in the roegadyn tongue, her name translates to Amber Water, Daughter of a Horrible Ship.

Her dads chose that last name because they were captain and first mate of a beat-up awful pirate ship full of misogynist bros, which they had raised into a formidable pirate ship from next to nothing and she chose her first name for herself at age 16 on the day she ran away from that ship and came out as a trans lesbian, because as she looked to the horizon away from her horrid home, the sunrise striking the ocean turned it a gorgeous and hopeful shade of amber
