Do the "normies" buy stuff from you? Forgive me if the question is dumb, but I haven't seen any clear answer regarding it and it tickled me

I would be restricting my market if I only sold to one crowd. That just doesn't feel right to me. Plus, it's not usually the protagonists who seek that certain special substance I'm in Zone 3 for in the first place...

Next Chapter, Next Gimmick!

Now that the X story requirement has been fulfilled, I'll be dropping the "credits for questions" gimmick and replacing it with the Magic Anon (M!A) gimmick! I'd like to encourage more creative interaction on this account, so I hope this will be a fun way to achieve it!

For context for those who may be new to the concept of Magic Anons, it's where askers submit a prompt that affects the current story of the blog. For a deeper elaboration, I found this post helpful and informative!

a short list of guidelines:

I have the right to refuse any M!A I receive, they will be just be deleted from the inbox without posting.

No NSFW M!As - this is a "family friendly" account, no sexually explicit or gorey submissions.

No Permanent M!As - all submissions will have an end point. I'll try to keep them running for about 2-10 posts(?), depending how much material I get. But none of them are meant to last forever.

Ask regular questions! Only 1 M!A can be active at a time

The X

This has been a long time coming.

I've thought of many ways of sharing this story publicly, but I've recently decided that it's better to just get it out there now and revisit adapting it into a game, comic, or video later. I really miss answering your Bandit questions and I want to get back to it in this new year. With all that being said, here's the summarized story about Bandit and how he got his signature X.

Our story starts with the Elsen that has No Fear in Zone 2, that fellow who ripped the pages from the books and sold one of them to the Batter. There was no "Bandit" back then, just a troublemaker by the name of Varik Fassad. Varik was always a greedy smart aleck, but what's important is that he was (and still is) fearless. When a Zone gets purified, all life is immediately pulled into the Nothingness to die. Elsens pulled into the Nothingness will become overwhelmed and burn out, but Varik did not. His lack of fear prevented him from burning, and because he no longer had a use in the game, he effectively had free reign from then on. The X comes as a physical representation of his connection to the Nothingness after purification. It's a part of him, he's a part of it. His disconnection from the story of OFF when he enters the Nothingness is also why he's able to enter other games/has an awareness of the fandom. He has no restrictions.

Hiya, @doughguts-art (Dough) speaking. As long as it's between consenting adults, go nuts with the ships! I'm not one to stop someone from having safe fun lol I am fine with reblogging ship art on this account in the future as long as it is not NSFW/explicitly sexual. I'd like to keep this account SFW (I would say "family friendly" but I am not opposed to drawing blood/gore for future asks so..)

Below is art I've created of ships featuring Bandit that I've seen/collected the art of over the years. The qualifier was that all of these have at least two pieces of fanart for the ship!

Fun Little Trivia: the top-most drawing (the "it's canon, go nuts" one) is a redraw of a piece Bandit's creator, Technijui, drew in response to someone asking to ship Bandit x Puppeteer. It is also the art I am using as this accounts profile pic! Very fun! You will also see a discussion of Bandit's gender/sex in the linked post, and while I can't find a decision on what Technijui refered to him as (because Technijui cleared all of their old content and abandoned the account), he is now canonically a cis male. Do with that what you will haha
