It feels like this every time I write a fic

characters who dig themselves out of their graves (whether literal or metaphorical) are at the top of the list. nothing beats a character who should have died but didn't and comes back to haunt their own life and the world around them, benevolent or violent it doesn't matter, it's enthralling either way

Imagine, if instead of making Red Hood a crime lord and then vigilante, Jason pursues a singing career. And not just as a regular singer, but someone like Kendrick Lamar, with story-telling songs where he roasts famous people (Batman included) and does the whole theatre play, when he performs on the scene?

i'm really sorry to hear that the fandom has had such a negative effect on you and i really do hope that you will feel better after taking all the time you need.

however, i do wish you'd addressed the problem better. because whether or not you meant it (and let's be honest, i doubt anyone willingly plagiarises anyone), the thing is, that your actions have hurt others. and to brush them all under the rug like it's nothing, saying that you had no idea similar scenes even exist is a awful thing to do. especially when we do know that you've both said that lighting is one of the writers you admire the most and that you take inspiration from other writers. you've even credited her work as a inspiration for at least once (for "words can't amount to the past interwoven between us, and maybe that's okay").

the fact that you're trying to make this seem like such a far fetched thing is hurtful, and the way people are making lighting seem like the villain for speaking out because she felt like her work had been copied multiple times is horrible.

all in all, i really do wish the best for you, i wouldn't wish for anyone to continue engaging with something that is hurting their mental health, but at the same time, i do wish you'd address the situation better and would apologize for your actions, intentional or not, cause they have hurt others as well.

hi. i don’t know what else i’m supposed to say right now if i’m being honest. i came into this fandom because i thought this was going to be a fun place for me with how intriguing thiam was to me when i watched the show, but it isn’t anymore. all you have is my word when i say that i didn't copy that fic, which is clearly not enough. but i swear, i’m being 100% honest when i say that i had no intention of copying anyone or anything, and that i had no knowledge of similar scenes when writing my fics and that they were solely a way for me to explore parallels and ideas that struck me. plagiarism is not something i condone, and the fact that i’m being accused of it is honestly taking a major toll on me. but either way, whether you believe me or not, i’m truly sorry for anyone that i’ve hurt.

and it’s been a fun time here, but my mental health has deteriorated immensely over the last few months as a result of fandom, and i don’t think i can stay anymore, because it's taking a huge toll on my responsibilities and my life. to those of you that have continued to support me from the beginning, thank you and just know that i’m so grateful for you. bye <333
