Chapter 6: Useless Lesbian

Author's Note: I know some people see "Useless Lesbian" as bad, but as a fellow sapphic lady, it has always been used to describe me as a joke to describe my shyness and ability to easily be distracted by women, so I decided to use it.

I am woke up by the sound of Tessa and Doll arguing. "I am this close to my goal and you want me to risk it!?" Doll exclaims, pointing menacingly at Tessa. I stay quiet as I try to gather what this argument is over. "She is still a risk to your plans. Do you think this place can hide them forever? Do you think they will want to stay forever!?" Tessa fires back. Doll throws her hands up. "Maybe after I prove myself!" Doll retorts. All that seems to do is make Tessa snicker. "You are a Drone. You should know that probability alone isn't worth the risk. It is one simple mission. We go in, stick this into her, and you can go to love birds land!" Tessa states, keeping her sight trained on Doll. Doll lets out a sigh and seems to be thinking. "Give me a day to think on it." Doll requests. Tessa gives a nod and turns toward me. "Oh! How long have you been up?" Tessa asks.

"Just woke up!" I exclaim sheepishly. The two eye me for a moment before Doll stands. "Tessa, I believe you have something to do. In your room. At this exact second." Doll states. Tessa stares at Doll for a minute before laughing. "Oh boy, you're right! I might need to go do that thing!" Tessa exclaims, quickly going into their room.

"How are you feeling?" Doll asks, sitting beside me. "I'm uh- Good?" I respond, confused by the question. Nothing changed since I fell asleep, right?, I question myself. "That is great to hear. I wanted to show you around the area. Get you used to your surroundings." Doll explains, grabbing my hand as she stands. I feel my body heat up a bit as I stand with her. "Okay." I answer softly. She smiles and drags me to the door outside the cabin. As she opens the door and brings me outside, I notice the rusty fence around the perimeter. "It may not look like much, but what I want to show you is in there." Doll says, pointing to what seems to be a greenhouse.

We both go inside of the greenhouse and I feel my jaw drop in wonder. Insects, grass, and one big sakura tree is inside, bringing a unusual life to the area. "I, with Tessa, was able to fix the biosphere module in this place. I remember when we was in school, you really wished to see one." Doll explains, gripping my hand. My blush I can feel gets worse as she seems to get closer. How did she know I wanted to see a sakura? Did I really ever say it out loud?, my systems ask itself. My blush fades a bit as I try to think about it, but my train of thought was cut off by Doll waving her hand in front of my face. "Are you okay?" She asks, turning me to face her. Her closeness made my systems go into a panic. I quickly get out of her grip and turn away, yelling, "I'm fine," as I attempt to calm myself down. I swear I hear her chuckle.

Before I could turn back around, I feel her hands rest on my hips, which results in my attempts to calm down fail. With her strength, she slowly made me move toward the sakura tree, keeping her grip firmly on my hips. She stops me in front of the sakura and I hear a weird sound. Like water constantly hitting a surface, but times that but a few hundred. "What is that?" I ask. Doll, after a moment, lets me go. "Look for yourself." Doll states. I turn around and feel my processors nearly explode. It's rain- IT'S RAIN, I scream internally. I always wanted to see rain. I reach my hand out instantly and giggle as it splashes off my hand. I feel a bittersweet feeling as the realization I can't feel it hits me. I guess it was obvious, as Doll tilts their head in the corner of my vision. "Is everything okay?" Doll asks. "Yeah I just- Wish I could feel it." I explain quietly. Doll gives a soft smile and reaches. I grab her hand and she gives me a reaffirming squeeze.

"Can we stay here awhile? Before we go back in?" I ask, looking toward Doll.

"Of course." She answers.

I smile softly and look back towards the rain, getting mesmerized in each drop. Previous Chapter
