Sydney is Carmen's best friend.

The last 24 hours have been wild in this fandom lol. I'm still of the view that season 3 isn't going to be the dumpster fire for Sydcarmy that a lot of folks are worried it will be. But we'll see what happens.

I did wanna remind folks that Calo and Storer have already told us that Carmy views Syd as his best friend. And they told us this early in season 2.

Recall 2x03 Sundae and that first phone call between Carmy and Claire:

Carmy spends this entire phone call looking at the floor UNTIL he says that Fak is not his best friend. At that point, he looks to his front door. Who was the only other person in Carmy's apartment before this phone call? Who walked out Carmy's front door less than an hour before Claire rang (his actual number that she weaselled out of Fak)?

HINT: Its his actual best friend.

I can't believe this man will do anything to irreparably hurt someone that dear to him. He most definitely wouldn't purposefully push that person away. And if he inadvertently did, he'd try his hardest to get her back (we've seen all through season 2 how Carmy has bent over backwards to avoid a repeat of the blowout in 1x07 with Syd). He recognised his self-isolating behaviour in 1x08 Braciole and he acknowledged that it contributed to the distance between him and Mikey before the latter died. Carmy won't let that happen again. I'm rooting for our man to fight for his best friend/soulmate this season!

very curious about sydney meeting with the head chef from ever

because if he was poaching her for ever or it could be for his own thing too, but if he was poaching her for ever (like as his replacement, for example) and sydney considers accepting that offer thinking that's how she can be free of carmy, she won't really be completely free, wouldn't she?

because there's that portrait of carmy (with luca) over there, and she's going to be seeing that every time she's at work and still get to think of him so you know..............

(and not to mention chef terry seems to be fond of carmy)
