INSANE ABOUT THIS INSANE ABOUT IT FOREVER AND EVER A WHOLE I CANT BELIEVE A WHOLE ANIMATIC this is so cool and fantaSTIC AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH And you kinda def read my mind a little here because i was absolutely inspired a bit by this scene from the movie for the start of the chapter

but everything, hot rod dancing around to the music and matching the gang to the different Guardians works so wELL

the bit of 'how is this guy still alive' thne the blurr cube flashbacks and THE "you've gained weight' cutting to a display of how hot rod is literally dying anD AND getting Perceptor's vision through the scope and the way everyone's mannerisims come across in the way you drew them aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

This fic is everything to me, I am not kidding. Glimmer by BeneathAScorpionSky is my life and I take any opportunity to recommend this fic to someone.

Reading chapter 16, I was immediately reminded of that one audio with the guardians in Infinity War, so the voices naturally forced me to make this. And now I share it with all of you

My interpretation on a scene on one of my fave ongoing fics, Glimmer by BeneathAScorpionSky! I really love the idea of these Cyberverse cast ending up in the (alternate) MTMTE universe-- and this scene in particular caught me because, well, I like Roddy! Been a while since I did comic-form and I decided not to colour the rest of the panels :P

also i've had some fun little ideas for his and whirl's backstory

Whirl's is kinda straightforwards at least for now. He's pretty smart and surprisingly nifty even with his claws, makes stuff, clocks but other things too. idk if mers have clocks but he makes whatever the equivalent is. But its still Whirl and he gets along with nobody and eventually kinda ended up on the fringes of civilization and just hangs by himself off in the middle of nowhere

Tailgate's is more...fun! in that he was caught accidentally when he was vry young and kept illegally as a pet in someone's swimming pool or something until he got too big and then was dumped back out into the ocean with no idea how to take care of himself or why his human 'family' didn't want him anymore. He def wouldn't have survived but he ran into Whirl and just glued himself to the other mer's side and eventually Whirl grew to tolerate him and is halfheartedly trying to teach him some survival skills. Also i imagine this is part of the reason Tailgate gets so attached to Cyclonus, he probably feels some kind of safety/familiarity around a human

for this i imagine Dead End was just working when the tsunami hit and just sat there waiting for death to take him, but through some miracle he was fine and he's just been sitting in the crane waiting for something to happen until Hot Rod finally showed up

I am actually working on the next bit of the hot rod and clobber comic i just got derailed and had an idea and oops more art

ngl this is extremely tangential but it was still inspired by Keferon's apocalyptic ponyu au so go check them out for more cool stuff and 1000x better arts lol

but! Lobster mer Whirl and harp seal mer Tailgate!

Cyclonus is a grouchy old fisherman who lives out in a shack somewhere and Whirl and Tg just kinda follow him around when he goes out on his boat, halfway bugging him and begging for fish halfway watching out for him in bad weather or warning when there's something dangerous in the water.

also i used a different brush for this one and didn't realize until i was almost done rip

idk if i'm gonna make anymore lol, i have ideas but idk if its worth the effort, despite these being vry low effort hjsdf, ngl im surprised and happy i managed to get this far

idk i just really liked the idea of human hot rod and lorge sea creature Clobber. (hopefully its decently recognizble as Clobber, i realize now that she looks a lot like Shockwave's normal design)

i never draw comics but i have some ideas for them so maybe i'll use this as an excuse to practice lol
