Each to their own.. I am all for that I won’t yuck your yum, you do you boo! 😘

But man.. I DNF’d 7 books in the last week!!!

But daaaaymn.. did I have some freaking HOT! ARC’s recently and they were soooo good 😩👌🏻

I’m blaming the fact they were incredible to the fact I just ended up hating everything else.

I refuse to rate a book I didn’t like.

It’s not my place to berate people’s writing styles because it doesn’t suit me.

It’s not my place to lesser someone else’s successes.

I refuse to make someone hate themselves or their craft because it’s not for me.

And you shouldn’t too!

When you rate something below a 4 star on a rating site.. keep it to yourself.

If you hate the book, it simple… STOP READING!

I’m so passionate about spotlighting new, unsung and indie authors because they deserve it the most!

I’ve found the best authors and series by just stumbling upon it or them on socials and I have never looked back!

It has been a hot minute since I’ve been here!

It’s been a wild ride for the last month or so.. I’ve officially landed on my feet with my dream job! I can officially say I work with authors! Multiple! And it’s suuuuch a relief to be busy and happy in a job! I love my day job but this gives me such a thrill !

I’ve been reading.. ALOT! What’s new?!

A lot actually I’ve been reading fantasy.. I haven’t since like 2019! And read my first omegaverse and absolutely LOVE it!

I’m so ready for what else can happen this year! Oh and I took another trip around the sun I’m now 28.. +4 🫠😂 still 16 at heart.. just the outside that needs to go backwards 😅

Currently in a cowboy romance hole and let me tell you!! I’d definitely save some horses with thes male mains! 🥵

Also.. Clint Eastwood.. he was something else but have you seen his son 🥵🔥

Ya girls gone dark! 🖤

I am obsessed with Dark Romance at the minute.

Wether it’s a morally grey man, a mafia don.. or just a damn right crazy hot dude.. something about the possession these men hold to their girl 🥵 so good!

Learning I don’t have that many triggers.. or less than I expected 😅

In light of the craziness of people targeting taboo authors.. like why?! Yeah I won’t read a monster shifter because the semantics don’t tally in my head.. so I can’t read them but I seriously don’t get why people are going mad.. was it hurting you? Did you carry on reading? Buy the book and hate it? What’s made you think it’s okay to belittle authors.. did a character jump out of the book?? The answer is probably no. You carried on reading and accepted it wasn’t for you.

Did you know your negativity effects the lives of authors. They’re removing books from Amazon, and other streaming sets because of you targeting these authors. It’s not just taboo it happens constantly.

Books are like marmite/Vegemite you either love it or hate it and it’s not for you to shut down someone else’s passion.. I don’t want to be tied up and left in woods.. or do i 👀🤷🏼‍♀️😅 but you don’t see me going oh I hate this I’ll detail that persons life.

Your hiding behind a keyboard and a cause that means so little to you because your bored aren’t you? That’s all it is..

Anyway.. back to me finding a dark ass dude who is going to go wild before he falls for his girl!

Let’s chat.. microtropes!

So.. I love a good trope.. I’m an absolute sucker for grumpy/sunshine, golden retriever mmc, age gap, pregnancy, and a whole other host including - “touch her and 💀” IYKYK 👀

I also love then as genres, hockey romance, mafia romance, small town.. all of them!

Some I don’t like I’ll admit it’s just how it is.. we all have our icks!

But MICROTROPES!

This is where there are certain things the characters do that make us reader swoon! And boy do I have them..

It can be anything, love letters, making coffee every morning for them, hand on legs, good night texts..

Can you guess that I’m a romance reader 🫠😂

But these are things I didn’t even know existed that make me reach for a book.. I go for the reels or booktok posts that have lines from the book in them.. something about a character being all like “I can’t get her out of my mind, this was supposed to be a one time deal now it feels like it’s a once in a life time chance of happiness..”

Okay.. you see what I mean.. I’m sorry was she not what you expected? The shy girl at the bar was a lioness in the bedroom.. yeah.. it’s just what I crave from romance books. I’m a deep romantic, irl it is hard to keep commitments of love and passion because life happens but to read about it you best believe i love an obsessed MMC 😜

I decided to start a booktok 😱

Bookstagram and blogging is hard enough for me to keep up and hold myself accountable but this too.. I think I’m mad but in all honestly I love reading I love sharing my views, I only tend to use good reads - I don’t understand StoryGraph or booksprout but hey..

I’m back in my hockey romance era apparently.. I’m not sure how many new reads I can find on KU but I’m sure I will… also one of the only hockey romance rans that haven’t read icebreaker yet 🫠

I don’t like following hype okay?! I’ve found some great stuff without recommendations and seriously they’ve blown my freaking mind!

Are you a hockey romance fan? I mean I love the sport too.. burly, flexible men, skating at speed on basically knives and breaking out in brawls.. yeah I might not know all the rules but still I love it! 🩵

It’s a new year.. a time to refresh and figure out life and finally reach those goals.. they may be huge or they may be small but no matter what you are the beholder of your own future!

On that note I finished 2023 with 240 reads… I’m yet to update my GR account but oh well 😂

My final goal for 2024 is 300 but I’ve set it for 150 because I’d rather set myself lower on the safe side that my life changes a bit more!

I started “you’ve reached Sam” yesterday and my god I wasn’t expecting that.. I feel like it’s going to have me bawling my eyes out!

Today, I got startled by a full on bang on my door..

It was one of my bestest friends giving me a gift!

The best part… it’s a book! My favourite of the series Chestnut springs by Elsie Silver!

Heartless is so wholesome and beautiful and it’s one of those books I think of often.. wondering if the characters lives are full of life and love and what happens next.. I often find I have a book from a series I love the most and usually it is book 2 or 4, I’m never sure why.. is it the flow, the way it’s been easier to portray from the characters back ground? I don’t know but I love it!

After finishing the alliance series by SJTilly I dived into her darling series because the woman herself told me about an Easter egg I didn’t notice on the first and second read through! I know, I am too disgusted with myself! I’ve read Latte Darling what feels like a million times and hands down a comfort read.. mechanic daddy axel.. hello! 🥵 but I forgot how good Beckett and Elouise in Smokey Darling are!

Like the lost love, childhood crush turned relationship years down the line.. like 22 years later and they come together in a massive explosion of lust and uncontrollable desire and damn.. I’m all for that!

I praise the good book gods for kindle unlimited daily because I’d be bored else.. or actually doing something productive with my time rather than reading.. but I love to read way too much for my own good.

I am obsessed with broody men and S.J. Tilly.. Creates the best of the best!

I’m going to have a serious slump after this but if anyone has any fast falling mafia recs or even just some good smutty sports romance.. I have minimal triggers but a fair few icks that result in a dnf 😂

Tis the season… for a bit of spice 🥵

Now, when I say I am obsessed with those bad boys who claim their women in books… I ain’t lying.. they are HAWT!

Something about that bad, morally grey man who is nothing but hard faced, rude, a little crazy but is fully obsessed with his girl and gives her the world.. ugh, I can’t get enough!

My top reads this year are wild in this aspect, millionaire office romance? Check! Mafia romance? Check! Sports… 🥵

I’m all over it but I’ve been sucked back into a world I love recently and it’s our not so anti-mafia men in The Alliance series by S.J. Tilly.

This series introduces us to 4 men, Nero, King, Dom and coming very soon, Hans. I have been extremely lucky to be able to read Hans before his official release and LET. ME. TELL. YOU! *stands up slamming my hands on the table*

He’s a force to be reckoned with! He’s had his moments throughout the series, he was unidentifiable, hidden in the shadows and damn right crazy to bring a grenade to a dinner with the alliance men and their queens, but oh boy did he!

He made himself known, he showed up, stepped up and proved that he could be part of the crew. Joining them in taking down trafficking rigs and protecting their women. I can’t go in to detail and you know what it��s soul destroying because I want to shout from the roof tops of what he’s doing because it’s UNHINGED! He’s the top dog of his field, leaving no trace behind and being the selfless, lovable, crazy Viking to our girl Cassie. OUTSTANDING !

But let’s bring it back, in the first book we meet Nero and Payton. Now Nero is just well.. he’s certifiable, let’s be honest. He literally meets Payton by just climbing her balcony and joining her in watching a movie. Even helps himself to the damn popcorn.

He tries to refrain but he can’t help but be pulled toward Payton and her innocence. Without even knowing he falls hard and fast! Even taking away her demons as he falls.. protects her with his life and gives her everything she ever wanted including her dog Toto.. they have a bond that is unbreakable and I am here for it!

His best friend King how ever.. well.. he meets his match with Savannah. Naive little Savannah literally walks into a gathering with her new date? He’s not a boyfriend she’s feeling it out, and thank god out girl has a few icks because he is a jerk, that happens to be the husband of Kings sister.. yup imagine how that went down! Anndddd then Nero marries Savannah to King.. I know! What the heck?! But also it’s actually beautiful, Stockholm syndrome aside.. they build a bond, burn a painting and he falls hook, line and sinker for our Sav.

Savannah even made a run for it once, how I don’t know but.. we meet Dom here. Oh our crazy head of the Chicago Mafia. But daaaaaamn is he good!!

On a “random” - I’ll use that lightly, flight he randomly knocks a cookies out of a girls hand when he “bumps” into her. This isn’t any girl.. it’s Kings half sister.. I mean come on. What are the chances… high apparently. Val is sweet as pie, shy and just needs a damn good hug, bless her soul and Dom apparent fits the bill, until he marries her in vegas, tattoos his name on her finger and makes it known that he is now an alliance bro, yeah… this is a roller coaster! But he shows val what love and loyalty mean, he saves her from loneliness and past traumas and gives her a life of luxury.. honestly I wouldn’t even be mad about him getting me drunk, married and swapping out my birth control for placebos. Cause Dom, our big guy.. is just EVERYTHING! He even calls her Mama.. if you’ve seen good girls, you know 👀

Basically all I’m saying that is it you love some gruesome sh!t and men who love hard.. these guys.. are definitely for you! You can find the alliance and all of S J Tilly’s books over on Amazon and they are on Kindle Unlimited too!

I think I’m going to dive into some more smutty men.. cause oh.. didn’t I mention.. they love, HARD. In EVERY WAY! 🥵🔥 oh yes it’s the whole damn package.. and they are packing a big one! 👀🫠

I am a self confessed book lover.. I read a TONNE of books each year and I’m now here to spread my love of what I read and in my personal opinion THE BEST authors I have come across in my time of reading and why.. because let’s be honest.. who doesn’t love a good book review ? It’s honestly so amazing how reading can really send you into a new world, something you have never experienced but damn your captured and held in a world so unpredictable it makes yours seem pretty bland.. but anyway… on ward we go!

Get ready for a roller coaster of tropes and book boyfriends and I am always down for a good suggestion too!
