and your feelings), and general well-being (for example being kind to each other and having a good working environment).

Aim of the Session

ARADO Pakistan and Lyari Girls Cafe have taken the initiative in ensuring children's environmental rights and ensuring that children's rights are at the center of environmental decision making and action. Our main goal is to provide a healthy and safe environment for children with education.

On the occasion of Universal Children's Day 2021, a grand event was organized by Lyari Girls Cafe at Port Grand Karachi.

Minister Local Government Sindh Mr. Nasir Hussain Shah, Conservator of Forests & Wildlife Department Mr. Javed Mahar were present on the occasion. The children performed various performances including theater and tableau.

Lyari's Girls Cafe and ARADO Pakistan organized Universal Children's Day 2021 with support Port Grand and Terre des Hommes at Port Grand Karachi. More than a thousand people attended the Children's Day celebration.

#GAM2021, it’s even more special because of the Lyari’s Girls Cafe's youth and children’s feeling and understanding. A clean ocean is the best volunteerism we could give ourselves and other citizens.

To do our bit on this day, Youth from Lyari along with children from Maripur decided to visit the Hawksbay beach Karachi to understand how we could also contribute. LGC youth has been working relentlessly to keep our city clean.

LGC regularly conducts environmental awareness which we all can volunteer in!! Let’s all pledge together to save this beautiful city, country and planet.
