This morning I figured I would share the fully revised, all new book description of The Hot Spring Lion’s Society:
“It was in this very moment of the train cart rattling beneath him, that he remembered the single most important thing. Man is inherently evil. He always has been and always will be. When he got to his feet, using his palms to push himself up, he decided that his miserable life was at no fault of his own. It was in the hands of society.”
A young, broody saboteur is thrown onto a moving train and thrust into Assignment One-Thousand Eight-Hundred and Seventy-Two. This is no unusual event for the strange occurrences of Beckett Gray, who, for the past six years, has remained under the unrelenting control of the Society. He does not have the slightest clue as to who runs it, what it stands for, or what his association makes him. He soon learns he is traveling to a strange town by the name of Morose, Michigan, and this time, he will not be working alone. When Beckett and the intoxicating Rilla Allain collide, things seem grim. Incapable of holding a conversation without argument, they are unsure as to what the Society is trying to achieve by placing them together. Still, they must learn to put aside their grievances if they want to get away from one another. This proves difficult when they realize the Society has changed their ways, waiting and hoping that the pair will fail.

“I have no plans of killing you, Beckett. You don’t have to worry.” (Benjamin Reed)
Introducing Benjamin Reed, Beckett Gray’s boarding school assignment. Cocky and wealthier than all his ancestors combined, Benjamin takes natural lead in every situation. The golden boy of Morose Catholic School, and lover of Elenor Hazel, he often misuses his ranking. His sinister mind never fails him with doing what must be done.

“Be careful, Beckett Gray. There are lots of snakes in the grass here.” (Elenor Hazel)
Introducing Elenor Hazel, Rilla Allain’s boarding school assignment. Close in demeanor to Beckett—something he finds alluring—she uses her genius to run an on-campus business. Day after day, she offers students a ride across the lake in her worn dinghy, getting to know each of them personally. Though Rilla is supposed to be keeping an eye on Elenor, Beckett somehow always ends up in her midst. In a loveless relationship with golden boy Benjamin Reed, things become muddled when she sides with Beckett.

“Now, now,” she calmed. “That wouldn’t be so bad. Quit being a, how would you say, bloody fool and get on that balloon!” (Rilla Allain)
Introducing Rilla Alain, the woman Beckett Gray claims to have once been in love with. With her intoxicating, yet fading, French accent, and her silver screen appearance, many find it hard to resist her. Handy with the pistol she keeps strapped to her leg, she is able to physically outwit anyone who dares to challenge her. With Beckett’s childish behavior and her quick temper, the pair struggle to converse without argument.

“I’m not broody. I’m artistic” (Beckett Gray).
Introducing Beckett Gray, the main character of The Hot Spring Lion’s Society. Beckett, an English man, is a genius in every sense of the term. Known for his ability to psychoanalyze any being he meets, he unwillingly offers the Society more than they deserve.

Author Faith Noel brings you The Hot Spring Lion’s Society, available for order (in eBook format) on Amazon in just a few days! The perfect novel for lovers of dark academia and books like Harry Potter or Sherlock Holmes. With a rare genre of magical realism, and not a single character the reader can trust, The Hot Spring Lion’s Society breaks so many fiction norms.
Stick around for character introductions and novel aesthetics. Promise you will not be disappointed!
Book Blurb:
The beginning of this journey all starts with a train. A man, content with being miserable, and a woman beautiful in face, but deceitful in mind. Beckett Gray is a genius, born and bred, with a propensity for trouble and trickery. Rilla Allain is the woman he claims to have once been in love with, despite her being much older, and quite frankly, wishing he would die. When the two are paired together by The Society for an all new, team assignment, things seem grim. Two boarding schools and two students might just be the thing they need to get through the story about a train, a man content with being miserable, and a woman, deceitful in mind.
