So because I took a lot of college credits in high school, I ended up starting university as a junior and enrolled in a lot of high level classes and 17 bc of late birthday shenanigans.

Last semester I’m this very specific elective for a minor and im one of like 2 freshmen on the 30 person roster, and almost surely the youngest there.

So my professor, pretty young guy I was guessing around early 30s starts asking us if we remembered the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 or if we were too young. Most of the class remembers seeing it on the news and I (who was about to present so I was standing at the front) said “I-I.. was 4 years old then.”

The professor slowly looks up at me, a mix between utter bafflement and mild disgust on his face. “I got my MASTERS that year.” Then, under his breath, “jesus Christ.”

Ive started to realize I live for his feeling. I love watching the look in peoples’ eyes as my youthfulness briefly makes them ponder their whole existence as my timeline is so wildly different from theirs that they cannot fully grasp it. I want to make them think of their parents and grandparents growing up telling them about a “back in my day” that was inconceivable to their little minds and realize that their childhoods have become that for another generation.

(Surely this will never end with me reaping what I sow as I experience the butt end of this one day)

Something I’ve realized is that Will Hunting was 100% in the right when he yelled at Sean for missing that World Series game.

I tried to have my “I gotta go see about a girl” moment last fall. It was the peak of college football season, and I was also starting to kinda see this person.

We were supposed to hang out Friday night and the following evening, I was gonna go to my school’s football game, where we were playing one of the best teams in the country.

However, we ended up drinking some so I crashed on their couch bc I couldn’t drive home. The next morning, I end up deciding that I’d rather stay at their place, and we hung out for a second day in the row and I skipped the game.

Saturday night, I get back to my own place just in time to see that my team won the game and fans stormed the fields. For me, that was a big deal. It has always been my dream to storm a field after a major upset, especially for the team I had rooted for since childhood. But I chalk it up to I was doing something better. I was “seeing about a girl.”

A month later, I stopped seeing that person because while I thought we were dating and could be long-term, they thought that we were really good friends. Not only did I had to deal with that breakup, which took me almost all of the school year, but I missed out on a major bucket list event for them.

Sometimes, it’s more important to care about “what is” rather than “what could be.” I let an opportunity slip right out of my fingers because I was trying to look too far ahead into life. Keep your tickets, go to the game.

What the hell is up with the horse race tests? All the fan art I’ve seen of them is happy (and lesbian which double bonus) but from what I’ve gathered the horses are in danger? Are they killing the horses?

I was about to say it’s crazy that they kill the horses when they lose but I’m pretty sure they do that in real life too so who the fuck knows
