Stefan Bishop for Luxe

My photographs of furniture designer Stefan Bishop Art & Design are in the latest issue of LUXE Interiors + Design. Stefan designs and creates beautiful bronze tables which are inspired by the shapes of puddles. He also has a line made of wood, which he blackens with a torch and waxes to show off the rings.

Blockshop for Luxe 

I photographed the sister team behind Blockshop- Lily and Hopie Stockman. They have a line of beautiful hand blocked scarves, pillows, and linens. I had a great time getting to know these lovely and creative ladies and learning about their process.

Luxe Interiors and Design

I had the pleasure of photographing three very talented and lovely people for for the current issue of Luxe. Interior designer Jeremiah Brent and artist Lana Gomez created inspiration boards and interior designer Helene Aumont welcomed me at her beautiful Santa Ynez home to shoot a portrait of her.

Inspired by James Turrell

I finally made it over to LACMA to see the James Turrell show. I've long been a fan of Turrell's skyspaces and have been fortunate enough to see several of them. The LACMA show features fifty years of Turrell's light and space explorations including his geometric light projections, two dimensional holograms, and light installations, which explore perception. It is a fantastic show and I left feeling inspired. When I arrived home later that day, our neighbor's house had been tented for fumigation. The tent was striped in orange and blue and the end of the day light hit it at just the right angle and reflected the color onto our wall and ceiling. It looked like a Turrell, the colored light flattening the three dimensional space into two. In a matter of days the tent was gone and the walls were white again, but I am left with a new way of seeing my own space.
