I’ve changed my opinion on this. Toxic movements attract toxic people. Surround yourself with activists who actually want to do shit that benefits THE COMMUNITY. Not just themselves.
Ok genuine question here.
Why do terfs claim to want gender abolishment, but then also hate trans people for breaking gender roles? Like, trans people help redefine what it means to be a man or woman — or the idea that those labels are even needed at all.
Traditional gender roles dictates that female = woman = feminine, and male = man = masculine. Any break in that chain is considered wrong.
Do they mean they want everything run by their interpretation of bio sex? Is that not MORE reductive?

“Straight women 100% oppress lesbian&bisexual women on the axis of sexuality” True.
“That said, understanding the struggles of heterosexual women is equally as vital to the progress of feminism” Hmmm. Hasn’t that always been the case? Understanding that all women go through the same things? I agree with menalez. There should be more of a push for het women to call out homophobia and injustices against sapphic women.
And what is this about competition? What a strange take.
Look some of yall forget that straight women 100% oppress lesbian & bisexual women on the axis of sexuality.
That said, understanding the struggles of heterosexual women is equally as vital to the progress of feminism as the struggles of lesbian and bisexual women bc it deals with the axis of sex.
There should be room for healthy discussion of both struggles and where they overlap. Any competition between these groups weakens our overall progress.

I love radfem theory and as someone living in LATAM it especially speaks to me. However, it lately has been used (on the internet mostly) to spout conservative talking points about trans people. That they’re groomers, pedophiles, predators, etc. It’s extremely disappointing and frustrating having to explain that that’s not okay. seeing these self proclaimed rad fems do insane mental gymnastics to say that trans should be eradicated is disheartening. We’re supposed to be on the same side here. We’re supposed to be fighting for the same gender abolition and liberation for all under the patriarchy. I do not understand why there is such pushback on something none of us quite understand yet.
Ok genuine question here.

Transgenderism is a convoluted subject to me. I've recently reentered radical feminist spaces and I don't think it's as simple as "this person is biologically male, so they are a man," but I also don't think it's as simple as the contrary, "this person feels that they're a woman, so they are a woman." Transgender people will always be their biological sex, which is not up for debate. However, for me, the most basic way to articulate my views is that a trans woman is a trans woman, and a trans man is a trans man. They are people who are conforming to what their idea of the opposite gender is based on society. You can't really blame them for feeling this way as gendered stereotypes are entirely too pressuring. But a trans woman is not a woman in the same way that I am a woman. We have different experiences and encounter different oppressive modes that distinguish my womanhood from theirs. As a gender abolitionist, I do believe they're living a false womanhood, but do I think this is their fault? No. What can you expect when society tells you women behave this way, and men behave another way? Outliers of the biological sex will be lost and confused and end up thinking transitioning is the answer.
Do I think transgenderism SHOULD be a thing? No. But that's because I believe gender in general should not exist. Since it does, I'm okay with it since gender is as pervasive as it is, people should be comfortable in how they identify. I just hope more people realize transitioning and perpetuating these gender roles and stereotypes is definitely not the end goal or any sort of accomplishment. The goal should be for people to not feel as though they need to "transition" in order to be able to express their identity. The goal should be to eradicate concepts of femininity and masculinity as tied to biological sex.

I don’t get some people’s logic. When a gay man subconsciously traps himself in het marriage he’s wasting his partner’s time. When a lesbian woman subconsciously traps herself in a het marriage she was actually bisexual all along. Tumblr is on some other shit.

We’re going about this “debate” the wrong way. If we’re going to focus on what’s best for trans kids and kids with gender dysphoria, this discussion should be solely focused on the medical system. What restrictions should be made? What restrictions are being made to continue transition? With the little information there already is on the spectrum that is gender dysphoria, there shouldn’t be any rush to have a child transition because not every child with gender dysphoria ends up being trans. Obviously, not every state rushes children into transition. In fact, many states make it intentionally more difficult to even get started on hormones. But to prioritize psychological treatment first.
However comma this is why things like this shouldn’t be left up to the individual states. Doctors should always be prioritizing therapy over medication. This goes for any kind of psychological treatment. And it should be nationwide. Not just in Alabama or Michigan. Everywhere. Give children with gender dysphoria the treatment that they need.
EDIT: I said statewide lmao
“we should allow kids to transition but also no ones letting kids transition and the fact that you transitioned as a child was abuse!”

god I love the people behind the umbrella academy so much because when Elliot came out he said he'd still be down to be Vanya but the creators were like "um we have a floating dimensional box named Christopher, we can give you one better, here's ✨VIKTOR Hargreeves✨" and I think that's really beautiful

She was mentioning that to counter the stupid comment that said “you lost me at ‘it would’ve been better if a trans person made the joke’”. When Dave jokes about black people and black issues, it’s funny. When a white person does it, it’s racist.
She’s simply saying that when Dave makes jokes like that, it’s transphobic, but when a trans person does it it’s self deprecation. They’re just poking fun at themselves. Which is a much better form of comedy than picking on the guy who already gets picked on by the majority.
Hope that helped.
Proud misogynist and glorified YouTube personality Samantha Lux: being unapologetically racist by conflating saying a male has a penis with white people calling a black person the N word.

Okay let me generalize my long ass paragraph more bc no one has time for that: Gay people are not intentionally coming for straight people to manipulate them and eventually break their heart. That kind of stuff isn’t usually planned unless said gay man or woman is a con artist. Situations like these happen because we live in a society( 🤡) that only deems the ‘Default’ acceptable and the ‘Other’ as deviant and lesser. It’s no surprise that people try many ways to fit into that bubble to keep themselves safe from judgment. Does that make it good thing? Hell no! It’s not okay to lie. But it’s also not okay to be disingenuous and assume that the man was just straight up conning her when the majority of the time, that’s not the case. It’s also not her fault for getting in the relationship in the first place because how the hell was she supposed to know that? Picking which person to villainize should not be the go to.
EDIT: I mentioned activism but that doesn’t apply to all the sides of this argument.
I also mentioned more in that unnecessarily long comment that the blame should always be shifted toward the system and the people who look to keep that same outdated system in place, as they are the ones doing real harm to both of these groups of people (women and gays). And all marginalized people.
EDIT #2: deleted an eddit hehe
Some of you: always pro women!
When a gay male marries a straight woman and has children with her and then decides to come out and that woman realices her partner never really loved her nor was attracted to her: she should have known better... I mean homophobia make him do it you know. Stupid woman for staying in that marriage

Can you give me a list of radical feminists who challaged the sex binary?
Yes, here are a few notable radical feminists who have challenged the sex binary:
Monique Wittig - French feminist theorist who argued that the concept of "woman" is a social construct created by patriarchy to oppress people who do not conform to traditional gender roles.
Judith Butler - American philosopher and gender theorist who has written extensively on the social construction of gender and the ways in which gender norms are enforced through language and social institutions
Shulamith Firestone - American feminist writer and activist who argued that the sex binary is a tool of oppression and advocated for the abolition of gender.
Sandy Stone - American trans woman and feminist philosopher who challenged traditional notions of gender and identity in her work on trans feminism.
Sylvia Rivera - American transgender activist who was a prominent figure in the Stonewall riots and advocated for the rights of transgender people and other marginalized groups within the LGBTQ+ community.
Andrea Dworkin - American feminist writer and activist who challenged traditional gender roles and advocated for the abolition of prostitution and pornography as forms of violence against women.
These are just a few examples of radical feminists who have challenged the sex binary. It's important to recognize that there are many perspectives within radical feminism and that not all radical feminists agree on every issue.

I can’t find any other explanation besides mental illness due to generational trauma. We know that gender dysphoria is on a spectrum though. Which is good because we have a decent way to study that spectrum. We know it exists. Analyzing how people on the scale think, feel, and behave is important to determining what care the person with gender dysphoria should receive.
