If you haven't heard by now, It's been revealed that mixermike622 aka the creator of Fluffle Puff is a disgusting piece of garbage who groomed minors. Yuck. So, I decided to steal Fluffle Puff and redesign her for my own AU because sub-human SCUM like him doesn't deserve such a cute and wholesome pony.

Pomf is the star of a popular series of children's books and also has her own line of merchandise. She's a very fluffy and silly mare who loves making arts and crafts, and has a very happy outlook in life. Her best friend is a reformed changeling named Pupa, who's very grumpy most of the time, but does genuinely care about Pomf.

Some of you are probably thinking that I'm absolutely insane right now, but I decided to incorporate G5 into my MLP Next Gen AU by making Opaline Twilight Sparkle and Tempest Shadow's daughter as opposed to her being a pony who knew Celestia and Luna when they were fillies. I decided to do this because A) the whole "ancient villain who knew Celestia and Luna over 1000 years ago" thing has already been done B) it gives her more personal beef with Twilight C) It's MY AU and I can do whatever I want and D) Opaline just looks like she could pass as a TwiTempest foal IMO. I also gave her a slight redesign by tweaking her mane and removing those weird braids around her ears because they were too difficult for me to draw. Anyway, time for a backstory!

So in my AU, Opaline was originally named Evening Shade and is Twilight and Tempest's daughter, being Twilight's first foal but Tempests's second as she has a son from a past relationship with the Storm King. Having been born an alicorn instead of becoming one like Twilight, Evening ends up viewing herself as better than her piers. She later got a younger sister named Libra, and while she initially loved her baby sister, she began to grow jealous of her as the years went by as she seemed to get more attention from her mothers when she still hadn't found her cutie mark when other foals her age already had one. While her parents loved all their kids equally, Evening still began to feel that her parents loved her less. After all, they were spending more time with her, by why? SHE was the one who was born an alicorn, not her! Why should Libra be getting more attention when SHE was clearly better than her! After leaving home following an argument with her parents, Evening ends up meeting a scarred alicorn named Caelum (OC brother of Celestia and Luna who I have yet to redesign), who convinces her that she IS better than all of them, and that he can teach her how to be a truly powerful pony.

In secret, Evening trains with Caelum, learning how to hone her magic skills and gradually becoming stronger. In reality, Caelum was training her for when he would one day get revenge on his sisters for leaving him for dead over 1000 years ago, but at some point Evening -now going by the name "Opaline"- catches on to what he was doing and turns on him, using the skills she learned to drain him of his magic and, as she later finds out, his immortality, resulting in his demise. Now more powerful than ever, Opaline returns home and begins to wreak havoc on Ponyville, wanting to show those who ignored her how powerful she was. A battle between her and Twilight breaks out as a result, but Twilight can't bring herself to fire at her own daughter and is struck down from the sky, but Opaline's younger sister Libra manages to defeat her by striking her down with a burst of magic, resulting in her getting her cutie mark. As a result of all the damage she caused, Opaline is banished to the outskirts of Equestria as she was now considered too dangerous to others. Opaline forever hates her mother for this, but Twilight is heartbroken over having to banish her own daughter, and Libra feels some guilt over gaining her cutie mark from defeating her.

Life in Equestria goes on as normal after that, but after Twilight's death from old age over a century later (while Twilight doesn't ascend to Celestia's godlike status in the Barkerverse, being an alicorn DID cause her to live a significantly longer life than most ponies), the magic shield keeping Opaline outside of Equestra finally faded and allowed her back in. Still angry over what had happened, Opaline secretly causes disharmony between the three races of ponies, turning them against each other which eventually results in an all-our war breaking out. Equestria's current ruler Violet Vigil tried to put a stop to all the fighting, but this unfortunately results in her death. In a last ditch effort to stop all the bloodshed, her half-siblings Mystic and High Noon used their draconequus powers to gather all the world's magic and place it into three crystals (i.e. the Unity Crystals), which were then given to the three tribes of ponies. By then the damage had been done as trust between earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns were lost, resulting in the three races becoming divided and going their separate ways.

Then, the events of G5 play out more or less the same: Opaline kidnapping Misty as a filly to use her as a spy, Harmony being restored in the New Generation movie, Opaline trying to steal dragon fire to become a fire alicorn and her ultimately being defeated for good.

This is such a weird comment, but I really like that you have Hitch and Pipp both be Apple descendants. My grandparents are like 11th cousins 7 times removed or something bizarre like that, so I always get a little miffed when people freak out and go "INCEST!!!!" at two people who are hardly related.

I remember back in the day, some people on DA were freaking out about the whole MarbleMac ship saying that it was incest and pointed to the episode Pinkie Apple Pie for evidence, even though A) it was never confirmed if the Apple and Pie families were related, and B) even if they were, it was very distantly ("A fourth cousin twice removed by a fifth cousin" as Pinkie mentions in the episode). So yeah, I also find it slightly annoying when people freak out about a pairing that shares almost no DNA.

Decided to post my updated family trees for the Mane Six here, including my VERY large tree for the Apple Family. And as for who Twilight and Tempest's mysterious first child is? You're just gonna have to wait and see. 😉

Oh, and another thing: while Hitch and Pipp are distant descendants of the Apple Family, THEY'RE NOT CLOSELY RELATED. They're at least a few hundred years apart from each other, so they share about as much DNA as you do with a random person on the street. What I'm trying to say is that it's not incest.

General Info:

The future ruler of the Crystal Empire, Flurry is a very selfless princess who genuinely cares about other ponies and is willing to put them before herself. These are very fitting traits for a future ruler, but to be honest Flurry doesn't wish to suceed her mother just yet. She knows all about her longevity as an alicorn and how she'll eventually outlive her friends and family once she receives all her mother's power and ascend the throne. But for now, she's perfectly happy with living in the moment and enjoying her time spent with those she loves.

Relationships:

Princess Cadance and Shining Armor raised Flurry with a lot of love, so it's only natural that she has a lot of love for her parents in return as well as her younger siblings, who all admire and look up to her. She's still as close as ever to her aunt Twilight and absolutely adores her younger cousins. But the pony that she's the most close to is Pound Cake, her childhood frend turned loving husband. With him, they have two twin foals that they absolutely adore.

Cutie Mark:

Flurry Heart's cutie mark is a snowflake adorned with small hearts, representing her power to manupulate ice and snow. She's able to steer away blizzards and create amazing snow displays.

Time for another instalment in Throwback Thursady, where I showcase some old/outdated designs or headcanons that I had for my MLP next gen AU. This time around, I’m sharing my old headcanon for Rainbow Dash’s parents!

Like most MLP fans, I used to headcanon Rainbow Blaze and the old G1 pony Firefly as Dash’s parents before her actual parents were revealed in Season 7. I came up with this little story about how she herself wanted to be a Wonderbolt, but ended up in a bad flying accident where she shattered her left wing so badly that it had to be amputated. Firefly was obviously devastated by this, but Rainbow Blaze (who at that time I called Bifrost since he didn’t have an official name yet), comforted her and promised that he would always be there for her and later married her. Firefly ended up being content living with only one wing, although she still missed flying. But Rainbow Blaze would occasionally take her out for a flight, carrying her on his back.

 Yeah I know it sounds kinda sappy, but younger me thought it was one of the sweetest things ever.

And here were have some old colored pencil art related to this idea that I drew. It’s old, but I‘m still very proud of it.

Time for me to introduce something new to this blog: Throwback Thursday! It’s where I showcase some old/outdated designs or headcanons that I had for my MLP next gen AU. And I thought it would be appropriate to start this off with my very first fanfoal, Paula Red!

This was Paula’s original design when I first created her back in September 2012. (Geez, has it almost been 10 years already?) Her name was originally Cinnamon Apple and she was obviously created in Generalzoi’s Pony Creator back when that was really popular. As you can see, her original design wasn’t that great as she’s just Fluttershy with Big Mac’s color scheme and a different tail.

...And the cutie mark that I came up with wasn’t much better as it was just an apple slice with two of the butterflies from Fluttershy’s cutie mark.

In May 2015, I finally decided to update her design and also decided to make her part batpony. Her redesign was originally adopted from ImBorednStuff on DA if I remember correctly. She still had that lazy slapped-together cutie mark for a while until I finally decided to change it at some point.

Decided to add this Rarity x Fancy Pants kid to my main MLP next gen universe. If you've been following me on DeviantArt for a while, you may recall that he was originally part of my Disliked Ships AU (which is currently in the process of being revamped) because I originally wasn't a big fan of RariPants. But then, something happened over the years. It grew on me. I think maybe the reason I didn't like it originally is because all the foals for it looked so GENERIC. Almost all of them are a white unicorn with either a blue or purple mane. I'm not saying that people are bad to design them, as some of them are great, but it gets kinda old after a while. I decided to stray away from that with this guy's design by mixing Fancy's colors with that of Rarity's parents to make a more original palette. -------------------- Name: Regal Rhyme Nickname(s): Regal Splendor (actual name) Age: 18 years Gender: Male Species: Unicorn Parents: Rarity and Fancy Pants Siblings: Roxbury Russet (half-sister), Brilliance (brother) General Info: Regal Splendor, or Regal Rhyme as he prefers to be called, was never into fashion or the high life like his parents. He ended up discovering his talent in poetry after being introduced to it by a good friend's mother and later changed part of his name to better match his profession. Rhyme can often be seen sipping from a cup of coffee or hanging out at his local poetry club. The guy is pretty chill most of the time, and often looks at things like "Okay, whatever." Relationships: Regal Rhyme has a good relationship with most of his parents, both of them whole heartedly supporting his profession. His closest friends are Maud Pie's son Timber Stone and Applejack's son Harrison Cider. Timber is a fun stallion to hang out with and his mother Maud was the pony that introduced him to his love of poetry. Harrison is a very calm and easygoing stallion that Rhyme enjoys hanging out with, and lately he's noticed that Harrison might have eyes on a pony they occasionally meet in Canterlot... Cutie Mark: Regal Rhyme's cutie mark is a roll of parchment with a writing quill, representing his talent of writing poetry.

Name: Roxbury Russet Nickname(s): Roxie, Rox Age: 24 years Gender: Female Species: Unicorn Parents: Rarity and Braeburn (biological), Fancy Pants (step-father) Siblings: Regal Rhyme (half-brother), Stayman Winesap (half-brother) General Info: Roxbury Russet, or "Roxie" as she prefers to be called, is Rarity's second child and Braeburn's first. The two of them had a shotgun marriage after Rarity got pregnant and later got divorced when Roxie was four after Braeburn realized that he wasn't attracted to mares that much. Being too young to fully understand what was going on, Roxie took it as her father not loving them anymore and has resented Braeburn ever since. Feelings for her bio-dad aside, Roxie is a fun and firey young mare with an ear for music. She doesn't like others bringing up her ties to the Apple Family and would much rather be seen as a musician instead of some hick that grows apples. Relationships: While Roxie has a good relationship with her mother and step-dad, her relationship with her biological father Braeburn isn't all that great. She holds some resentment towards her bio dad for hurting her and mom all those years ago, and while Rarity has mostly forgiven him since then, Roxie isn't quite there yet. Roxie has a half-brother in Appleloosa named Stayman Winesap, whom Roxie usually tries to avoid as she sees him as a reminder of what her dad did. Her two best friends in the world are an earth pony stallion named Bass Drop and a pegasus mare named Trash Talk. The three of them have formed a rock band in which Roxie is the guitarist. Cutie Mark: Roxie's cutie mark is a jagged music note in front of an apple, representing her talent for rock music as well as (to her annoyance) her connection to the Apple Family.

Designed for me by @laytonesqueautistic (Original image) Name: Jasper Age: 16 years Gender: Male Species: Dragon Parents: Spike and TBA (biological), Sweetie Belle (step-mother) Siblings: Emerald Shine (half-brother) General Info: Jasper was born to Spike during his time spent out in the Dragon Lands following his departure from Ponyville. He met a female dragon who then proceeded to leave him shortly after laying their egg. Feeling that the Dragon Lands wasn't the safest place for a single dad to care for a baby, Spike decided to return to Ponyville with a newly hatched Jasper. After returning home Spike ends up reconnecting with Sweetie Belle. After catching up on old times, the two of them ended up growing closer over time and later got married when Jasper was two. Personality-wise, Jasper is a very mellow and laid back dragon. Since he was very young, he's had an interest in fossils and aspires to become a archaeologist someday. Relationships: Having never known his biological mother, Jasper is very close with his step-mom Sweetie Belle as she's the only mother figure he's ever really known. He's a great older sibling to his younger half-brother, Emerald Shine. Another pony that Jasper is close with is Petunia Paleo, an archaeologist mare who has taken him under her wing as an apprentice.

-------------------- Name:  Emerald Shine Nickname(s): Emerald Age: 12 years Gender: Male Species: Pony/Dragon hybrid Parents: Spike and Sweetie Belle Siblings: Jasper (half-brother) General Info: Emerald Shine is one of the many pony/non-pony hybrids that have been born in Equestria in recent years, being one of the earliest known recordings of a dragon/pony hybrid. His conception came as both a surprise and shock to his parents Sweetie Belle and Spike, but they were both still very happy when little Emerald came into their lives. Emerald is a very friendly hybrid, and is pretty nice to be around, except when he has a cold, as he will often breathe fire by accident when he sneezes. Relationships: Emerald Shine is very close with his parents and older half-siblings. He's also close with his aunt Rarity and adopted aunt Twilight who both love to spoil him rotten. His best friend in the entire world is his adopted older cousin Libra, the two of them being as thick as thieves. Cutie Mark: Emerald Shine's cutie mark is three cut emeralds, representing his talent of gem cutting. He discovered his one day when he saw that the gems his aunt was applying to a dress looked uneven, and decided to fix them.

I've made a decision.

I have decided to completely nix Sparity from my MLP next gen.

Why? Because I've now lost two online friendships because of it and I now feel like absolute garbage. I guess the reason I paired them together in the first place is because it was kinda of a popular ship when I first joined the fandom when I was younger, but if I had known years in advance about the grief it would bring me later down the line, I would've paired Spike and Rarity with someone else. I'm now worried that other MLP fans on here that I'm friends with or that I follow will cut me off because of it. If you like it, then that's okay. I just don't want to lose any more friends because of it. However, this doesn't mean that I'll be mixing my OC Emerald Shine as I plan on using him for a different ship without changing the design.

TLDR: I've decided to erase the MLP ship Spike x Rarity from my next gen.

Drew a little headcanon piece for my MLP next gen universe, depicting two minor characters from the show that became mothers much earlier that expected. Ditzy Doo (or "Derpy" as she is sometimes referred to by friends and family) once dated a unicorn stallion named Ponet when she was a teenager. After she got pregnant, Ponet broke up with Ditzy and ended up cutting all ties with her as he felt that he wasn't ready to be a father just yet. Since this was her first relationship, the young Ditzy was of course heartbroken by her coltfriend ditching her like that. Fortunately, Ditzy's family was more than willing to help her care for her foal, which ended up being a unicorn filly she named Dinky Doo. Later in life, Ponet ended up regretting what he did and reached out to Ditzy when Dinky was in her early teens. Having since found a husband (Dr. Hooves) and had a family of her own with him, Ditzy forgave Ponet and allowed him to meet Dinky. Dinky isn't as close to Ponet as she is with her mom and step-dad, but they have formed something of a father-daughter relationship with each other. Lyra Heartstrings was once the marefriend of Written Script. She ended up getting pregnant while they were still teens and Script was more than willing to stay with her and support both her and their foal. While Lyra did care about Script, while they were together Lyra started to realize that she was more attracted to mares rather than stallions and couldn't see Script as anything more than just a good friend. She broke this news to Script, and while he was initially saddened that they would never be a proper couple, he was still willing to support their foal. Lyra later gave birth to a filly named Liza Doolots, with her and Script sharing joint custody of her. While things didn't work out romantically between the two of them, Written Script and Lyra Heartstrings are still good friends and have since found spouses of their own.

NOTE: Everything post Best Gift Ever isn't canon to the Barkerverse unless stated otherwise. Gave Tarte Tatin a twin brother, and I've also decided to make a slight retcon to my next gen regarding her and her mom Applejack. The original idea I had in my head is that Applejack had too much cider to drink with somepony she knows in Appleloosa one night and accidentally got pregnant as a result and never told him for obvious reasons. I originally had that idea just for drama's sake but I've decided to completely retcon that away because...yeah. Instead, I now have AJ having twin foals via artificial insemination before marrying Coloratura, but I do plan on revealing their bio dad sometime in the future. This guy's design was adopted from @mikey-putrid a while back. -------------------- Name: Harrison Cider Nickname(s): Harrison, Harry Age: 22 years Gender: Male Species: Earth Pony Parents: Applejack and ??? (biological), Coloratura (step-mother) Siblings: Tarte Tatin (sister), Prairie Tune (half-sibling) General Info: Harrson Cider and his twin sister Tarte Tatin are the firstborn foals of their mom, Applejack. Seeing all her friends starting families made her long for having a foal of her own depite having not settled down with anypony yet, so she decided that sperm donation was the best option and went to a fertility clinic in Canterlot to have it done. All her friends and family were very supportive of her decision, and 11 months came the birth of twin earth pony foals. While his sister Tarte is a very feisty mare and an occassional workoholic, Harrison is a very calm and easygoing stallion who knows not to push himself too hard. And while Tarte wishes to know more about who their sire was, Harrison isn't really interested that much. They do have a very loving step-mom, after all. Relationships: Harrison has a good relationship with his mom and step-mom, and is closest to his twin sister Tarte out of all his other family members. He's also close with his younger half-sibling Prairie Tune and is very supportive of their interest in music. Harrison has also noticed that a few mares in Ponyville have their eyes on him as they find him rather attractive, but he doesn't pay that much attention to them. He's not even interested in girls, anyway. Cutie Mark: Harrison Cider's cutie mark is a drink bottle with an apple on it, representing his talent of making sparkling drinks as well as showing his ties to the Apple family.
