Tiger Teeth

A coat of burning alburn

From birth to fight alone

Solitary and of thick bone

Her teeth and gums gnash

She rips out her teeth, clips her claws, silences herself

The jungle thickens

In this plane of existence, the Valkyrie are but fiction; Valhalla but a dream, and the gods; a lie.

But. Perhpas not.

Perhaps Valkyries are not winged warriors in swan feather coats

Perhaps they are the women who find themselves in the throws of financial issues but refuse to give up, refusing to give into the whims of billionaires who are but a cloaked version of Fafnir.

Perhaps they are the young ladies who despise their image, but know they still have worth. They will not give into Loki's deception

Perhaps they are the gals who find themselves in the throws of depression, anxiety, and mental unwellness, wrestling with it like the beast that is Jörmungandr.

Maybe they do live.

Oh, to be a Valkyrie.
