I began work on Life After Latte two months ago, and I haven't worked on such an expansive project for myself in many years. It's really left me with a renewed excitement for why I wanted to get into a creative career path in the first place. Here's the first concept page; not finalized yet, part of the fun with design is that nothing has to be set in stone (well, at least for a project that's done on my own time and dime haha). And if you're interested, a little bit more info about this project:

Life After Latte is a concept for a visual novel café game about life, death, and the space in-between. Patrons arrive at 'The Last Drop', a cozy witch themed café. They are wandering souls- drawn there by lingering memories, regrets, and tethered emotions holding them back from moving on. Running the café is a curious young Witch who guides people through their final journey. She imbues specialty dishes with magical ingredients derived from the memories imparted to her during conversation with each individual that enters the shop- after all, not everyone is left wandering for the same reasons. These recipes are crafted specially for each customer, allowing them to make peace with their own life and death and prepares their souls for passage into the after life. By serving up these final meals, the Witch unlocks her own memories from former lives, revealing to both herself and the player how and why it was that she wound up running this small café at the edge of the world.

I've been doing so much drawing recently, I felt like I needed to shift gears and reset my creative brain. I find that switching back and forth between line and shape is always effective for me in helping to reset! Especially when I have things to complete, a little time for myself always makes me feel more on task to hit deadlines. I'm one of those people who will always have a need to create both professionally and personally, so it's always a delicate balance of making sure not to overdo it in either area. What about you? Do you find yourself satisfied just hitting deadlines in your career space, then recharge with unrelated hobbies? Or do you also tend to have a need to stay creative visually even when you're looking to wind down and recharge?

Anyways, feeling moody, feeling tired. Feeling this. Seems like every year things are changing around me in ways that I can't keep up with. I'm a bit tired, I think haha!
