 Early Life and EducationÂ
Maddie was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and was the only child of Natalie and Evan Grey, who served in the U.S. military. Natalie was a well-established doctor before she moved to El Paso and settled down. Natalie passed away shortly before Maddieâs second birthday and with no living relatives Maddie was given to her motherâs best friend and her family. Maddie was closest to her brother Eddie and Isobel, their grandmother. Isobel strongly encouraged Maddie to become a doctor from a young age as she saw how passionate and caring Maddie was, especially when playing doctors.
As a child, Maddie was extremely bright, and this led her to skipping third grade. When Maddie was seven, her adopted parents threw her a surprise party, which she always rememberers as being one of her best birthdays.
Maddie was popular by both peers and teachers at college, and this led her to being voted student body president
Her photographic memory also made her one of the brightest in her class and she knew all the periodic elements. Her kind nature made her a friend to everyone she met, and it was hard to dislike her. But God forbid anyone who hurt her as they would have to deal with Edmundo who was very protective of his little sister.Â
 Med School
Maddie wanted to be a doctor since preschool and practiced medicine by putting bandages on her teddy bears and monitoring Eddieâs vitamins. With some encouragement from her grandmother Maddie was determined to go to Med School.
During Maddieâs four years of Med school her brother and his wife gave birth to Eddieâs son Christopher Diaz- who through complications during birth was born with cerebral palsy.
Maddie took on the role of being Eddie and Shannon (Eddieâs wife)âs rock and when Eddie enlisted into the army and was sent to Afghanistan she filled in the roll of supporting Shannon through Christopherâs diagnosis and hospital trips.Â
Balancing Med school and helping to care for Christopher took a lot of effort but Maddie made it work, in the end she graduated at the top of her class and was accepted into a residency at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the East Coast. This meant leaving behind her family.
 Relationship with Eddie
Despite the three-year age gap Eddie and Maddie were very close and had a strong relationship from a young age. Often it felt like it was them against the world, especially when it came to their parents who were overly attentive to them. Maddie and Eddie were not only siblings but best friends. While growing up Maddie and Eddie started a tradition that they would always have a united-front, and promised to look out for each other, they used a pinkie-swear to enforce this promise and to this day it has stuck.
Maddie and Eddie remained close throughout their teenage years and into their twenties, both shared an interest in becoming doctors, and Eddie was very supportive of Maddie and her choice to attend Med school. Maddie was supportive of Eddieâs relationship with Shannon and was his âbest manâ at the wedding. During Maddieâs four years of med school Eddie enlisted into the army and he stayed in close contact with her, even if they couldnât see each other as much as they would have liked.
Maddie was more supportive of Eddie joining the army than their parents, but that didnât mean she liked the idea either. Maddie supported Shannon throughout the pregnancy in place of Eddieâs absence. When Eddie returned for a short while between tours Maddie helped him deal with the nightmares and trauma that came with being in the army.
Maddie and Eddie always faced life together and they support each other on everything they did, so when it came to the decision Maddie would do her residency in Boston Eddie was supportive even if being apart was not an ideal situation- especially when it meant that Eddie, now a single-parent, would have less help. But they both knew it was necessary for her to develop her full potential as a doctor. Eddie couldnât be prouder of his sister.
 Family Relationship
The Diaz family were close, all pulling together to support each other when they needed- most of the time. Maddieâs parents were too fond of Eddieâs idea to join the army to support his family, this put a strain on all their relationships. Maddie often found herself acting as a ref between the parents and Eddie especially when it came to how Christopher should be cared for. Just before Maddie moved to Boston Eddie informed her that their parents wanted Eddie to place Christopher into their care, permanently, something which he did not agree with. Maddie understood that Eddie was doing everything he could for his son, but he had already missed a lot of his life through his army work.
Maddie moved to Boston and after a few weeks Eddie decided that he and Christopher would follow to be near the family, their aunty and grandmother also lived in Boston. Eddie started a job as a firefighter and despite the long hours he was able to be a better father to Christopher than ever.
 Love Life
Maddie had some romantic experiences, but her relationships often came at the bottom of her list of importance, so she decided to focus on her family and worked towards being a doctor at Edenbrook hospital.
 âââââââ àłáŠđșáŠàł âââââââ
  Facts
Maddie is fluent in quite a few languages. To most peopleâs surprise English wasnât her first language- it was Spanish.
On a rainy day, she likes to have a cup of coffee while reading a good book.
Surprisingly has a good singing voice.
Can also play instruments including, guitar and piano
She likes it when someone's fingers are brushed through her hair.
If Maddie were a cartoon character, she would like to be Velma from Scooby-Doo.
She learned how to make âDeath By Chocolate Cakeâ from her grandmother. It is also her favorite thing to bake.
She used to play softball and basketball while growing up.
Enjoys taking photographs in her spare time.
Isobel was the person who gave Maddie her copy of Ethan Ramseyâs book. Maddie   used to borrow the book from the library for her own investigations for the advanced biology class in her senior year in high school, but she always complained that she couldnât make notes in the book. So, Isobel decided to give her the book as a Christmas present to give her one final push to   convince her to go to medical school.

AN ~ Part 2 of Almost is never enough. Pre-warning, I've never written shut before so this could turn out badly.
Warning: Strong language, smut, NSFW content. Please use discretion and caution when viewing.

"Because, I couldn't marry him because I still love you"
The words buzzed around Ethan's head, especially those three little words he had waited for seven years to hear again.
Casey was looking up at him through her long lashes. His mouth opened slightly in silent surprise.
The pause between them felt like it stretched for an eternity, and Ethan's fingers itched to touch her, to make her his once again.
With every ounce of his control, he took a step towards Casey, her warm eyes stayed trailed on his figure as he gently tilted her chin upwards to gaze into her eyes.
"You love me?" He whispered.
"Always" Casey breathed.
With a soft groan Ethan bent down and captured Casey's mouth with his own.
Casey kissed back immediately, sinking into the kiss as she stood on her tiptoes to get a better angle. Her arms wrapped around his neck fingers threading into the short dark hairs at the nape.
How was it possible she tasted ever better than Ethan ever imagined?
Casey felt Ethan grab her backside and he bent slightly to allow her to jump into his arms, her legs wrapped around his waist.
They kissed frantically, Ethan stumbled as he walked attempting to head to the bedroom but he was so distracted by the woman in front of him he only made it to the couch.
They fell back into the couch, Ethan managed to land in a seated position with Casey on top of him. His hands were in her soft hair and their faces were pressed together as their kisses become more erotic.
One of Ethan's large hands slid from her hair and moved under the shirt that barley covered her body, his fingers gripped the soft, warm flesh.
Ethanâs lips dropped to Casey's neck and he bit her hard making her yelp in surprise. Ethan ran his tongue over the bite soothing the pain.
"Ethan" Casey breathed out, his fingers dug harder into her flesh as he began to slowly rock Casey back and forth over his hard erection, her body responded quivering with pleasure.
Oh God, he felt so good, Casey thought.
âYouâre so beautiful, Caseyâ Ethan whispered in awe against her neck.
Casey let out a small moan, especially as Ethanâs hand slipped from her waist to between them, Casey lifted herself slightly to allow him to sweep his fingers through her wet, swollen flesh.
âFuck me, youâre so wet darlingâ Ethan breathed out. His fingers circled her clitoris and his mouth attacked her neck with hot, wet kisses, his stubbled leaving a delicious burn.
âPlease, donât stopâ Casey whimpered as she worked her hips to the rhythm he had set. Ethan groaned as Casey tugged on his hair pulling his head from her shoulder blade so she could kiss him.
âCasey...â Ethan groaned again against her lips. He could feel her getting close so he pulled his fingers away.
âW-what?â Casey blinked rapidly almost whimpering from the loss of his fingers on her body as she pulled from the kiss.
âNot yet love, I want to saviour this, we have all nightâ Ethan told her using his other hand to brush stands of her hair from her face.
âWe can always have secondsâ Casey breathed out, running her hands through his short dark waves, her nails scraping his scalp.
âCâmon, letâs get comfierâ Ethan placed a gentle kiss to her lips, then her forehead as he squeezed her hips for her to climb off him.
Casey obeyed, slipping off his lap and stood. Ethan followed and wrapped his arms around her waist, her arms wrapped around his neck as he buried his face into her neck, breathing in her scent deeply.
After all those years apart, she still smelt heavenly. God had he missed her. After a moment of just holding each other, Ethan untangled himself from Casey and gently took her hand and lead her into the bedroom.
He remembered the first time they had been in here, how he had shown her the view from the large window. He had told her it was the best he had ever seen it, which was completely true. But tonight, he simply wanted her in his bed.
Casey stood in front of him, clearly waiting for him to tell her what to do. But Ethan found himself lost for words, Casey stood before him was just too beautiful to look away from.
âYouâre staringâ Casey whispered, a small teasing tone laced her voice. She pulled her plush, kiss-bruised lip between her teeth.
âI knowâ Ethan replied huskily as he reached out and gently tugged the offending flesh from her teeth with his thumb. Casey reacted quickly pulling his thumb into her mouth and gave it a light suck.
âCaseyâ he hissed lightly, as he teeth lightly scraped his soft pad.
âWhat is it Ethan?â she asked allowing the digit to slip from her mouth. âTell me, what do you want to do to me?â
Ethan shook his head lost for words, he reached out and began to unbutton the shirt. Casey watched him work, and after a moment, the soft material slipped from her body allowing Ethan to take in every inch of her. The lacy thong was the only thing obstructing his view.Â
Almost eagerly, Ethan pulled the material from her body, practically ripping the material. Unbothered he tossed it to the side and quickly surged forward to capture Caseyâs lips in a heated kiss. Â
Casey gently pushed Ethan until he fell onto his bed, the kiss breaking for a moment. Ethan watched as Casey hovered over him for a moment before she began to strip him from his bottoms.
Ethan groaned as his erection sprang free and Casey moved her body over his, Ethan shook his head lightly and grabbed her waist, flipping them over so he hovered over her.
Casey laid against the soft sheets, her hair spread around her face in a soft halo. Ethan admired every inch of her body, the sight before him exceeded the image that had been burned into his mind.
He kissed her tenderly and loving at first, as he gently slipped inside her. Casey moaned softly as he slowly eased himself in and out. His breaths came ragged, and he jerks and shudders.
âW-whatâs wrong?â Casey asked, holding his face, his blue eyes met her warm ones.
âFuck.â He groaned shaking his head slightly. âCasey, you feel too good. I can hardly hold it.â
"I know, I know" Casey whispered back.
It had been so long since they had been together that everything was intensified. The slightest movement made her feel like she was about to burst. Ethan moved slowly at first in attempt to prolong the feeling of being inside her.
Her walls gripped him so perfectly like they were meant to be for each other. Ethan grabbed Casey's right ankle and wrapped her leg around his hip, and then he began some kind of heavenly circular rhythm, making Casey feel like she was going out of her damn mind.
The sound of their love filled the room, Ethan groaned into Casey's neck as he felt himself getting closer to his release. Their fingers were laced together and their breaths mixed.
"So fucking good" he groaned.
"I-I'm so close Ethan" Casey panted, Ethan picked up his pace, his hips met hers in a harsher pace.
Ethan's other hand found it's way underneath Casey's behind as he lifted her body onto his so his dick was deep inside her⊠stretching her in ways that feel impossible. His teeth dug into her soft flesh, hard enough to leave a mark. His tongue darted out to sooth the skin.
"Ethan!" Casey cried out as her pleasure peeked and she came hard.
"Casey, fuck, fuck" Ethan grunted as he followed behind her.
Ethan stilled above Casey, his face moved from her shoulder with a gentle kiss to rest against her forehead.
They were both panting as Casey removed her leg from his waist. She smiled softly as she gently ran her hands through Ethan's slightly damp hair.
"I love you" Ethan told her as he stared into her eyes as he caught his breath.
"I love you too" Casey smiled. "Always"

Ever After
Prince Ethan x MCÂ Â
A twist on A Cinderella storyÂ
SUMMURY: Casey, a beautiful young woman, is treated as a servant by her stepmother and stepsisters. One day, she crosses paths with Prince Ethan, heir to the kingdom, who falls in love with her.

There are those who swear that Perrultâs telling of Cinderella with its fairy godmother and magic pumpkins would be closer to the truth than many of the other versions, one including the legendary slippers to be made of fur.
Perhaps its time to set the record straight; whatâs that phase?
Once upon a time...
There lived a young girl who loved her father very much. Her father was a merchant who went abroad and often brought a tribute back for his darling daughter. Casey missed him terribly when he was away, but knew he would always return.Â
Caseyâs mother had passed away not long after Casey was born. Her father had started to believe it was time for change, hopefully for the better. Upon his travels he met and fell in love with Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent and the two married quickly making their little family complete with the addition of Rodmilla and her two stepdaughters.
But like all stories, there is an unhappy event. One day as Caseyâs father was leaving for a new trade, he had a heart attack and sadly passed away. It would be ten years before another man who would enter her life, a man who was still a boy in many, many ways.
In the years that passed since her fatherâs passing Casey became more of a servant than a member of the family. She worked hard, allowing the hard chores as a distraction from the grief of losing her father.
Luckily, she still had the other servants who she had grown up with and loved like family. Unfortunately, Rodmilla was used to the luxurious lifestyle and the household fell into debt, one of the servants- Elijah had been sold in attempt to pay off some of the debt.
Casey found herself in the forest that was near the house, she picked apples for the household to enjoy. Casey picked an apple and was studying it when the sound of hooves caught her attention. The palace guards rode past her paying her no heed.
Once satisfied with the apples Casey made her way back to the house when a horses whining caught her attention. Curiously, she paused in her walk.
âCome on, you stupid beastâ she heard a manâs voice follow.
She watched as a man on the back of one of the families horses jumped the hedge and galloped near.
âOh, no, you donâtâ Casey shook her head running towards the man, dropping most of the apples from her hold.
Taking one of the apples Casey threw it hard at the man effectively knocking him from the horse. The man tumbled from horseback and fell into the hay. Casey grabbed more apples from the ground.
âThief!â she yelled at the man, attacking him with apples. âThis will teach you for trying to steal my fathers horse!â
Another satisfying hit to the man, who attempted to scrambled to his feet, a cloak covered his head and face.
âPlease, my own slipped his shoe. I have no choiceâ The man said as Casey attacked him with more apples.
âAnd our choice is what? To let you?â Casey asked him.
âI was borrowing it!âÂ
âGet out, or Iâll wake the houseâ Casey warned him pelting him with another hit.
âOw!âÂ
The man managed to get the cloak from his head, and stand up enough for Casey to see his handsome face, dark hair and blue eyes. Imminently, she recognised him to be the prince. With a gasp, Casey fell to her knees, dropping the apples.
âForgive me, your highness. I did not see youâ Casey said bowing her head to the ground, not daring to look up at the man before her. Prince Ethan looked down, realising he was wearing the royal coat of arms- clearly visible.
âYour aim would suggest otherwiseâ Ethan said, rubbing at the welt that was forming on his head. She had a powerful arm.
âAnd for that I know I must dieâÂ
âThen er-â Ethan hesitated, he was not about to be caught by his guards. âspeak of this to no-one and er- I shall be lenientâ
Ethan climbed back onto the horse, he glanced down at the young woman. She had long dark brown- almost black hair with a thin braid. She glanced up at him for a split second.
âWe have other horses, Highnessâ she told him. âYounger, if that is your wishâ
âI wish for nothing more than to be free of my gilded cage.â he found himself telling her. âFor your silenceâ
He tipped a number of gold coins onto the ground in front of her, with one last look at the young woman he clicked his tongue and rode off.
Casey looked up watching the dark haired prince ride off with her horse. She wondered what had brought him to run away from home. Glancing down at the coins before her, Casey sucked in a deep breath.
There was a lot of money, quite possibly enough to buy back Elijah! But the only problem was her stepmother, if she caught wind of money- it would be gone in a heartbeat. Casey picked up the gold coins, carefully tucking them into her dress before she stood and started to pick up the apples.
This might just be her lucky day, first the prince speared her life and now she would be able to help her family, with Elijah back, his girlfriend would be reunited with him and that would mean the world to her.
Casey made her way quickly to the house once she finished picking up the apples. She had just entered when she heard her name being yelled by her stepmother.
"Coming!" Casey called back, tipping the apples into a basket.
"Ooh, she's in one of her moods." Jackie warned her as she entered the room with the two older women.
"Did the sun rise in the east?" Sienna asked looking at Casey's bright smile.
"Yes, Sienna, it did" Casey said tipping the gold coins onto the table. "And it is going to be a beautiful day."
The two women gasped at the sight, taking a step closer to the table.
"Look at all those feathers! Child, where did you get this?" Jackie asked.
"From an angel of mercy. And I know just what to do with them." Casry smiled at Sienna.
"Elijah?"
"If the baroness can sell your boyfriend to pay her taxes, then these can certainly bring him home." Casey told her. "The court will have to let him go."
"But the king has sold him to Cartier. He's bound for the Americas." Sienna shook her head.
Casey moved around the room, picking up a cup of salt and the bread.
"This is our home, and I will not see it fall apart." Casey told her firmly, putting a hand to her shoulder.
"We are waiting!" Rodmilla called.
"Oh, take heed, mistress, or these coins are as good as hers." Jackie warned her putting the coins back into Casey's dress handing her another plate.
"Morning, madam." Casey greeted as she entered the room where her mother and two stepsisters sat eating breakfast. "Marguerite. Jacqueline."
"Hello." Jacqueline replied softly.
"I trust you slept well."
"What kept you?" Rodmilla questioned as Casey put the salt carefully on the table.
"I fell off the ladder in the orchard, but I am better now." Casey told her.
"Someone's been reading in the fireplace again. Look at you, ash and soot everywhere." Marguerite commented in distaste.
"Some people read because they cannot think for themselves." Rodmilla said as Casey put the bread onto the table.
"Why don't you sleep with the pigs, cinder-soot, if you insist on smelling like one?" Marguerite told Casey.
"Ooh, that was harsh, Marguerite. Casey, come here, child." Rodmilla grabbed Casey's hands. "Your appearance does reflect a certain crudeness, my dear. What can I do to make you try?"
"I do try, Stepmother. I do wish to please you." Casey told her. "Sometimes, I sit on my own and try to think of what else I could do, how I should act-"
"Oh, calm down, child. Relax."
"Perhaps if we brought back Elijah, I would not offend you so." Casey suggested.
"It is your manner that offends, Casey. Throughout these hard times, I have sheltered you, clothed you and cared for you." Rodmilla said. "All that I ask in return is that you help me here without complaint. Is that such an extraordinary request?"
"No, my lady."
"Very well. We shall have no more talk of servants coming back. Is that quite understood?"
"Yes, my lady." Casey nodded as she turned to leave.
"After all that I do, after all I have done, it's never enough." Rodmilla turned to her daughters as Casey left the room.
If Rodmilla wasn't willing to help get Elijah back, then she was going to do it herself. Casey had a plan.
Dressed in a nice light blue dress and her face clean, Casey made her way to the castle where she knew Elijah would be. She spotted the cage where men were being pushed into. It set off.
Casey ran up stopping the men from leaving by grabbing the rein of the horse.
"I wish to address the issue of this gentleman." Casey told the man on the waggon with the cage, motioning to Elijah.
"He is my servant, and I am here to pay the debt against him."
"You're too late. He's bought and paid for." The man told her.
"I can pay you 20 gold francs."
"Madam, you can have me for 20 gold francs. Now drive on!" the man ordered but Casey stood her ground.
"I demand you release him at once, or I shall take this matter to the king." Casey demanded.
"The king's the one that sold him. He's now the property of Cartier."
"He is not property at all, you ill- mannered tub of guts." Casey said furiously. "Do you honestly think it right to chain people like chattel?"
"I demand you release him at once." Casey repeated stepping closer to the cage.
"Get out of my way!" the man yelled in her face.
"You dare raise your voice to a lady, sir?" a voice called out to them.
Casey turned to find Prince Ethan sat on a horse watching them. She bowed her head at him respectfully.
"Your Highness." the man chuckled. "For- Forgive me, sire. Uh, I meant no disrespect."
"Uh, it's just, uh, I'm following orders here. It's my job to take these criminals and thieves to the coast."
"A servant is not a thief, Your Highness, and those who are cannot help themselves." Casey turned to look at Prince Ethan. The attention of the many people were now on them.
"Really? Well, then, by all means... enlighten us" Ethan motioned a hand for Casey to continue.
"If you suffer your people to be ill- educated, and their manners corrupted from infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them" Casey told him passionatly.
"What else is to be concluded, sire, but that you first make thieves and then punish them?"
"Well, there you have it. Release him." Ethan ordered the man after a moment.
"But, sire-"
"I said release him."
"Yes, sire. The man nodded getting down to release Elijah. Casey followed behind, but sent Ethan a thankful smile over her shoulder.
"I thought I was looking at your mother." Elijah said as he hugged Casey, she handed the man the bag of gold coins.
"Meet me at the bridge." Casey whispered to Elijah.
"Prepare the horses. We will leave at once." Casey announced in a louder voice. Elijah, curious nodded and walked off quickly.
Casey made her way over to Prince Ethan, she curtsied slightly.
"I thank you, Your Highness." she told him sincerely before she set off wanting to get away in case he recognised her or someone realised she wasn't a courtier.
Ethan climbed down off his horse and followed after the woman that had peeked his intrest.
"Have we met?" Ethan frowned at her.
"I do not believe so, Your Highness."
"I could have sworn I knew every courtier in the province." Ethan told her.
"Well, I am visiting a cousin" Casey said thinking quickly as Ethan walked alongside her.
"Who?"
"My cousin."
"Yes, you said that. Which one?"
"Th-The only one I have, sire."
"Are you coy on purpose, or do you honestly refuse to tell me your name?" Ethan almost huffed.
"No. And yes."
Casey paused for a moment before she continued walking briskly.
"Well, then, pray, tell me your cousin's name, so that I might call upon her to learn who you are." Ethan said walking in front of her and backwards so he could still see her.
Ethan stopped for a moment letting her brush past him.
"For anyone who can quote Thomas More is well worth the effort."
This made Casey stop and turn to face Ethan. She was intrigued that he knew of the book.
"The prince has read Utopia?"
"I found it sentimental and dull." Ethan told her as he took a few steps towards her.
"I confess, the plight of the everyday rustic bores me."
"I gather you do not converse with many peasants." Casey noted as Ethan stepped closer again.
"Certainly not. No, naturally." Ethan gave a light scoff.
"Excuse me, sire, but there is nothing natural about it." Casey shook her head lightly, frowning at him as she walked away.
"A country's character is defined by its 'everyday rustics,' as you call them. They are the legs you stand on, and that position demands respect not-"
"Am I to understand that you find me arrogant?" Ethan raised an eyebrow as he stepped in front of her again, standing close to her.
From this distance Casey could see the prince had bright blue eyes and feel the warmth from his body.
"Well, you gave one man back his life, but did you even glance at the others?" Casey glanced back at the others who were still imprisoned, Ethan followed her gaze.
She had a point.
Casey started walking again making Ethan follow.
"Please, I beg of you. A name. Any name."
"I fear that the only name to leave you with is Comtesse Sophia de Lancret." Casey told him.
"There now. That wasn't so hard." Ethan smiled at her.
"Ethan!"
The pair paused again for a moment, Ethan turned to find his mother heading their way.
Casey used this distraction to slip away from the prince. A small smile stayed on her face as she and Elijah made their way home.

Look After You
Ethan x Casey Valentine.
Casey comforts Ethan after the events of OH 3.3.
Warning: mature content but overall fluffy.

Summer comes fast, the sky blazes blue and the sun is a celebration of yellow, free and bright. The trees rise to the occasion, donning their best verdant hues, and everywhere are the flowers, the scattered rainbow that they are.
Casey shivered lightly as a cool breeze blew over her making her blonde hair fly around her face.
Moving closer to the taller doctor in attempt to keep warm Casey threaded her arm through Ethan's as they strolled down the pavement towards the T station.
The pair chatted lightly and for once they made no reference to the hospital especially given the recent events, including the reveal of Bloom's new plans and a better insight to his true personality.
The two shared soft smiles especially as Ethan tugged Casey closer placing a gentle kiss to the side of her head. Casey's cheeks were rosey red both from the display of affection from the older doctor and the cold.
The train ride was quite and uneventful, they passed the time by Ethan reading a newspaper with Casey's head resting on his shoulder as she scrolled through her social media on her phone.
Casey's stomach flipped at the normality of the situation, this is what she wanted more than anything- the knot that had been present the last few days had began to ease.
At Ethan's apartment, the pair stepped inside the warmth and was greeted by excited barks from Jenner, who let Ethan give him a pat before he immediately bounded for Casey.
"Hey boy, did you miss me?" she asked rubbing her hands over the dog's face.
After a few moments of fussing over Jenner Casey toed off her shoes and followed Ethan further into the apartment to find him in the kitchen pouring them a glass of wine.
Casey moved over to Ethan and wrapped her arms around his middle from behind, burying her face into his back. Ethan stiffened automatically but relaxed at once.
Casey stood on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to Ethan's cheek before she moved away and turned to walk back into the apartment.
Ethan instantly missed her warmth as he turned around with a frown wondering where Casry had disappeared to. Shrugging to himself, Ethan began to pull out some ingredients for dinner.
Absorbed in his task of looking for substance to feed them, Ethan jumped when a soft hand touched his shoulder.
"Sorry, I just wanted to show you something" Casey's voice came from his side, amusement in her tone.
"Oh?" Ethan raised a skeptical eyebrow.
Casey rolled her eyes as she took his larger hand in her small one. Ethan allowed her to pull him through the apartment towards the bathroom.
Inside he found a bubble bath already drawn and he could see steam difting from the water.
"I thought we could take a bath together, let me look after you" Casey said softly.
Ethan looked down at Casey, he gently ran his knuckles over her cheek before he bent down, cupping her cheeks and pulled her into a kiss.
"Okay" he breathed.
Moments later Ethan found himself leaning against Casey's chest in the warmth of the water, which was surprisingly not to hot. Ethan closed his eyes enjoying the peacefulness of the rare silence.
"I'm gonna wash your hair for you, okay?" Casey whispered in his ear.
Casey grabbed a cup from the side of the bath and dipped it into the baby water, carefully she poured it over Ethan's head, the dark brown turning darker.
Once satisfied with that Casey grabbed his shampoo and squirted a bit onto her hands before she massaged it into his hair.
The feeling of her fingers raking through his hair and the gentle scrape of her nails on his head was almost enough to send Ethan into a peaceful haze. His back was against her soft skin, their legs tangled together in the water.
After rinsing and conditioning Ethan's hair, Casey started on washing Ethan's body. Starting with his shoulders.
She massaged his shoulders, not only rubbing in the soap but rubbing out some of the knotts. Ethan let out a small groan of pleasure causing a soft smile to on Casey's lips.
As she washed his chest Casey placed soft kisses to Ethan's neck as she worked.
"Feels so good" Ethan whispered.
Casey smiled more, placing a kiss to his cheek as she moved her hands down his body to start his legs.
Ethan's head rested his head on Casey's shoulder, turning slightly to watch Casey as she worked. He was captivated by the way she looked. Her hair was damp from the water, a few droplets hung to her long eyelashes. Her eyes were focused on her task and her plush bottom lip was pulled between her teeth as she concentrated.
"I can feel you staring" Casey murmured into the silence of the room, Ethan gave her a small smile that was reserved just for her.
"I like looking at beautiful things" he replied simply.
"Flattery will get you everywhere Dr Ramsey" Casey glanced at him for a moment, her cheeks flared with heat giving her a light blush.
"Hmm. I intend to after this bath" Ethan replied catching one of her hands and placed a soft kiss to the back.
"Is that a promise?"
"Definitely" Ethan nodded seriously, he moved in her arms so he could capture her lips in a kiss.
"Enough distracting me Dr Ramsey, I have work to finish" Casey said a little breathlessly as she pulled away.
Ethan reluctantly allowed her to finish washing him before she made him get out so she could wash herself. Ethan wrapped a towel around his waist as he watched Casey work on washing her hair.
Once Casey was finished in the bath, the pair dried and dressed themselves before climbing into Ethan's large bed. Casey had her head on his chest, and Ethan wrapped his arms around her, gently running a hand up and down her back.
"Thank you for today" Ethan broke the comfortable silence that had fallen upon them.
"Thank you, I love it when you let me look after you. You always look after me" Casey said, her voice laced with a sleepy tone.
Ethan chuckled, the vibration rumbling through his chest and Casey's cheek. He placed a soft kiss to the top of her head and a moment later, her soft snores filled the room.
Ethan had to admit, this was exactly what he needed. Casey was what he needed.

Heart to heart.
AN~ This is more just a friendship piece rather than romantic.
Sienna x MC Casey (platonic), Casey x Ethan (mentioned)

There's a kind of tired that needs a good night's sleep, and another that needs so much more. For Casey, one became the other, starting out as the 'one night kind' until one day it was ever present - like it once was a heavy jacket but became heavy bones.Â
Casey sighed as her head hit the back of the couch, her eyes closed as she ran a hand over her face. Her mind was buzzing with too many things to make a coherent thought.
"Okay, what's going on?" Sienna's voice pulled Casey from her thoughts.
Opening her eyes, Casey looked at her roommate and best friend who stood with her hands on her hips in attempt to look intimidating.
"Just tired" Casey muttered shaking her head.
"Case, I've known you a while know and I know that this is more than 'just tired." Sienna said taking a seat next to her friend.
Casey didn't meet Sienna's gaze as she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, debating whether or not to say what had been bothering her.
"It's just... well, it's Ethan and Harper" Casey finally said after a moment.
Sienna blinked in surprise, that wasn't what she was expecting her to be worried about.
"What about them?"
"It's stupid, really, I know that... but they are sometimes off in their own little world, sharing memories of their time together" Casey began to explain.
"Seeing them like that, and how well they fit together especially when it came to running through ideas for a diagnosis, it made me feel invisible, invasive and like I had no clue about anything"
Sienna was silent, processing her statement for a moment before she gently put her hand over her friends.
"You know, it's not stupid. I get it, they're friends and they're exes who now work closely together it's bound to throw you" Sienna said softly.
"It just reminds me that there's a big difference between Ethan and I, not only in age but career wise... and yet Harper is closer in both" Casey turned to look at her friend.
"It's not to say I'm jealous or that they can't be friends, I respect and admire Harper to much to be jealous and childish... it's more of a wake-up call that maybe Ethan and I shouldn't be together"
Sienna squeezed Casey's hand tightly, as she shook her head.
"I don't think that's true, Casey. You don't see how he looks at you, the way he brightens and is kinder just from being near you"
"But-"
"No buts. Have you ever thought that perhaps Harper and Ethan didn't work out because they were so similar?" Sienna raised an eyebrow.
"You're one of the best diagnosticians at Edenbrook, you earned your place on the team and you provide the team with a fresh new look"
Casey's eyes watered slightly as she took in Sienna's kind words. Sniffing slightly she turned and threw her arms around her friend.
"Thank you Si, I don't know what I'd do without you"
Sienna smiled and gently stroked Casey's back in soothing strokes.
"You can always talk to me Casey, I promise... but maybe you should also talk to Ethan or Harper, tell them that it's not okay to make you feel excluded"
Casey closed her eyes for a moment before she pulled away from the hug.
"Maybe... I think that I'm just overthinking things for now. I know Ethan cares for me, he wouldn't have made the gesture of kissing me in front of the hospital otherwise" Casey said.
âTrue, but Ethan might not even realise that heâs hurting you unless you tell himâ Sienna told her and Casey nodded in agreement, knowing she was right.
âYeah, youâre rightâ
âCâmon, lets have a movie night. I think I have some facemasks somewhere, we can pamper ourselves while we watch themâ Sienna offered with a gentle smile.
âSounds perfectâ

Almost Is Never Enough
Ethan x Casey Valentine.
AN ~ AU about Ethan and Casey in the future.
Thank you to @jamespotterthefirst for reading this before I posted.
Warning: mature themes.

In the five hours Ethan had been in bed, he must have woken up at least six times. The bright red glow from the digital alarm clock on his bedside table glared mockingly at him reminding him that he needed to be awake in a few short hours. Ethan rolled onto his back and stared up at his ceiling fan which was currently off due to the room being cool enough already. The rain slashed against the window, which took up a large portion of the wall.
3.45 am.
The large bed felt cold, empty as the area next to him was usually filled by a small figure who would wrap herself around him. No longer did her soft snores fill the silence of the room, stopping his mind from spiralling.
And it was all his fault.
Casey Valentine no longer occupied the bed, they had an argument about Leland Bloom and how Ethan thought he was going to try and turn them against one another. Casey had fought for them, told him that no matter what the older man tried to throw at them- they were stronger than that. But Ethan was tired, he didn't want to fight the inevitable anymore.
So Casey walked out of his apartment and then out of his life. Ethan had tried to reach out to her but she refused to talk to him, rightfully so. He had pushed away the one person he cared deeply about, almost loved But almost wasn't enough, she was gone and left a dark aching hole in his chest.
That was nearly seven years ago. Seven years since Casey had left not only him but the hospital. Seven years since he had any contact with her and even when he tried to talk to her friends who remained at the hospital, they weren't able to give him anything about Casey or her new life.
Ethan had tried to move on, looking for a new relationship and when that didn't work, threw himself into his work but nothing helped. The emptiness she had left behind couldn't be filled with anything, but drinking heavily helped easy the pain.
Most nights he would drink until he felt numb and then once the pain went he would sleep the drink off, a dark, dreamless sleep that would allow him a moment of piece until he woke again.
Ethan had been so lost in his thoughts that he nearly missed the soft knock at the his apartment door. Â He frowned deeply sitting up in his bed, he strained to listen. Nobody could come up to the door without being buzzed in, so it must have been someone in his building making a noise.
The knock came again, louder this time. cautiously, Ethan climbed out of the bed and threw a dark navy robe over his bare chest and padded bare foot across the empty apartment and opened the door, just enough to see who was on the other side.
"Ethan"
His breath left his lungs. He wasn't sure if he was awake or if he was dreaming as he took in the sight before him. Casey stood in front of him, her long hair soaking wet and sticking to her soft round face. His eyes trailed downwards, and he was surprised to find her in a simple white wedding dress.
"W-what?" he found himself mutter as his eyes trailed back up her exposed chest, it was enough to be decent but also entirely too tempting. Her eyes were their familiar mix of green, gold and brown. She looked familiar and completely different at the same time.
"Can I come in?" she asked softly.
Ethan thunderstruck, opened the door wider allowing the younger woman to step inside his apartment. The last place he ever imagined her to be after not seeing her for so long. They were silent as Ethan shut, and locked the door behind her. Casey stood a few feet away from him, looking around the apartment with her arms wrapped around her small body.
"So, are we expecting four wet bridesmaids as well or?" he asked breaking the silence that threatened to suffocate him as he leaned back against his door.
"Just me" Casey said softly as she turned to face the attending.
Ethan was surprised to find that he couldn't read the expression on her face. There was nothing in her expression that gave away why she was here in a wedding dress of all things.
She was obviously getting married, Ethan scolded himself knowing that much was obvious, but the whole what she was doing standing in his apartment in the early hours of the morning was a different question.
"Casey? What's going on?" he asked.
Casey trailed her eyes over the taller man, he looked the same. Still infuriatingly handsome and the same piercing blue eyes that would deconstruct her with a single glance. He was familiar, a comfort that had been missing for the last seven years of her life.
"I-I couldn't do it" she breathed out shaking her head slightly pulling her plush bottom lip between her teeth. "I couldn't"
Ethan's mind was racing but nothing seemed to make sense, he ran a hand through his dark brown hair as he looked at Casey. He took in the fact that she was still dripping wet, her long dress had started to leave a small puddle on his apartment floor.
"O-okay, first things first you should get into something dry" he said finally. Pushing off the door, he strolled into his bedroom quickly and opened his draws and pulled out a blue shirt.
The soft material in hand Ethan returned to the living-room to find Casey in the same spot he had left her, her attention now on the window and the familiar view of the bay stretched out before them.
"I missed that view" she said softly, keeping her eyes on the window rather than turning to look at the sight of Ethan, shirtless and in grey bottoms that was quite the view itself.
Ethan wordlessly offered her the shirt which she took. To his surprise Casey simply started to take off the straps of her dress, clearly intending to strip off in the middle of the living-room. Ethan was reminded of the time she had done a similar thing in her second year. He coughed lightly at the memory pushing that from his mind.
"Can you help me with the zipper?" Casey asked peering over her shoulder at him.
Ethan nodded and took tentative steps toward her as she turned back around. His long fingers reached out for the zip, he slowly began to drag the zip downwards his finger lightly brushing the soft skin of her back. A fire lit inside him at the light touch of her skin against his.
Once he had unzipped her dress, Casey allowed the material to pool at her feet. Ethan swallowed thickly as he realised she now stood in front of him in nothing but a thin lacy thong and high heels. He couldn't see her face clearly in the reflection but he could make out her mostly exposed chest which was only concealed by her long hair.
Rooted to the spot, Ethan watched helplessly as Casey pulled on his shirt, the material coming down to reach just the top of her thighs. Casey buttoned up the shirt a little but kept enough open to allow Ethan the sight of her chest which she skilfully covered to look innocent enough.
She still had this magnetic effect on him, enough render him nearly senseless. He wanted nothing more than to turn her around and kiss those plush lips enough to bruise them.
Clearing his throat, Ethan with much effort, took a step backwards in attempt to put space between them. He still had no idea what Casey was doing here, and what she wanted from him.
Casey turned around to peer up at Ethan through thick lashes, a small grateful smile graced her face.
"Thanks" she said softly.
Ethan nodded, not trusting his voice. Giving himself a small shake he turned and made his way to the kitchen where he pulled out two glass tumblers and a bottle of whiskey. He poured a generous amount into each glass before he turned around to find Casey had followed him and now stood leaning back against the counter, a few feet away.
"Drink?" he managed to get out in an even tone. Casey nodded and silently took the glass he offered her. She downed a large gulp of the drink, appreciating the burning sensation that trickled down her throat.
"God I needed that" she sighed softly before she took another drink finishing the glass.
"Are you going to explain what the hell is going on?" Ethan finally asked as he took a drink from his own glass, blue eyes still trailed on her face.
Casey scrunched up her nose slightly at the question, Ethan was a little relived at the tell-tale sign that she didn't like the question. Casey put the empty glass down onto the counter next to her. She refused to look at Ethan, instead she opted to look at the counter opposite her.
"I was supposed to get married, and it was an hour before the wedding when I realised I couldn't do it. I couldn't marry him. So I left a note and climbed out of the bathroom and made my way here" she said softly.
Ethan straightened at her words.
"Why? Why come here?"
At this Casey turned her head to look at him, her eyes met his and she straightened up as she gave him a look that almost read that she thought he was stupid.
"Because, I couldn't marry him because I still love you"

Hi there!
I don't know if people will read this or something but I just feel like I should share this in hopes that it helps.
Warning: personal, maybe some triggering circumstances.
Okay, so here it goes....
First off, I just want to point out that not everyone who has anything I mention will feel, act, say/do the things I do, we all handle things different and are each affected in different ways. I'll probably forget things as well.
So, I've been medically diagnosed with anxiety and depression and I also have PTSD. I feel like I want to share this with people in hopes that you can understand or even relate to the way people think and feel.
I guess I should start from somewhere near the beginning... growing up I was mentally and physically abused by my father, when I say physically I just mean that he used to beat me a lot. Anyway, the point is- I had a bad experience and I still get affected by it.
One of the hardest things for me is when I talk to other people, I don't know if it's the same for anyone else but either I canât find the right words to say or I feel like Iâm bothering people when I do speak.
Especially when its a private message. I find that I really want to talk to people and get their opinions but I feel like Iâm annoying them and their just trying to be polite when they answer me back. And even if their telling me that itâs okay and Iâm not being annoying I still have this idea in my mind that their lying and you are being annoying. Itâs the same when I get compliments on my writing, I want them no I NEED to hear that Iâm good and that something I enjoy doing isnât pointless and that there is something to live for.... but again thereâs that voice saying that their lying and itâs rubbish and their being nice.
Itâs a vicious battle believe me.
Everything I do is a constant battle between wanting to be apart of something, to do something, to help and feeling like everything I do is pointless or Iâm making everything ten times worse.
Then there's the memory problems that come with it all, having a list of things you need to do so you make a start, forget what your doing and start something else and are left with half a dozen half finished tasks. Or you completely forget to do something and all this makes your anxiety worse... especially if you have more than one thing to do and you want to do it all.
I have to add that itâs not always like this, sometimes I am able to find some time where I feel... okay, managing for lack of better word and I get excited over little things like a new chapter coming out from something or a new episode, a new piece of writing from someone I follow on this site.
Some days I want to be around other people like my family, I want to talk and be apart of their lives and whatever their doing, and other days I just want to be left alone, sleep or cry all the time.
Iâm not one quick to anger, I usually cry over anything and everything and yet nothing at all. Sometimes I feel everything and yet nothing- a numbness. Itâs everything and nothing. I also get that if someone gives me something, I feel a huge mix of emotions, happy, excited, guilty- guilty because they have taken their own time and effort for me.
And I find that if I did the exact same thing for someone its a different feeling, a different situation because its me doing it for them... itâs like I feel like it should be expected off of me and not of someone else.
And to top it all off you want to talk about how your feeling but then you don't wanna come across like your attention seeking or that you should be over how your feeling.
And the guilt, oh the guilt is terrible and that doesn't go to far away, its always in the back of your mind.
Yeah, so.... anyway talk over. I donât really know the point of this anymore but yeah...

Nothing
AN~ Set in the gap between Bk1 and Bk2 when Ethan is in the Amazon.
Sort of Ethan x Casey Valentine.
Warning: some sexual content.

Night had fallen fast upon Boston, no more than an hour ago the sky had been painted with the hues of red, orange and pink all fading away leaving an inky black canvas with no stars to look up at. The bite of the wind could be felt through the jacket that had been put around Caseyâs shoulders by Bryce.
Since the group had a day off tomorrow they had decided to take a group outing to the local bars, but even though Casey was smiling on the outside, inside she was dying as she tried not to drag her feet.
Caseyâs heart felt heavy as they stepped inside Donahueâs, the last pub of the night. Almost magnetically her eyes roamed the bar, reaching the empty spot at the bar which was usually occupied by Ethan Ramsey, the cause of her heartache.
Ethan had disappeared not long after Caseyâs ethics hearing and all she knew was what everyone else at the hospital did, he was in the Amazon with the World Health Organization fighting an outbreak.
Casey broke apart from the group and headed to the bar, sliding into the seat next to the spot that her eyes had gone to when she first entered. Sienna tired to convince her that a few drinks would help her, cheer her up from the sadness that had overtaken.
But after one too many Casey knew that there was no forgetting the piercing blue eyed attending. There was no forgetting how soft his lips felt, the fire that filled her at his heated touch which set her skin on fire or the way that she had been squirming underneath him as he made her forget her name and see stars as he made her feel like no one else had.
âSame as usual?â Reggieâs voice pulled Casey from her thoughts.
The bar tender stood in front of the young doctor, a small kind smile on his face. He had a small idea that something was going on between this young woman and his friend, but with Ethan in the Amazon it left her broken which he could clearly see.
After all, he could usually find her in the same spot at his bar at the end of her shift. Casey would sit next to the spot Ethan usually occupied and ordered the same drink, whiskey-neat. She would have a few of those before making her way back to her friend group.
"Please" Casey nodded.
Reggie was quick in setting the drink in front of her, watching as she downed the drink with practiced precision, much like Ethan.
"That kind of night, hu?" Reggie asked as he poured her another without her asking.
Reggie usually wasn't one to make conversation with his patrons, they usually preferred to drink with their own friends or in silence. The only real exception to this was Ethan but that was because of how long they had know each other.
"That obvious, huh?" Casey chuckled looking up at the man in front of her for a moment.
Reggie shrugged lightly as he grabbed a wash cloth.
"You wanna talk about it?"
Casey sighed lightly, running her finger over the brim of her glass as she bit her lip for a moment.
"I guess I never realised I cared more for someone than they did for me" she said carefully.
Reggie began wiping down the counter next to her as he considered what to tell her. He knew Ethan did care for her, that much was obvious but he knew that Ethan would be conflicted about his feelings.
"Let me give you a piece of advice; accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be" he told her.
Casey considered Reggie's advice in silence for a long moment before she nodded and downed her drink before she pulled out some money to pay for the drinks.
"Thanks Reggie, you're right" Casey murmured before she got up and left, heading for the door rather than her friends.
Casey decided to take a walk, rather than hang out with her friends more. Pulling her phone from her pocket she looked at the photo she had found on the W.H.O pictagram account.
The photo held a small group of children all smiling, but in the back centre row was the man who haunted her thoughts. Ethan was looking down at one of the young children in the photo, a rare kind smile on his face as the child held up their hands to be picked up.
Casey was filled with a mix of emotions at the sight, she was glad he was doing something so worthwhile and obviously making a huge impact but she couldn't help but feel the ache at the sight of him.
Casey wandered though the quiet streets, not having a particular destination in mind. She flicked off the photo and onto Ethan's contact. Her finger hovered over the call button.
Finding that she had wondered to the park she flopped down onto the grass as she hit the call button. The phone rang, but her mind didn't register it until Ethan's voice came as the voicemail.
"Hi, it's me again." Casey said looking up at the black sky. "I know I've called before but..."
A sob broke from her and she put a hand over he mouth to stop the sound escaping her.
"I just wanted to make sure you're okay, and well...I miss you, I really miss you"
Casey closed her eyes as tears slipped down her cheeks.
"Please Ethan, just let me know you're okay"
Everything else passed in a blur, Casey couldn't remember getting home not until she was in her bed.
Rolling over she buried her face into the other pillow and she inhaled deeply, it smelled faintly like Ethan's cologne. The smell soothed her enough that she fell into a dreamless slumber.
"Please Ethan, just let me know you're okay" the broken plea made Ethan's heart shatter.
With much effort he pulled his phone from his ear and pressed the button to delete the voicemail.
He hated ignoring her and he felt a little ashamed that he had left without a word to Casey. She deserved better.
But he knew that if he had told her, then she would have been able to convince him to say without having to say anything.
And for both their sakes it was better that he said nothing.

Wonderful World.

In the soft white-gold light of the new day, Casey stirred in her bed. The warmth of the sun's rays from the open curtains were usually a welcomed heat, but not today.
Casey whimpered lightly pulling her pillow over her head in attempt to block out the light. A soft knock came at the door and a moment later it opened an inch.
"Casey? You need to get up for work" Sienna called into the room.
Casey moved the pillow from her head and slowly sat up, her mind was hazy and she rubbed her tired eyes.
"W-what time is it?" she rasped out.
"You got about half hour before we head out..." Sienna told her leaning against the doorframe.
Taking in the sight of her best friend, Sienna noted the usual paleness to her face. She frowned lightly, concern filling her.
"You alright?"
"Mmmh" Casey hummed still half asleep, but she couldn't ignore the raw feeling in her throat.
Sienna nodded, still worried but she left her friend in peace to dress.
Casey climbed carefully out of her bed, and pulled on the outfit she had laid out the night before. Once ready she made her way to the living-room where the others were waiting.
"Ready?" Jackie asked as she finished her coffee.
"Sure" Casey said her voice coming out in a horse whisper, she cleared her throat and tried again but still she sounded the same.
"Are you okay?" Aurora asked as the group made their way to the train station.
Casey nodded as she absentmindedly rubbed at her throat in attempt to ease the pain.
By the time she was an hour into her shift, Casey came to the conclusion that it wasn't just simply waking up that hurt her throat, it was the start of a sore throat.
"Dr Valentine, your lab results" Sarah's voice pulled her from her thoughts.
"Thanks" she croaked as she took the file.
"Sounds like you have a sore throat coming, you should head home" Sarah told her.
"I'll be fine" Casey waved a hand in dismissle but the burning sensation painfully reminded her that she wouldn't be.
Trying to rest her voice as much as she could, Casey attempted to try and talk as little as possible. But when your job involves taking to a lot of patients to solve problems, it was nearly impossible.
"Alight I've had enough of watching you put yourself through this pain" Sienna's voice came from behind Casey just after her lunch break.
"I need to work" Casey rasped her voice barley audible.
"I know, so I've come up with a comparison" Sienna told her grabbing her arm lightly and pulled her friend along.
Casey was too tried and in pain to question her small friend, she allowed herself to be dragged through the hospital.
"Here we are" Sienna announce opening a door, puzzled Casey stepped into the room to find most of her friends inside.
Casey turned to Sienna who followed her inside shutting the door behind her. Her friend looked gleeful.
"Okay so tell her your idea Sienna" Elijah called excitedly making the two doctors turn to the group.
"Well, as you're voice is mostly gone and we have finished our patients, we're going to the pediatric ward dressed as fairytale characters"
"You're going to be Ariel, and you'll have this" Jackie said handing Casey a chalkboard.
Casey looked between the board in her hands to her friends, touched by their kindness. Tears welled in her eyes.
"Come on we better get ready" Aurora said quickly spotting her friend about to cry.
"Here, let me" Rafael offered picking up the bags containing the costumes of the group.
After a disastrous ten minutes of the group laughing and attempting to get dressed in the same room, they finally tumbled out of the on-call room dressed in their costumes.
"If anyone speaks about this" Jackie grumbled fixing her crop top of her Princess Jasmine costume.
"I think we look awsome" Elijah grinned from his seat his cowboy hat of his Woody costume was a little big as he pushed it back to look at her.
"Easy for you to say" Bryce grumbled as he adjusted the green tights of his Peter Pan costume.
Sienna linked her arm though Casey's her eyes shone with barley contained excitement.
"The kids are gonna love this" she grinned.
Casey nodded in agreement, and no sooner had the stepped into the small community room, they were greeted with loud squeals of delight, mixed with excited calling of the characters names.
As the group, minus Casey greeted the children in character, one little girl tugged on Casey's dress. Casey carefully crouched down to her height.
"You're pretty" she said shyly, her thumb in her mouth as she spoke.
Casey smiled warmly at the little girl. She motioned towards the chalkboard that was tied around her neck.
I can't talk, the sea-witch stole my voice.
Two tall figures approached and read the sign for their daughter.
A look of horror passed her small face before she looked delighted.
"I know! A true loves kiss will get it back" she cheered excitedly grabbing Casey's hand.
Glancing at the parents, who looked a little confused but hopeful that Casey would play along. Casey nodded and smiled down at the young girl.
"Come on! Let's go!" The girl cheered.
"Emma, be careful and be good for Princess Ariel" the mother called.
To both her embarrassment and delight Casey found herself being paraded around the hospital by the small child who declared to anyone who met them that Casey was looking for a Prince and needed to be kissed.
Many people smiled at the sight, others chuckled amused. Some doctors were stopped by the pair in attempt to get the kiss.
They found themselves on an all too familiar floor, one that held the diagnostics team's office. Emma dragged Casey in that direction.
"That's him!" Emma squealed delighted. Casey looked down before following her gaze where she found a familiar figure.
Ethan was sat in the glass office, blissfully unaware of the events that were transpiring nearby. Emma bounced on the spot before pulling on Casey's arm to get her to move.
The sound of the glass door to the office sliding open caught the attending's attention. Looking up he took in the sight before him.
Casey was out of her usual formal wear and white coat and now wore a white and blue dress with a black corset. He could just make out a large bow peering over the top of her head. She look rather beautiful.
"He's it" a small voice broke his gaze. Glancing down Ethan caught sight of a young girl practically swinging from Casey's arm.
"Sorry?" Ethan asked confusion sweeping over him.
"You have to kiss her, you gotta break the spell" the young girl said in a rush.
Ethan felt the corners of his mouth rise slightly in amusement, especially as he took note of the light blush now adoring Casey's face.
"I suppose if it's to break the spell"
Ethan stood and carefully stepped around his desk. He only needed to take two steps before he was in front of Casey.
He gently cupped her face, his thumb gently sweeping across her cheek before he ducked slightly and lowered his lips to her soft one's.
The kiss was brief as the adults vaguely remembered they had a young audience as Emma cheered. Pulling away Ethan looked into her soft, tired eyes.
"Hi" she whispered.
"Hi" Ethan breathed back.
"You did it!"
The trance was broken as they turned their attention to the small girl. Ethan crouched down to her height as he studied her for a moment.
"You must also be a princess" he hummed as he gently poke her belly making Emma giggle.
"No silly, I'm just a girl"
"Are you sure? Because I think you're exactly what a princess should be" he smiled.
"I pretend to be a princess, not like Ariel" Emma attempted to whisper to Ethan.
The older doctor chuckled.
"Well, I think after breaking the spell and getting Ariel's voice back- we deserve ice-cream"
"Ice-cream? Yay!" Emma cheered running to the door.
Ethan stood back up and dusted himself off, turning his attention to Casey who was looking at him with such a love filled gaze.
"Sienna text me saying you were ill, I figured something cool would help sooth the soreness until we get you home"
Casey smiled and nodded greatfully, linking her arm through Ethan's the pair followed after the bouncing child.
Perhaps having a sore throat wasn't all that bad, especially when she had such a kind and handsome prince to look after her.
