She masked her unease well, though. “I’m afraid not,” she replied, her voice steady as she narrowed her eyes at him, arms crossed defiantly over her chest. She took a slow sip of her drink, letting the tension hang in the air. “So, what’s it gonna be? You here to drag me back?” She scoffed, a hint of sass lacing her words, daring him to make a move.

The adrenaline that had fueled her for so long was beginning to wane, leaving behind a gnawing sense of anxiety. She had always been the one in control, the one who made the decisions, but now, with every siren wailing in the distance, she felt the walls closing in. The thrill of the chase was fading, replaced by a creeping sense of dread. She shouldn’t feel this way—she was Valeria Garza, a force to be reckoned with. But the weight of her past decisions and the uncertainty of her future were becoming too much to bear.

As she peered around the corner, her eyes caught sight of a small shop nestled between two larger buildings. The flickering neon sign promised cold beer and warm food, a small oasis in the midst of her chaotic life. It was a risk, but she needed a moment to breathe, to gather her thoughts. She slipped into the shop, the bell above the door jingling softly as she entered.

Inside, the air was thick with the smell of fried food and the faint scent of stale beer. The dim lighting cast long shadows, and for a moment, she felt a sense of normalcy wash over her. She approached the counter, her heart racing as she scanned the shelves filled with snacks and drinks. She grabbed a cold beer and a bag of chips, the simple act of choosing something for herself feeling almost foreign.

As she paid the cashier, she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the mirror behind the counter. The woman staring back at her was a stranger—hardened, weary, and haunted by the choices she had made. She took her items and stepped outside, the cool night air hitting her like a wave. She leaned against the wall, cracking open the beer and taking a long swig. The bitterness a stark contrast to the sweetness of the freedom she once craved.

I think I just got a very cool and very, very, very late christmas gift. Cus Mom forgot about it till now....

But, out neighbour is a mom to a lead singer in a metal band I really enjoy, and literally asked our neighbour if I could get a shirt with all the bands signitures on, and now I have a shirt with ALL the members signitures, like their manager/driver (cant really remember what mom said) wrote their signiture on it, which he has not dine for anyone, meaning I have an exclusive signiture! And I am just like WHAT!?
