averyxobrooks:
Avery had been so focused on the killing that she hadn’t even noticed the other person, as soon as she killed the first one it was almost as if she had zoned out not really taking in her surroundings. A voice behind her startled her back into reality, causing her heart to stop. “It’s– It’s dead. You can come out, it’s safe.” Looking up at her she offered the blonde a small smile. “Oh, should I not have killed it then? You’d have done an amazing job hiding behind there, by the way.” She raised a brow.
Aubree freed herself from behind the tree, moving around to better speak to the woman who had effectively saved her. “I was entirely unprepared for the damn thing, honestly. Usually I’m always on my toes. But I had already cleared a couple out to look for some food. Sorry you had to deal with that one on your own. Are you okay??”

If it were another time, Piper would’ve laughed at the complete comical nature of their current situation. Instead a small grin came to be upon her lips. “I’m sure you were,” the blonde agreed, meaning every word even if the woman seemed more ready to run than to fight. Once upon a time, Piper had been that way, too. “Are you alright?”
Aubree shifted to stand and move around the tree, giving the other woman a sheepish little smile. She was usually one to stand up and fight; Stamm had taught her well over the years. But the thing had snuck up on her and she hadn’t been ready for it. Though that was how they were these days. She high disliked it. “I’m fine, yeah. I...sorry. I should have helped, honestly. I just hadn’t been overly prepared.” her smile appeared once more, though slightly less sheepish. “Are you alright?”

Dove was surprised by the zombie and quickly cut off it’s head with the sword. But she actually jumped when she heard another person’s voice. She turned surprised to see the blonde hiding, a small laugh escaped her lips. “Riiiggght, sure you did.”
Aubree shifted to stand and move around from her hiding place, brushing herself off a bit. It was no use really. She was filthy. She had been scavenging when the thing and the girl had shown up. “Really, I did. I just...saw that you had it under control. So I stayed put. I didn’t want to get in the way, you see.”

“Is it dead?” she hadn’t entirely meant to scare the person on the other side of the tree. Aubree had been out searching for some food to bring back when the thing had appeared out of nowhere; as quiet and sneaky as they had become. Thankfully, the other person had come out of nowhere just as quickly, taking down the walker with ease as Aubree stayed hidden away from both of them. Until she was quite sure it was gone. “You got to it before me. I was about to take it out. I swear.”

Ten Years Later;
“No one can tell what goes on in between the person you were and the person you become. No one can chart that blue and lonely section of hell. There are no maps of the change. You just come out the other side. Or you don't.”
She shouldn’t have survived this long. Aubree had no survival skills. Nothing to keep her alive and well above the walkers that threatened her every step. And yet, ten years later, here she was. She had put it all down to luck, in the end. With a little help from Stamm. Or, perhaps, a lot of help. She wouldn’t have made it this far without the German’s skills. Part of her counted his nudity as the biggest skill that helped her get through the years.
They had seemed to float around from building to building, sometimes town to town; though the two of them had always ended up back in Cheyenne at some point. She wasn’t sure what the pull was but it was as if they couldn’t get enough of the place. Despite there being absolutely no supplies left over in the looted out stores. The two of them still managed to go to sleep most nights with at least something in their bellies.
And now, things were relatively the same. Aubree had never had much of a routine these days. Nor had Stamm. They simply existed; hidden away from prying eyes and snapping jaws. And she was entirely happy with that. She was alive. And though most of her wished she would simply lay down and never get up again; things were okay.

He was quite glad that he’d managed to break through a bit of that stiffness and get a laugh out of her. Edmund wasn’t exactly known for making people laugh, at all. “Yes and no.” He told her. There was no logical way to explain what Piper was to him, except his roommate of some sort. “I’m staying somewhere, with a – friend.”
Aubree tugged on her lip, eyeing the man for a moment. He had hesitated slightly with his words though she wasn’t sure she wanted to find out why. She shuffled back ever so slightly towards the way she had arrived, unable to deny her eagerness to get out of here as quickly as possible. Still, she hesitated. And opened her mouth a second later. “A friend, huh?”

“You’ve seen everything of me and I haven’t seen everything of you. Hardly fair.” Stamm was just joking, if she actually started stripping in front of him, he’d tell her to stop. He murdered people for a living but he could be a gentleman when he wanted to. A small laugh escaped him as she sat down next to him, his eyes turned down to the gun still in his hands. His head shook at her explanation. “Flawed logic. Me, just sitting here. You, showing up in odd places. I have not moved much, so you’re the only one walking around, which means I can’t have been stalking you. Logic flaw. Makes no sense.” He nodded at his own reasoning as if it were the most logical thing in the world.
“Mm mm. Not all of us walk around naked every day. You really are missing out though, I must say. Maybe in time I’ll pick up some of your nudist qualities.” she nudged into him somewhat. She hadn’t been able to figure out why she was so comfortable around him. Most men annoyed her while the others tended to put her on edge. Yet, with him, it was easy. It almost made her dislike him simply because of that. “No, no. My theory makes complete sense. You haven’t left my end of town yet. You’ve just been hanging out here. I’m bound to stumble across you when I’m out searching for food. It’s just going to happen. I can’t stop it.”

A small smile appeared on his usually stoic face as he heard the voice of who was standing in the doorway. “That can change.” He laughed lightly, nodding his head. “Are you stalking me?” He questioned jokingly, though he wouldn’t be surprised if she was. Not maliciously, just following him around like a stray cat. He stopped cleaning his gun, turning around half-way to look at her. “Come in.”
“Welllll,” Aubree shrugged, moving further into the room. “I’ve already seen everything. It’s not as thrilling anymore.” she would happily take a second or third or fourth look if he was willing, but she was eager to keep the banter up between them. It seemed to flow so easily with him that it was amusing. And she needed amusement in this world. “I’m not stalking you,” she moved to plop down beside him, another shrug rolling off of her shoulders. “I just somehow keep ending up in the same places as you. Which can’t be entirely put on my shoulders. You could be stalking me, after all.”

Cleaning his gun, therapeutic in a way. Fingers worked in machine-like fashion, the mechanics so familiar he didn’t need to pay attention to what he was doing. His eyes bore into nothing, staring at empty space when the feeling of being watched pulled Stamm away from his own thoughts. His head turned slightly, just enough to see the figure standing in the doorway. “Wie bist du hier reingekommen?”
It wasn’t like Aubree was following him around. She wasn’t. She just seemed to be amazing at finding him no matter where he was. Which half worried her. Eventually, the man would grow annoyed at the blonde for showing up in his space constantly. She was mostly just amused at this point. “We have got to stop meeting up like this.” she stayed leaned in the doorway for now, arms crossed over her chest as she watched him. Or watched his back. “At least you’re clothed this time though.”

“Right,” He confirmed, though Edmund knew that the word wouldn’t be much comfort to the woman. That was probably why he’d said it. “No, I’m serious. Wouldn’t want to get my clothes further ruined,” He spoke, somewhat joking as he gestured to himself. “You have a group to get back to?”
Part of Aubree wanted to believe the boy. But she was still so on edge around him that it was difficult. Still, she let out a soft laugh at his words and nodded. “Yeah, not many fresh clothes around here if you get more blood on those.” she motioned at him somewhat, before allowing her hand to drop once again. Aubree shook her head slightly and shrugged. “No. Do you?”

5 of the most beautiful woman here
I’m not a big fan of these things because that means I have to leave some people out, and to be honesty all our female survivors are beautiful. But I’ll amuse you anyway. Since you said women, I’ll keep myself from going into teenage territory and only include those ladies who are over twenty:
Madeline Jenks
Teresa Olmedo
Aubree Masters
Winnie Mun
Elizabeth Stefanov

dancingwiththezombies:
Hearing this lovely woman tell her about her absence of a home filled Piper with a sense of guilt and repugnance – at herself, not at the woman. How was it that Aubree, a helpful, sweet thing was homeless while she had a sanctuary for herself? Aubree probably hadn’t failed as many people as she had, Aubree probably deserved far better. Yet she, the cowardly monster, had more. She had her studio. She had Edmund. Certainly more than she deserved. The worst part was that inviting Aubree, offering her the hand she’d given her, was something she could never do. No matter how much she wanted to. At Aubree’s admittance of fear, Piper gave her a soft smile. “If you don’t look down, you’ll be fine. I promise.” An inevitable laugh burst from Piper’s lips when the other woman spoke of the undead. What she said wasn’t really funny, it was the truth, but the nonchalance in Aubree’s speech made the matter seem lighter. “Can’t argue with that,” Piper hesitated for a moment before accepting the bottle and taking the tiniest of sips. “And you. It’s been some time since I’ve laughed. So thank you.”
If you don’t look down, you’ll be fine. That was the issue with Aubree. She had never been a good listener. And no matter how much the girl promised her that that was the key to surviving on the roof, Aubree would look. Because despite her fear of the heights, she was also too curious for her own good. It had often gotten her in trouble before. And would inevitably get her in trouble more than once in this new world. “I’ll try. But I can’t promise I won’t look,” she admitted, cheeks growing a bit red. “I have a horrible habit of not listening to wise people. It’s going to be my downfall, I know it.” her laugh followed Piper’s, the sound foreign to her own ears though it felt so good. She hadn’t laughed in ages. At least not with anyone else. The silence had been driving her crazy lately. So, there had been a bit of laughing amongst herself and the walkers. “Of course. We should really do this again. Maybe minus the falling and threat of walkers around every corner.”

revolverheldstamm:
“I prefer to be alone.” Stamm said with a soft shrug. The truth was a bit darker than that. It was true, he liked being alone, but he didn’t care about the welfare of others. He wasn’t in the rescuing business, he avoided human interaction as much as he possibly could. He had spent so much time with such little value of human life he didn’t know if he would ever be able to care about others. He didn’t know if he wanted to care. Being the villain was easy, trying to be the hero was a waste of time. It wasn’t in Stamm’s nature. “Why do you not fit in?” It was a rude question but he was just trying to deflect. Talking about himself was uncomfortable. If he had to have conversations, he preferred to listen… or pretend to listen. Not with her, though. He was listening to her every word.
The man didn’t enjoy talking about himself. Check. Still, Aubree was suddenly determined. She wanted to dig into him and know every little bit about the man. What made him tick, what he loved, what he hated, everything. The determination dragging through her veins faster and faster with each passing second made her straighten up slightly; eyes taking him in for a moment before dropping away. “I don’t know. I never have. That makes me sound like some emo tween. But it’s just the truth. I’ve never fit in. Though I have a feeling you’ve had the same issue. Have you?” Aubree lifted her eyes once more to glance at him from beneath her lashes. She wasn’t trying to push, but she was so eager to know more about him. To hang on every word he spoke. And maybe it was because she had lacked such contact for so long. But she was quite convinced it was because he was a mystery she wanted to crack and get to know better than anyone else knew him.

He chuckled a little before shaking his head. The blonde looked so fazed by his appearance that she seemed to forget what she had even been talking about. “Right now, no. There’s nobody around to come out from the corners and kill you.” He reassured her. And he wouldn’t either. He’d got his fix for the day. The man was just playing with her.
Right now. Her eyes darted around quickly anyways, not entirely trusting the mans words. What if there was someone ready to come out and kill her for what little belongings she had on her? What if she trusted him and he betrayed her in the end. Trust was a horrible thing to have in this new world. “Well, uh, that’s reassuring. You’re not going to kill me, right?”

What's the worst part about surviving alone?
Is there really a worst part? I was made to be alone, honestly. I prefer it most times. Though I guess it does get kind of lonely. Just kind of. You start talking to yourself more and more. Which is always a little lame.
