hi! will you be at anime boston again in 2017/do you know of any other artists who plan on applying to the artist alley there?

Hi! I probably won’t be, and I didn’t apply for next year’s artist alley because I probably will be away during AB this year, unfortunately. I wish I could, because Anime Boston was one of my best cons to date, but this year was my first time there! I really love the crowd and the con, and the location!! I know a few artist friends that applied, but I don’t know if they got in yet. I think only Pro Row was confirmed? I’ll update when I know more though! Thanks! :)

booyah btw, most of these are weapon and playstyle matchups so these’ll probably be more entertaining to you if you’ve played or are familiar with how the game works

instead of volleyball they play ranked matches in tournaments, that’s all you need to know

(**before I list off characters and weapon hc, just know I’m being very liberal with the subs/special matchups for the sake of headcanon. Most, if not all, of these are impossible lol)

Ikasuno

used to be an S+ ranked team, coached by Ukai Sr who fought in the Great Turf War, but they lost all their glory and are working their way back up to regain their rank

Hinata

seekers (“the ultimate decoy”) !

stacked speed boosts -- fast and terrifying attacks!

kind of clumsy on his own, needs to rely on the team to reach his opponents

often accidentally falls off platforms and into water

idolizes the small giant squid that brought ikasuno to S+ rank

Kageyama

Splatterscope -- very skilled sniper

Kraken

starts off having no sense for teamwork so he was a lousy player and lost often despite having high splat counts

didn’t look out for his teammates, stayed in the same spot, didn’t bother going after the rainmaker or tower, etc

learns how to play with the team after joining ikasuno!

always accidentally says ‘c’mon!’ instead of ‘booyah/nice’

comes up with weird gear combinations

Daichi

Forge Splattershot Pro I’m.. not biased at all… what…

Bubbler-- passes it on as much as he can and activates at opportune times

stacked defense stats, one of the few that can withstand being targeted by oikawa

mostly plays defensive, so usually not the one that brings the tower in or puts the rainmaker down-- but he’s fine with that!

tendency to yell at the younger members (and asahi) especially when tanaka and noya activate their killer wails unstrategically

Disruptors for disrupting enemy movements, Echolocator for pinpoint accuracy

watches and controls the map well, good at directing his teammates

offers safe super-jump points

prefers acting as backup for his teammates over taking out the enemy

has damage up, special duration and special charge up skills. the powerhouse.

gets nervous and scared easily, so reluctant to ride the tower/carry rainmaker/be in the splat zone

panicks if chased by kraken

but despite all that, he usually gets the highest splat count

Nishinoya

Carbon Roller ROLLING THUNDER

sprinklers for turf coverage

killer wail, often set off with tanaka’s

speed and defense boosts

has the team’s back by covering a lot of turf quickly, giving them room to fight and control of the map

incredible defense but weak offense, just bumping off enemies. flicks ink like crazy if he gets cornered, which often doesn’t work for him

Tanaka

Splatling weapons (heavy and/or hydra?)

killer wail !! sometimes switches to bomb rushes

not as strong as asahi, but makes up for it with his fearlessness-- charges right into the enemy base and inks whatever and whoever he can

but sometimes this comes back to bite him, leaving him open to attack…

focuses more on taking out the enemy, sometimes forgets the objective lol

super protective of his teammates, so if he sees anyone go after his friends he will hunt them down, not caring if he gets taken out in the process

takes it the hardest when the enemy gains the lead

says he doesn’t care about rank, but he really cares

I tried to come up with some sob story about him catching Akiteru in Turf Wars instead of Ranked but it didn’t make sense and it was silly.

Takeda supplies them with weapons, Ukai trains them on how to use them, Saeko customizes them

Algae Josquid

vs Ikasuno -> Rainmaker. Lots of sniper fights, leads going back and forth, taking different routes around the map each time. It’s intense.

Oikawa

E-Liter 3K Scope

SO DEADLY

very skilled sniper and all around player

adapts quickly and easily to his team’s playstyles and matchups, making up for any gaps

one of those “just one more game” types
