My first 12th doctor fan fic thingy

Thanks to @codex-arcene for the editing I really appreciate it :) 👍

The TARDIS was parked on a cold snowy night. Everything in the world was nice, quiet and peaceful as the Doctor lay on his cold, hard brick of a mattress, hovering on top of his wooden bedframe. As he gazed at the ceiling, he heard a hard bang on the TARDIS door. He knew he had to investigate the strange noise.

The Doctor bounced out of his bed. As he was untangling himself - whilst putting on his dressing gown - he wandered slowly towards the TARDIS doors. He made sure all of his steps were silent as he got closer towards the rickety doors. He pulled out his screwdriver in a flash out of his dressing gown pocket, kicking open the doors with a mighty *BANG* in a rush. But...no one was there?

The Doctor twisted and turned his head as far as his body would let him - although the constant comparisons, he was not an owl - but he didn't see anyone, or indeed anything. He pulled out his sonic but still nothing was there...until he stomped his foot into a large heap of snow. Suddenly, he heard a "Wahh!" and he slowly tilted his head and crouched down into the wet, freezing snow, finding a rather disturbed and dangerously pale baby trapped in a damp cardboard box.

The Doctor gently lifted up the baby and wrapped it up in his soft but very thin dressing gown. "It's ok, you'll soon be safe and sound." The Doctor said, trying to reassure not only the baby but also himself. When the Doctor carried the frostbitten baby into the TARDIS, he rushed to a bathroom and got it into a bath full of warm water. At that point, he was finally able to notice certain details of the baby's appearance: she had light brown hair and deep blue eyes. He then wrapped her into a nice warm fluffy blanket and carefully places her in his emergency crib. When the baby fell asleep, the Doctor went back outside to look for clues about where the baby came from.

The Doctor slowly stumbled into the night, leaving the light and safety of the TARDIS flickering in the distance. As he crawled through the painful grasp of the thick snow, he saw a drenched piece of paper, barely sticking out for anyone to notice. The Doctor gently picked up the piece of paper, noticing the writing on it - written with a quill tip pen and blue ink. But the snow made it impossible to read: so impossible it made Gallifreyan look like child's play to learn. The Doctor took it back to the TARDIS for evidence.

When the Doctor returned to the TARDIS, he noticed something was off... Notably that the baby - who he was sure he took to bed - was sitting on top of the TARDIS console! The Doctor was in a complete state of confusion. "How...how'd you get here?!" The Doctor questioned, after a few seconds of stunned silence. He gently lifted up the baby and placed her back into her crib. As he closed the door and turned around to complete his investigation... "Jeez, I only just put you back into bed, how did you-?" The Doctor looked down at the girl, stunned to process anything. "Right, something is definitely off with you." He said, trying to catch his breath. The baby however sat casually on the floor, fidgeting with the Doctor's boot-laces.

The Doctor picked up this mysterious baby, and gently carried and placed her on top of the TARDIS console. He searched for answers to the many questions he had: Where did the baby come from? Who - and where - was the baby's parents? And more importantly...where did the baby go right now?

The baby had vanished yet again. The Doctor searched the TARDIS from top to bottom, but then he saw a glowing light lingering from one of the doors. Opening it, he was blinded by a golden glowing light, and then he realised that it wasn't just your ordinary baby. It was a random, ordinary, GALLIFREYAN baby...

The Doctor caught the golden glowing baby in his arms, before realising that this gallifreyan baby needed a name. "Ok, how about I name you...Susie?" He said, an optimistic look on his face, but the baby's reaction was the opposite. "Okay then...what about Bridget? Sharon? Jedward?"

The baby then started to fidget in the Doctor's arms, pointing to a book: Pride and Prejudice. "Oh, I understand. You would like to be called...Clara." The baby nodded, a positive expression on her face - the Doctor's was less pleased. But, baby Clara's safety and wellbeing was the Doctor's main priority, and his new duty of care.

"Alright! Let's get back to work, mini...little...Clara."

The Doctor was just about to type baby Clara's details into the TARDIS console to try and help him find some form of clue until...

"What's that smell?" He paused, looked at the infant and nodded his head very slowly. "I guess I need to call Bill. She'll know what to do." He wasn't very experienced when it came to the art of nappy changing.

Bill, meanwhile, was laying in bed, lost in a very deep sleep, but not for long as her phone began to loudly ring.

"Who would call me in the middle of the night besides...oh no, no, no,NO." She face-palmed, after seeing the contact trying to call her: 'Space Grandad". She reluctantly picked up the phone.

"What do you bloody want. It's the middle of the night!" She asked, already dreading the Doctor's response.

"Bill, hi! Do you have any experience with...changing small infants' nappies?" The Doctor responded, desperate for help.

"Yeah, fine. I'll change the baby's nappy. As long as you never ask that question, in that specific way, ever again, because that sounds so wrong."

The Doctor was relieved.

"Ok, she's done, can I go back to bed now?" Bill exclaimed, as she gently placed baby Clara into the Doctor's arms.

"Thank you so much, Bill. I would be completely lost without you." Said the Doctor in a very positive tone.

"That's a first" muttered a very exhausted Bill as she slammed the TARDIS doors shut.

"Ok, let's get back to work, tiny Clara!" The Doctor typed in baby Clara's information into the TARDIS console, whilst the child just sat in the chair playing with a left-out sonic screwdriver. "No no no, don't TOUCH THAT-" The Doctor screamed as he snatched it out of baby Clara's hands. But then a stream of tears fell from the infant's face.

"Uh oh." The Doctor sighed, regretting everything.

The lights shook and kept flickering - the TARDIS was losing control as baby Clara's tantrum caused her to blast out the rest of her regeneration energy. The Doctor tried to get up, but the girl was far too powerful. He had to physically drag himself across the floor as if he was climbing a mountain in a hurricane. Better yet, a Time Tot tantrum hurricane. The Doctor was able to get a teddy bear in his grasp, and throwing it to baby Clara eventually got everything to calm down as she fell asleep. "Okay, come on now, no distractions-" The TARDIS interrupted the Doctor's words to notify him about baby Clara's information, but nothing was there - just the words 'NOTHING FOUND'. He was very confused, so he decided to look further and try to decode the piece of paper with drenched out handwriting - the only thing baby Clara had. Eventually, he was able to decode the message: 'dear person, I have given you my daughter as I have been- oh god, no no NO!" The Doctor was too overwhelmed to finish the note - baby Clara's mother was gone.
