Right now I sell lights. I want to be a baker some day with my own bakery. Guess I'd better learn to bake right? Come with me as I struggle through my culinary crusade!
The 2019 update - I’m still here! I so rarely post anymore, that I figured I’d update and then go back to lurking for several more months. I always have Tumblr running in the background while I’m at work, so I’m listening and liking posts, even if I’m not making new ones of my own. But just in case anyone’s interested here’s what’s happening in the House of Vengeance.
Me - I don’t often get to to do special cakes anymore - mostly our own kids birthdays. But I did get to do one for my daycare lady’s oldest daughter last month, so it felt really good to flex those skills. Hopefully, as my kids get older I can do more of that. I DID get to participate in our local farmer’s market with a variety of baked goods, and I’ll be going back to that this April. Vengelet even got to sell perler bead magnets!
Wifey - Still amazing, still teaching, still being an amazing wife and mother. She got back into her chorus this year, so that’s a good outlet for her musicality.
Vengelet - Vengelet is an amazing seven years old. She struggled through first grade, but is absolutely crushing second. She loves reading, video games, arts and crafts, being funny, and her younger sister - most of time.
Vengelodon - Vengelodon is two, with all that entails. She’s having a rough go of it, as many two year olds do, but she also has a bit of a speech delay, which makes everything that much harder. She’s been making tons of progress though, and she gets to go to preschool in the fall, which will be a rough transition, but one that will be so good for her. Her personality is really starting to come out, and she is going to be a force to be reckoned with as she gets older.
Zoe the wondercat - This was the hardest part of last year. We had to put Zoe down in September after a very short, but very hard fight with what we assume was cancer. She was such a wonderful sweet cat, and it feels cruel that we got such a short time with her and her brother, Ike, but they were truly amazing pets, whom we’ll always remember.
You’ve been updated! I’ll see you all in 2020! Or at Halloween at the very least!
Wifey: I just don’t GET anime. It’s too weird for me.
Me: That’s the thing, yes it’s weird, but that’s just part of the genre. There are still amazing characters and stories hidden in that weird that are just SO good that you accept the weirdness because only in this weird world could you have this story or these characters!
One of the things I haven’t mentioned this year is that I’ve been leading Vengelet’s Daisy Troop. It’s been super fun and rewarding to do, even if I get asked every meeting why I’m the leader since I’m a BOY. Our year is coming to a close, and last weekend we got to participate in the Pinewood Derby. The girls had a BLAST. Three of them won design awards, one came in third place, and Vengelet came in second, with her aptly named car, Cuter CutiePaws. I’m so proud of these amazing little Daisies!
Me: Hi, Sweetie! How was the mud battle at camp today?
Vengelet: Good! I poured a bucket of mud in Jackson's mouth!
Me:...What?
Vengelet: Jackson was talking and I snuck up behind him and poured a bucket of mud in his open mouth.
Me: That's not very nice, why did you do that?
Vengelet: Because he called me a crybaby.
Me:...That was a year ago. On your first day of kindergarten.
Vengelet: Yes.
Apparently, don't mess with my daughter. Vengeance runs deep in this one.
Had an eruption last night. “Exorcism” level. Soaked herself, mom, dad, the floor, the bad. Four separate geysers. Look how pleased with herself she is though!
