I CAN FINALLY DRAW SONIC CHARACTERS!!! Young me would be so happy right now!!!

Of all the things that would inspire me to make digital art again, I didn't think Sonic.exe would be the one to do it. But here we are! I've recently fell down an Exe rabbit hole lately. Turns out, there are HUNDREDS of different Sonic Exes out there! It seems everybody has their own version of the guy! People are so talented, they've made some amazing stuff! So, I felt inspired to create my OWN Sonic.exe. To differentiate him from all the other Exes, I'll call him Guardian Angel.exe.

My concept for him is this: There are many ways Sonic can die. Drowning, crushing, running into spikes, Eggman's robots, or even just falling from a great height. When that happens, Sonic just respawns, no worse for wear. Sure, you can get a Game Over, but nothing is stopping you from trying again. You can thank THIS guy for that! Whenever Sonic dies, Guardian Angel Exe is able to restore him to full health with no memory of his death.

Over time, he has done the same for Sonic's friends. None of them remember dying, apart from a gut feeling, a little safeguard planted by Exe to ensure they don't make the same mistake twice. Start running at full speed a little sooner, keep an eye out for that stray Badnik, maybe just avoid the water.

For years, Exe has been happily saving Sonic and his friends, fancying himself their Guardian Angel. As he embraced his identity, his form began to shift. His body resembled Sonic, but with dark eyes and sharp teeth. Blood flows freely from his form, usually from his eyes or the X scar on his chest, sprouting strange wings and a bloody halo overhead. He is always watching over Sonic and the others, ever vigilant in his goal to protect his favorite mortals. <3

Aaaand that's the gist of it. I've got a few story ideas for this guy; a comic series would probably work best. Let me know if you guys would like to see this guy expanded upon. I'd love to work more on him in the future.

This one took longer than it probably should have.

After listening to the song "The Death of the Cog", I felt like making a Steampunk inspired piece. While I do like the fashion style a LOT, it's one I don't experiment with too often. I don't know, the constant browns of the style don't really inspire me. I love the themes and the mix of old technology with Victorian fashion. It's just hard for me to find a Steampunk look that I personally connect with. You guys know my brand, I love my pastels and colors!!!

Despite that, I love how this came out! The dress came out PERFECT, and those highlights really bring her hair to life! I originally had more gears in the background, but I ended up going for the "less is more" approach. I'd love to paint/draw more fashion styles like this. If there are any styles you guys would like to see, let me know!

BEHOLD! My comfort character!!!

I've loved Kuromi for YEARS!!!! She's easily my favorite Sanrio character of ALL TIME, I love them all, make no mistake, but there's something special about this little punk. It makes me really happy to know she's become MUCH more popular over the years. Now, she's in the Top 3!!! Little me would be EXSTATIC!

Since I've been on a painting craze lately, I felt like trying to paint Kuromi, which took longer than I expected. Sanrio characters look simple, but it takes time to get their features JUST right. Plus, I've been playing Hello Kitty Island Adventures like CRAZY over the past few days, which also inspired this piece. Kuromi has the CUTEST little potion shop in that game, it's a pumpkin and everything!!!

I forgot how much fun it was to PAINT characters!

One of these days, I will make that "Crane" series based on the Scarecrow. Until then, I'll work on my own designs for Batman villains. Besides Scarecrow, Harley Quinn is easily one of my favorites. She's so cute but so psychotic, I love her!!! I wanted my design for her to feel more cutesy than her usual sexy looks found in modern works. Normalize Harley Quinn in poofy dresses!!

Man, I haven't painted in FOREVER!

Since I'm planning on making my art more of a career, I figured I'd make some more paintings for my inventory. To get back into the swing of things, I painted something using my usual bright color palette! We've got some flowers, perfect for Spring! I forgot how fast I can be with painting! This came out really nice, I hope you guys like it!

As an aside, it's my birthday today! I'm officially 26! Just had some jumbo shrimp for dinner and got a few crochet kits from my family! I'll be sure to show you guys the crochet stuff I've been working on, too. Thanks for sticking with me all this time, you guys are the best!

I have both a new idea and an old idea.

Some of my followers may remember a comic I made way back called "Toxic Lab". A good handful of people really liked it, but for whatever reason I lost my passion for it. I don't know, it just never felt quite right. Recently though, I had the idea to remake it! Start again, from the top! This time, I could make it into an actual Webtoon comic, like my "Sweet Yandere Boy" series! As so, the redesign began!

First things first, Dr. Spiral needed a make-over! As much as it pains me to do this, I can't stick with the old bunny design. It IS very cute, but he DID look exactly like a shiny Spinda. If this becomes a big thing, I do NOT want to get in trouble with the copyright police!!!

But fear not! I kept a lot of elements from his old bunny design! I gave him a cute headband with bunny ears! Fun Fact: "Lapin" is another term for rabbit! He's gotta have the spiraled eyes, that's his namesake! They're much easier to draw now that they're actually eyes. You have NO idea how hard it was to make those pure spirals!!! Of course, I kept his original color palette, the soft yellows and greens, so he's still recognizably Dr. Spiral. He's my green boy!

I think the most drastic change will be his personality. He's kind of a mashup of the OG Dr. Spiral and Gacha (his assistant in the original story) Don't worry, he still has his love of science, just a bit more serious. I want to lean more into the "crazy doctor" side of his personality, which I never really got to in the original comic.

Aaaand that's about it! I know many people liked his old look, (I do too, so I'll probably reference it at some point) but I hope you guys enjoy this new design. I feel like he has more of an identity now, instead of just being my shiny Spinda look-a-like.

We can officially mark "Update the 'You Don't Know Jack' Hosts" OFF the to-do list!

This is a remake of an older piece I made ages ago. Like, back before I learned Cookie was NOT the bald man in the Jackbox box, ages ago. Unlike the remake I did last year, this one isn't TOO different from the original. It's mostly little fixes. Better anatomy, improved style, more interesting shading and shadows, it's the little things that pull a piece together.

I've also updated my designs for Nate, Buzz, and Guy. Nate hasn't changed much, but I did change his eyes a bit. Helps to set him apart from the others. Buzz has a different sweater because I wasn't a fan of his old one. Plus, this one has bee colors! Guy also got an outfit update, as I think green and yellow suit him better than the blue tank top I originally gave him. He's also got some piercings, just for fun!

In a shocking turn of events, JOE is the one that gave me the most trouble!! Honestly, on-brand for the guy.

Joe's design always felt kind of simple to me. Normal non-magical boys are hard to make interesting designs for. So I turned his old vest into a full jacket and gave him some burn scars! You can't tell me something hasn't blown up in his face at least twice! I think this gives some character to his design, with a chipped ear and a blind eye. Now he REALLY looks unhinged! THAT'S the Joe Vagabond I know and love!

Color palette mostly stayed the same. He's always been a green guy in my head. Just made a few tweaks here and there with his grays and browns. The burn scars were an interesting challenge. Played around with the layer effects on GIMP and found one that worked!

I'm getting better at drawing chubby characters! Look at that belly~

As cute as she is, I've always felt Abby wasn't draconic enough. She looked more like a cat than a dragon. I'm not a fan of long snouts, at least when I try to draw them, so I'm still giving her a little snoot. I changed her ears to a sharper look, so they look less cat-like. I think what really sells this new design at the spikes I added. THOSE make her look way more reptilian!

Her character isn't going to change much, she's still second-in-command for Team Nova. She'll always be the team smartie. Researcher, tech expert, whatever you need to know for the mission. Now that I've added more aqua colors into her actual design (instead of just her dress) I feel like giving her some ice powers alongside fire powers. Abby has both brains and brawn, so some extra powers would be great for her arsenal. Alright, that leaves Joe as the last Team Nova member to redesign! He shouldn't be too tough. Crazy as he is, he's just a dude.

It's amazing how much a new outfit can do!

I didn't change her physical appearance much, just changed her hair/fur a bit. Her outfit though, I had a lot of fun making a more "uniform" look. This makes her look a lot more professional! She may not be the main character anymore for my reworking, but she's still in the main cast. Stella is still one of the best Cosmic Rangers and the proud leader of Team Nova. I think making her a supporting character will be better for her. That way, she won't come off as a Mary Sue, something I was afraid of back when I first made her.

There's not much else to say about this one. Stella took a lot less time than Mini did. Even with more detail in her outfit, Minidroid felt more complicated. I was fiddling with Mini's color scheme a lot, but Stella was fairly straightforward. The hardest part of this was actually the background. I went back and forth between drawing the stars myself and just using the star brush in GIMP. In the end, I used the star brush. It just makes a nice, clean star that doesn't trigger my OCD. Next up, I think I'll do Abby. Her redesign might be trouble since I want her to look more draconic but still cute.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVEN'T DRAWN MY OWN OC'S IN OVER TWO YEARS?! God, what kind of art block was I in?!

I've been feeling... unsatisfied with the current Cosmic Rangers storyline. I think it's time for a rewrite, refresh my mindset on these characters. First things first, Minidroid. Of the Cosmic Rangers roster, she's easily my favorite. She has been for years and I can't pretend she isn't. I have WAY more story ideas for her than I do for the others, and that's not the way you're suppose to feel about your supporting character.

I think it'd be better for the series if SHE was the main character instead of Stella. Don't worry, Stella will still be the team leader, but I think the cat should take more of a mentor role than a main character role. That way, I can focus my Mini passion into developing her story. Speaking of, I want to expand on her origin, where she came from, how she met the team, and how she joined Team Nova. That means I'll be remaking the first "episode". I already have some ideas for it!

For the moment though, here's her updated design! Something was missing from her old look, so I gave her more robotic details and a slightly different hairstyle. This means I'll have to update her reference sheet come next Art Fight, but that's okay. I need to fix all of those anyway. Next up, I'll need to redesign the rest of the team. I have ideas for Stella and Joe, but Abby might take a while. I feel like she doesn't look draconic enough. The villains will need new designs too. I'm committing to this! I'm gonna do it! If I forget, remind me!

I felt the nostalgic urge to recolor again.

In a way, this is a redesign of my oldest persona. You see, LONG before I was Alanna Artroid, my username was Alanna the Seedrian. Back then, I had NO idea how to make digital art. Thankfully, neither did MANY other people! We were cringe... but we were free. If nothing else, this shows how much online artists have grown over the years. Recolors like this are oddly therapeutic, I'd highly recommend it.

I'm not really a part of the Sonic fandom anymore, but I got inspired to make an OC. (Mainly because my favorite Sonic character EVER is in the newest game!) I'm SO happy with how she came out, her colors are perfect! I'll call her Petal. Petal the Seedrian! :D

And yes, that IS the Scepter of Darkness she's holding. I've got lore cooking. For those wondering, the background is from the hub world in Shadow Generations.

Dictionarium~! Dictionarium~! It's time to broaden your vocabularium~!

Weirdly enough, I've never drawn the Dictionary Keeper on her own! Every time I've drawn her, I've always paired her with other characters! (Usually [REDACTED], lol) Well, that ends now! Here she is, front and center! Complete with my current design for her!

I know Dictionarium isn't as popular as TMP or Quiplash, but it's a Jackbox game I hold very dear. Definitely the sleeper pick, but it's really sweet and charming. If only for the hostess alone. She's easily one of the cutest hosts, such a little dork! Olivia Nielsen does an amazing job voicing her.

I am now on BlueSky!

I just made a BlueSky account! Since Twitter has become (for lack of a better term) a toxic pit, I ditched that site a long time ago. Thankfully, BlueSky seems to be a safer, more positive social media site. Free from Elon Musk, politics, and all that trash.

Don't worry, I'll still use DeviantART and Tumblr. I'm not leaving these sites anytime soon. This is just another way to interact with me online. I look forward to seeing you guys there! I'll be posting my art over there in a moment!

Now the original for THIS one is OLD!! I made that back in 2019!!!

It's surreal looking back at the original, seeing just how much my art has changed. I drew the old one back when I first got into Jackbox! That was over five years ago! That's… that's crazy! Party Pack 6 wasn't even a blink on the horizon yet! I just… I just had a feeling in my heart that TMP was special, ever since I first saw it. Even after all these years, I still love this series. A lot of people have come and gone, and a lot of things have changed in this fandom, but I'm amazed by how much love and talent is in this fandom.

Gosh, it's weird to say I'm feeling nostalgic over a horror trivia game, but it's true. Anyway, back to the remake here! Since this line is from the original Trivia Murder Party, I wanted to use a different outfit than the one I use for the sequel. (I made a different version of it for the ref sheet, but I wasn't happy with it. The colors didn't feel right. I like this one much better!) Just for the heck of it, I drew my human version of the Wrath doll. I haven't drawn the human dolls in a LONG while! I made a few small changed to this design, but nothing too crazy.

Also, I found out why I haven't felt inspired to make digital art lately! The new stylus I have works really well, but my shaky hands aren't steady. It make digital art a struggle for me. Thankfully, I found the solution! My laptop has a tablet mode, so I can pull it into my lap to work on art! It made using the stylus SO much easier!!! Now I won't be suffering through my digital work! (Hopefully, that means I can upload semi-regularly again!)

Wow, listen to me blabber on. Didn't mean for the description to go on THIS long. But hey, this piece makes me really happy. I hope you guys like it too. I can just FEEL how much I've improved, doing these remakes. If anyone else is feeling art-block, I'd highly recommend going back to old works and giving them new life!
