Title: Fruits Basket Collector's Edition, Vol. 2 (Fruits Basket #2)
Author: Natsuki Takaya
Pages: 384
Synopses: When she was living in a tent pitched on the Sohma family's land, Tohru Honda's primary concerns were dirt and slugs. But now that she's living with the Sohmas, magical powers and ancient curses are the order of the day! With Yuki and Kyo at each other's throats like cats and... rats, life at the Sohmas' is lively enough, but it all heats up as Hatsuharu joins the fray, spoiling for a fight! And even before the new school year can get underway, the mystery surrounding the family escalates when Akito, head of the Sohma clan, confronts Tohru without warning...
Review: I was happy to find out some more of the character’s backgrouds. I thought that was interesting even if it was really sad sometimes.
This volume had more divergence from the anime I think. I like where it is though. I think I am going to enjoy the manga more than the anime and I love the anime a lot.
One of my favorite parts is seeing and reading the first meeting and interations between the newly introduced Sohmas and Tohru. Especially since Haru was introduced and he was one of my favorite zodiac that was introduced in the anime even though I love all of them.
This story at first makes it seem all cutesy and fun, but is all a lie. This story will eat you up alive. There is so much sadness in this story, but I love it.
Quotes:
“Sadly I am so dumb that even my waves can’t make up the difference.”
“Skin this snake and roast it..!!”
“When I picture Tohru-kun going off to be a bride it makes me sad.” “You’re really jumping the gun there.”

Title: Fruits Basket Collector's Edition, Vol. 1 (Fruits Basket #1)
Author: Natsuki Takaya
Pages: 401
Synopses: After a family tragedy turns her life upside down, plucky high schooler Tohru Honda takes matters into her own hands and moves out...into a tent! Unfortunately for her, she pitches her new home on private land belonging to the mysterious Sohma clan, and it isn't long before the owners discover her secret. But, as Tohru quickly finds out when the family offers to take her in, the Sohmas have a secret of their own--when embraced by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac!
Review: I loved the anime and after I did a rewatch of the show I wanted to read the manga. I saw the first two of thes on sale on Amazon and had toget them. I am so glad that I did.
In the first one I noticed some changes between the manga and the anime, but not many. I enjoyed it a lot. I love Tohru. She is so sweet and caring to everyone sometimes to much. She is always smiling no matter what gets in her way. It’s amazing.
I love meeting each of the Sohmas and learning their different quirks. That was one reson I wanted to read the manga since the anime didn’t show you all of the zodiac. It isn’t yet caught up with the anime, but I am excited to meet the ones I never got to in the anime.

Title: Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg (Disney Fairies #1)
Author: Gail Carson Levine
Pages: 189
Synopses: A Newbery Honor-winning author takes readers back to the home of Peter Pan in this New York Times bestelling fantasy featuring the fairies of Never Land, including Tinker Bell and new arrival Prilla, who doesn't quite fit in.
Review: First of all the illustrations in this story were fantastic. I loved them so much. It enhanced the story in the best ways possible.
Prilla is such a sweet and adorable character. I loved her so much from the moment she is introduced. I felt so bad for her with what she had the experience, but I related to her quite a bit. Mother Dove was also a character that I loved. She was so kind and caring to all the fairies no matter who they were. Rani was another fairy I loved. She was just so sweet.
The story itself was very fun to read. There was sad parts, but I enjoyed reading about what they would do to complete their quest.

Title: Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods
Author: Rick Riordan
Pages: 324
Synopses: A publisher in New York asked me to write down what I know about the Greek gods, and I was like, Can we do this anonymously? Because I don't need the Olympians mad at me again. But if it helps you to know your Greek gods, and survive an encounter with them if they ever show up in your face, then I guess writing all this down will be my good deed for the week. So begins Percy Jackson's Greek Gods, in which the son of Poseidon adds his own magic--and sarcastic asides--to the classics. He explains how the world was created, then gives readers his personal take on a who's who of ancients, from Apollo to Zeus. Percy does not hold back. "If you like horror shows, blood baths, lying, stealing, backstabbing, and cannibalism, then read on, because it definitely was a Golden Age for all that."
Review: Percy’s sass can make anything interesting. I already enjoy learning about Greek mythology, but with the commentary of Percy added to the story it was so much better. I was laughing almost every page with the addition of Percy’s storytelling ability. The added bonus of the illustrations was also fantastic the art was gorgeous.
Quotes:
“I know he’s the king of Olympus and all- but trust me, this dude’s ego does not need to get any bigger.”
“Me I can’t change shape. Thanks a lot, Dad.”
“Of course, she’d spent those first seven months in the womb with her twin brother, Apollo, waiting to be born. That much time with Apollo would give anyone a bad impression of the male gender.”

Title: The Perks of being a Wallflower
Author: Stephen Chbosky
Pages: 213
Synopses: The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky, Perks follows observant “wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.
Review: I didn’t expect to like this book all that much from what I learned about it before reading it, but it surprised me. The first half of the book was what I expected to think of it. I though it was okay, but it wasn’t as awesome as so many think it to be. After I got to the next half though I started to really enjoy it. I started to like the characters more and enjoyed what was happening more. I wonder if I ever reread it again if I would like the first half more now.

Complete with interviews, puzzles, games, and original short stories by Rick Riordan.
Review: I thought the stories were really nice. My favorite was the one with Clarisse and Percy. I enjoyed seeing them working/ not working together. The one during the capture the flag game kind of annoyed me to be honest. I enjoyed the stories and extra content overall though.

Review:
I loved this book so much. I enjoy learning about stars, constellations, and the other things found in space. This book gave some really interesting information to me while reading it. A extra plus to the information in this book is the illustrations. They are so beautiful. Even if you don’t really care about the info in the book looking at the art in this book is worth it.

Title: The Stonekeeper (Amulet #1)

Pages: 192
Synopses:
After the tragic death of their father, Emily and Navin move with their mother to the home of her deceased great-grandfather, but the strange house proves to be dangerous. Before long, a sinister creature lures the kids' mom through a door in the basement. Eventually, they enlist the help of a small mechanical rabbit named Miskit. Together with Miskit, they face the most terrifying monster of all, and Em finally has the chance to save someone she loves.
Review:
I was really excited to read this, but I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. It had very pretty art though. I thought that the story was kind of boring, but I feel like the later volumes will get better. I think this because the set up in this first one is interesting and I want to see where the author takes these characters.

Title: Wires and Nerve Vol. 1 (Wires and Nerve #1)
Author: Marissa Meyer
Pages: 240
Synopses:
In her first graphic novel, bestselling author Marissa Meyer extends the world of the Lunar Chronicles with a brand-new,action-packed story about Iko, the android with a heart of (mechanized) gold. When rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the tenuous peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko takes it upon herself to hunt down the soldiers' leader. She is soon working with a handsome royal guard who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity. With appearances by Cinder, Cress, Scarlet, Winter, and the rest of the Rampion crew, this is a must-have for fans of the bestselling series.
Review:
I thought this story very great. I loved seeing the crew again. I loved the art style in this. I thought it was gorgeous. I was so happy each time you got to see a new member of the crew. The plot of the story was also interesting. Of course it ends before the main event happens. That is sad. It makes me want to pick up the next book in this series quicker though.
Quotes:

“Why? You can’t pass a metal detector.”
“If I didn’t know any better I’‘d swear there was romantic tension between the two of them.”

Title: Notorious Nineteen (Stephanie Plum #19)
Author: Janet Evanovich
Pages: 302
Synopses:
After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie’s bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton’s premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it’s on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape . . . or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive. Since the hospital staff’s lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it’s hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Stephanie is forced into working side by side with Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case. The real problem is, no Cubbin also means no way to pay the rent. Desperate for money—or maybe just desperate—Stephanie accepts a secondary job guarding her secretive and mouthwatering mentor Ranger from a deadly Special Forces adversary. While Stephanie is notorious for finding trouble, she may have found a little more than she bargained for this time around. Then again—a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid’s dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone . . . or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she’ll have to remember: No guts, no glory. . . .
Review:
This series is kinda a guilty pleasure read. the plot of each book is on the basic the same in each book, but I can’t help but enjoy myself when I read it. I love this series quite a bit and it always has me laughing. I love Stephanie and I think she a awesome person. I also really enjoy Ranger. I enjoyed the parts with Ranger in this one those were my favorites in this book. As much as I want Stephanie to choose the guy she wants I also don’t want the story to end. I have a feeling that I can’t get the one without the other, but to be completely honest with myself I’d rather Stephanie choose the guy then have more books in the series.
Quotes:
“I did such a gigantic eye roll I almost fell over”
“Cupcake, you’re still yum, but we have chocolate pudding here. That’s serious competition.”
“Rain check this,” Ranger said. “We have company.”

Title: Explosive Eighteen (Stephanie Plum #18)
Author: Janet Evanovich
Pages: 305
Synopses:
Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127 from Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, she’s flying back to New Jersey solo, and someone who sounds like Sasquatch is snoring in row 22. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. The FBI, the fake FBI, and guns-for-hire are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying. Only one other person has seen the missing photograph—Stephanie Plum. Now she’s the target, and she doesn’t intend to end up in a garbage can. With the help of an FBI sketch artist Stephanie re-creates the person in the photo. Unfortunately the first sketch turns out to look like Tom Cruise, and the second sketch like Ashton Kutcher. Until Stephanie can improve her descriptive skills, she’ll need to watch her back. Over at the Bail Bonds Agency it’s business as usual—until the bonds bus serving as Vinnie’s temporary HQ goes up in smoke, Stephanie’s wheelman, Lula, falls in love with their “largest” FTA yet, lifetime arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt moves into Stephanie’s apartment, and everyone wants to know what happened in Hawaii?! Morelli, Trenton’s hottest cop, isn’t talking about Hawaii. Ranger, the man of mystery, isn’t talking about Hawaii. And all Stephanie is willing to say about her Hawaiian vacation is . . . It’s complicated.
Review:
Rereading this story has made me remember what I liked about this series. It is always making me laugh which is my favorite part of the series. I also really like Stephanie even if some of her choices can be frustrating. I just want her to choose between the men in her life and her to get some training for her job. You would think she would with how many times she has almost died. Her choosing between the men thing I want to happen soon and hopefully she ends up with who I want. I like reading her adventures, but I sometimes get annoyed with that aspect of the story. If you don’t like love triangles this is not probably a story for you because it is a major plot point throughout the story. Oh and I want Barnhardt to die.
Quotes:
“If you find him in your kitchen again, you might want to shoot him. Don’t tell anyone I said that.”
“Morelli was big and strong and carried a gun that actually had bullets in it. Jeez, I was such a loser.”
“RATS!” Lula shreiked. “It’s raining rats.”

Title: March (March #1)
Author: John Lewis
Pages: 128
Synopses:
March is a vivid first-hand account of John Lewis’ lifelong struggle for civil and human rights, meditating in the modern age on the distance traveled since the days of Jim Crow and segregation. Rooted in Lewis’ personal story, it also reflects on the highs and lows of the broader civil rights movement. Book One spans John Lewis’ youth in rural Alabama, his life-changing meeting with Martin Luther King, Jr., the birth of the Nashville Student Movement, and their battle to tear down segregation through nonviolent lunch counter sit-ins, building to a stunning climax on the steps of City Hall. Many years ago, John Lewis and other student activists drew inspiration from the 1950s comic book "Martin Luther King and the Montgomery Story." Now, his own comics bring those days to life for a new audience, testifying to a movement whose echoes will be heard for generations.
Review:
I thought this was a very nice book, not in a happy way, but in the way the message it was sending was conveyed. I liked how the story was told. The art was very beautiful too. This book made me very upset thinking about how Black people are treated. Stuff like this shouldn’t happen anymore. It should never have happened to begin with. This is something that is very important to people today because things against black men and women are still happening and that is a sad thing to admit to when we are suppose to be living in the land of the free.

Title: Fairy Tail 63 (Fairy Tail #63) *kinda a gush on my love of all of Fairy Tail*
Author: Hiro Mashima
Pages: 224
Synopses:
The magical adventures of the Fairy Tail guild continue! "[With] crisp, clean, fast-moving art... Fairy Tail is easily one of my favorite new series of the year." -Comic Book Resources "With dazzling visuals and perfectly timed fights of ever greater intensity, this is as good as action-adventure gets." -Anime News Network
Review:
I enjoy the Fairy Tail manga so much. I loved every minute of it even when I wanted to kill someone for what was happening to the people in the series. I love almost all the characters. I think that is what I loved the most about the story. The characters is what made me wanting more. If there was a manga with more background on more of the fairy tail members I would read it. Some might say that this last arc in the story was really long, but I wanted to see everybody and that is what happened. I still wish there was more of certain characters though.

Title: The Zodiac Legacy: The Dragon’s Return
Author: Stan Lee, Staurt Moore, Andie Tong
Pages: 410
Synopses:
In this second illustrated novel of The Zodiac Legacy series, the dangerous dragon power only grows stronger within Jasmine, and Steven struggles to hold their ragtag team together. But as alliances become strained, the line between the "good guys" and the "bad guys" becomes blurrier and blurrier.
Review:
This story was really good. I enjoyed getting answers for questions you had in the last book even if you gained more questions in this one. I was annoyed quite a bit by Jasmine in this book. She wasn’t listening to anyone even though she should’ve. I was also sad that Kim wasn’t there through the majority of the book.
I loved the growth seen in Steven in this book. It was my favorite part. We learned some about his background. We also learned a bit more about the background of the zodiac which was appreciated. This one was just as good as the first one.
Quote:
Then he held out his arms. “Group hug,” he said. “Grug.”

I love this so much. I am going to be so happy to have this. It is gorgeous.

I think I’m done with the art for the art box — at least the mock ups are lookin’ promising. Might be time to scan in the real art and start setting up the Kickstarter.
(and yes, I know my fake mock ups are crooked; the real art will be wrapped around properly).
