I admire the math effort (arghghghghghghgh) but I disagree that eurylochus, by opening the bag of winds, killed 550 men.

I EXPLAIN.

if these 550 men were killed by poseidon, it's because ulysse cut out his son's eyes.

By opening the bag, Eurylochus led them to the sea god's lair. Otherwise, they would have reached Ithaca. But the question is, “would they have been safe there?” ABSOLUTELY NOT MDRRRRR

In get in the water, Poseidon says “Or i will raise the tides to hight all of ithaca will die”.

Poseidon has ulysse's address (which he doxed all by himself, thank you very much). He would have found it at some point. The only change is that ulysse wouldn't have been able to flee. His entire island would have been taken hostage, razed to the ground by the power of the waves, or by an earthquake.

My point is that eurylochus, by opening the windbag, changed nothing. NOTHING. The scenario has changed, of course, but there would have been deaths anyway.

the 550 are ody's falt. He doxxed himself. He got poseidon's revenge on his crew. But he would have been entitled to the same formula at ithaca.

My hyperfixation for Epic: The Musical is so bad, that my brain finally decided to know what fucking math was for a small rant when Eurylochus said "Tell me you didn't just sacrifice 6 of our men!?"
