((uh ok sorry, sort of a general announcement but i'm not entirely sure when i'll be able to update this blog - maybe next week or something? my college has a house system and we're currently in rotation before we get sorted into the houses we'll be staying at for the rest of the year, so there's activities and events going on at night, plus i'm trying to get used to being in school again after a super long summer break, and to top it off our homework is notoriously hard and i've got problem sets due right before and after rotation ends and i have to move out of my temporary room. so yeah, until i get used to this i'm not sure how much time i'll be able to put into this blog. thank you all for your support this far though! i'll post the stuff from the giveaway, and if you don't hear back from me in a few weeks feel free to unfollow because i'll probably have given up trying to juggle everything.))

In the Flesh Mini Bang Challenge!

What is this? A mini bang challenge is a collaborative project modeled after the big bang challenge. In a big bang, authors produce fics (generally 10000+ words) and are paired with an artist who then creates something (not limited to drawings!) to go along with the fic. Because our fandom is relatively new, I thought a lower word limit (5000 words) might allow more people to participate, hence “mini” bang.

We all know In the Flesh has not yet been renewed for a third series, so this would be one way to show our love and support for the programme (although hopefully by the time the challenge finishes we will already have new episodes!).

Where do I sign up? Author sign-ups are here. Artist sign-ups are here. Beta sign-ups are here.

Authors may sign up for one individual fic and one collaborative fic with a co-author. You may sign up as both an author and an artist, but you may not create art for your own story. Beta readers may choose to participate in the challenge too or beta only. Read the full rules here.

When is this happening? The tentative schedule can be found here. As you can see, you have plenty of time to work, so don’t be afraid to challenge yourself!

There is also a Siren-only big bang (unaffiliated), if you’d like to take a look at that too. Even if you can’t/don’t want to participate, it would be absolutely wonderful if you could reblog this to spread the word!

((he knits his jumpers himself and he's really proud of this one in particular. kieren doesn't want to hurt his feelings but he gets intense waves of second-hand embarrassment every time simon wears it. sue and steve think it's adorable. jem encourages him to wear it as often as possible and has at least 20 different pictures of kieren's mortified expression.))
