The first part of the review translated to English:
Netflix's new hospital movie wiped the floor with us.
It’s a real emotional roller coaster.
Why are we so excited by serial killer stories? There are several possible answers to this question. There are psychologists who explain this mass phenomenon by saying that people simply like to be exposed to sick, dark minds while sitting at home, in the utmost safety in front of the TV. According to other doctors dealing with psychology, it is more than that, a kind of defense mechanism. We want to know what drives a recidivist killer and find out the big secret, that is how to avoid becoming a victim.
That's why the case of Charles Cullen is so creepy, because the man, serving multiple life sentences, committed murders from 1988 to 2003 while working as a nurse. Although he only confessed to 29 crimes, he is said to have killed patients in more than 400 cases. People who were lying in bed vulnerable, waiting for healing.”
Netflix's new film, The Good Nurse, released on October 26 2022, follows a similar approach to Dahmer: it doesn't make the serial killer its main character, it doesn't want to humanize this madman, instead we see everything through the eyes of Amy Loughren, who's burying herself in work and has a serious heart condition. That as Charles arrives at his new job and the slightly withdrawn, but fundamentally good-looking guy begins to nurse patients. Then one patient dies unexpectedly, and then another... and the police, who would investigate the stories, are hounded by the hospital's management, which switches to defensive mode. So much so that the investigators are concretely banned from the building. This is where Amy comes in, although she is a good friend to Charles at first, she caves in and starts helping the investigation. The goal? To take down the serial killer.
The Good Nurse is a real Cold War film, only it takes place within the walls of a hospital. The end result could easily have been boring, but with good sense, two acting giants such as Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne were cast for the main roles. These two are the ones who play a cat-and-mouse game in the slow-moving story, thanks to their well-chosen facial expressions, these real-life characters really come to life.
JESSICA CHASTAIN IS EXPERIENCED IN GOOD GIRL ROLES, AND HERE SHE IS HER LOVELY, NORMAL NURSE... GETTING WHAT SHE NEEDS OUT OF ROUTINE. HOWEVER, THE VICIOUS REDMAYNE IS A HUGE SURPRISE IN THE MOVIE. SO FAR, WE'VE SEEN THE STAR OF THE DANISH GIRL MAINLY ALSO AS A GOOD GUY, SO WE HONESTLY WONDERED HOW LONG HE'D GO ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Perhaps audiences won't embrace Eddie Redmayne as much for this movie as they did with Evan Peters for Dahmer. However, in our opinion, the psychopath from The Good Nurse presented an even creepier performance than Ryan Murphy's favorite. Because Redmayne hides in the role of Charles until the end, he denies it, but you can still feel that something is not right with this guy, and at the end, his true, mentally ill self bursts out with a big bang...
The Good Nurse is also available with dubbing and Hungarian subtitles on Netflix. 8/10

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL MCCARTNEY! ↬  June 18th, 1942, Liverpool
❝ It’s a mystery how all this happened. People stop me in the street, and they can get very emotional. They say, ‘Your music changed my life,’ and I know what they mean – that The Beatles brought something very important to their lives. But it’s still a mystery, and I don’t mind ending up being a mystery. ❞

Paul McCartney Specials & Documentaries: A Masterpost
Here is a list of Interviews/Mini Specials/Documentaries on Paul McCartney. I’ve separated them into decades, with the focus being on Paul’s influences and overall creative output as a musician. There are also sweet anecdotes and behind the scenes footage too. Enjoy!
The 1960s - The Beatles Era
Paul McCartney on the David Frost Show
Paul gives a solo interview to television host David Frost in 1964. This is the famous interview in which Frost jokingly believed Paul would have retired by 2010. There is a follow up to this interview which took place in 2012, you can find it here.
Paul McCartney BBC Interview
Paul gives a solo interview for the BBC in 1968. He discusses the power of music and how it can change people’s perceptions.
The 1970s - First Solo Projects, Wings
The Making of Ram
Ram was a big turning point in McCartney’s solo career. Different and unique, some say it was an album ahead of it’s time. Here, Paul talks about the motives behind making the album.
Wingspan
This is a great documentary on the formation of Paul’s band ‘Wings’. Great for people who want to learn more about Paul’s life and career in the 1970s. Uploaded in nine parts.
Wings Over The World: Behind the Scenes
This is a lovely behind the scenes look at Paul McCartney and Wings on tour. It’s hilarious and has some great footage.

The 1990s -Looking Back
Paul McCartney Bob Costas Interview
Paul McCartney on his personal and creative differences with John Lennon, their partnership, and what he believes the Beatles were all about. If you only decide to watch one interview with Paul talking about his Beatle days, this one stands up among the best.
The 2000s - Moving Forward
Paul McCartney at Hog Hill Mill Studios
Paul is joined by Klaus Voormann and Ringo Starr where they share a sweet reunion full of funny quips.
Produced by George Martin //Link Down//
A selection of highlights from the BBC show about the Beatles producer George Martin. Paul McCartney and George Martin reminisce about what it was like in the studio, and Martin gives a nice analogy of McCartney and Lennon’s musicianship.
Chaos and Creation At Abbey Road
In this special, Paul goes through the whole musical process involved in making albums such as Sgt. Pepper all in the space of one hour. Near the end of the special, Paul demonstrates how to record a song on the spot using various instruments, he then proceeds to play every instrument in the room!
Paul McCartney at Rollins College
Paul visits students at Rollins College where he explains how he composes a song, and gives tips to aspiring songwriters. The audience then have the opportunity to have their questions answered by Paul. There is a lovely rendition of Blackbird to end the session.

“It was the singers who taught the First Men to send messages by raven … but in those days, the birds would speak the words. The trees remember, but men forget, and so now they write the messages on parchment and tie them round the feet of birds who have never shared their skin.”
A Dance with Dragons ( A Song of Ice and Fire #5) by George R.R. Martin
