For a couple months, I worked as a barista. During that time I learned that people, generally, have no idea what they’re actually ordering. This is fine, until they complain that they got what they asked for instead of what they wanted. One customer in particular complained that her ICED AMERICANO with SKIM MILK tasted watery. For those who don’t understand, let me break that down for you:

Ice: water

Americano: an espresso shot diluted with water

Skim milk: milk flavored water

She got upset because, like an idiot, I explained the issue to her instead of just making her a latte or something and lying to say I made it wrong the first time. She ended up complaining to my manager that I was being confrontational, and I had to get conflict resolution training.

Please google what you’re ordering if you don’t know what it is. Or just ask the barista if it’s not busy. I shouldn’t get in trouble because you ordered something you weren’t going to like
