to clarify i’m not really saying that this makes it better or worse. like, at the end of the day hetalia is just a comedy with a buncha lil short comedic drabbles about history and whether or not it actually succeeds in what it’s trying to do is up to you. i just think this is funny

love love love how i’ve seen the hetalia fandom and some of it is, like, deep and introspective fics about the obvious dubious morality of the characters, the pain and anguish that probably comes with living forever and being forced to watch all of the people around you die along with the nations being forced to throw away their humanity due to their status. like abandonment issues and discussions about how the nations are never truly going to be free from their burden. not to mention absolutely beautiful fanart and cool fan games with a lot of work put into them like hetaoni and dreamtalia and then actual canon hetalia is. like. no no no guys the joke is that italy REALLY likes pasta
