She had to admit, it hurt. She had trusted the man, believed that she would be safe under the Branwen’s supervision as she travelled. But instead she was ambushed by a threat she hadn’t known she should look for, an attack that left her in a comatose state until the same woman loosed another arrow into her chest, ending her short life and birthing the new whole Fall Maiden.

“However many it takes? Ozpin, you are putting the burden of saving the world on the backs of children! This isn’t their fight, you are sending them to their deaths.”

The figure appears from thin air, her translucent appearance bathed in a faint orange glow. The ghost would approach slowly, hood concealing her face yet by now she was surely familiar to him. As he was to her. Hands once by her side lift to pull down her hood, revealing the scarred visage of Amber Autumn, the murdered ex-maiden. Her gaze a mixture of betrayal and anger.

“Ozpin…”

“I am not here to ‘haunt’ you, Ozpin.” She starts, her expression almost mournful now. “I just want to ask you this... How many more must die for you? That girl was killed too, wasn’t she? The one who was to inherit the remainder of my powers.”
