I hate most things about living in the south but I'm only like a 1-2 hour drive from most of the Marble Hornets filming locations and I'll be damned if I don't drag some friends along to see a couple by the end on the summer.

Seeing people redraw their old creepypasta OCs makes me wish that 1) I actually drew my OCs when I was in middle school so I could participate and 2) I made fun OCs

I was so brainwashed by those “Mary Sue OC cringe comp/rant and reviews” that I never took risks. The only character of mine I remember is this basic ass bitch who’s whole thing was that she was a redhead named Rose who made shanks out of sticks in the woods and used them like throwing spikes... I think she also had a partner and they played chess a weird amount(?)

I could try redesigning her but idk if I care enough lol.

I’m Gloom (not my real name lol), a 17 year old who’s nostalgic for old creepypasta bullshit. I want to eventually post art and, possibly, writing. I use any pronouns and hope I can make a friend or two who have just as much brain-rot for this stupid fandom as I do.

I like reading novels and manga. My favorite trope is hurt/comfort for... reasons.

Ayo, what am I doing here?

I used to be super into creepypasta when I was like 13 and the universe has decided to grab me by the throat and chokeslam me back into that hyperfixation, and this is the only social media platform that doesn't actually terrify me to post on (and the only one I’m confident my parents wouldn’t find lol. My mom had had a hard time separating my interests and creations from my actual thoughts ever since finding out about my mental health :P).

I never really interacted with anything because I was, being frank, an insecure pussy. I’m still hella insecure (especially I haven’t drawn or written much in the last several years so I’ve lost the very few skills I had), but I’ve decided I want to make and post stuff anyway.

Boring ass intro out of the way, what’s the modern creepypasta scene like? I was lurking around in 2017-2018 and haven’t kept up with things other than following some cosplayers on tiktok. Any tips on tagging, explanations of trends and drama I should be aware of, and recommendations of newer stories is greatly appreciated! (Yes, your own OCs are included in that. I don’t know if it’s still a thing, but I always found the idea of “cannon characters” in this fandom redundant considering even Jeff the Killer was once just some guys OC}
