for that ask game: 25, 24, 20 and 7 (except u cant answer mcqueen /silly)
25. What size canvas/paper do you use?
my baseline is 5000x5000 pixels, 300dpi, and adobeRGB 1998 color profile. i zoom in to 100% for accuracy and rove around the canvas from there, cropping or expanding if needed. (several finished drawings per canvas)
24. Whats a compliment about your art that has always stuck with you?
i really like the time i posted a sith!anakin AU (raised by sith instead of jedi) drawing and two blogs id never seen before started roleplaying under it in a long ass reblog chain shipping him with darth maul or something idr, it should have been in their DMs type thing. i blocked them both but it was funny. right in front of my salad... ok uhhh thinking. must remember. actual compliments a frequent one is 'HOW DID YOU DRAW THAT SO FAST' which i take pride in. makes me go >:3 one of my goals is to have a very tight process for more ideas more faster (life busy!!) so i like that compliment. i worked hard for that one XD. i also get 'i love your colors!!' a lot which is good because ive been working on color theory sloooowly across time, still learning a lot. i also get 'dynamic' a good amount (again, another rough goal), and 'in-character' for both art and writing, which is funny to me for reasons im too tired to figure out rn. /pos im too adhd brained to remember anything thats far back that deeply stuck with me or whatever, but in the past year a lot of you guys have said some truly heartwarming things. i dont share my stuff for praise, i just like the tumblr/ao3 archive + tag system, but people really do say some niceys brainworms /pos
20. Is your workspace, digital or not, organized (not neat, organized)?
(current workspace is digital) ...its organized chaos. it USED to be normal-organized but then i downloaded every single free brush under the sun in an attempt to satisfy the part of me that wants to Go Shopping. so now i have like 18 custom subcategories of brushes that i dont use. but i do have a specific custom workspace yes. with lots of custom hotkeys. my left hand is Typing i also made my own custom auto-action that sets up my basic layers for me, workspace presets, custom brushes, and custom presets. so if you look past the 3500 brushes then yes, very organized......
7. Easiest thing for you to draw? [that isnt LMQ slash sillayy]
mcqueen is actually not the easiest thing for me to draw!! overall i have around 3 years experience in total of drawing the cars. comparatively... i have 22 years experience of drawing horses. i can rotate a horse in my mind to a degree that frightens me. i would like for cats, humans, cars, and landscape scenery to become more rotational please!! <- needs 20 more years in some cases <- oh god?? <- i will report back on my cars when i am 47 i guess /lh
Thanks for the ask!

13. Talk about a wip you like!
here's a snippet of a rare WIP:
it's a planes fire and rescue + cars crossover comic haha. i wound up plotting so much of it out with one of my writing partners that it became a fic wip too. i really enjoy how far i bent lightning in this image and his exaggerated shocked face XD and i enjoy the black fill shadows. there are 9 other sketched panels so far. mr. dramatic is great for expression practice!
Thanks for the ask!

16. How do you motivate yourself to draw?
sadly i havent cracked the code on this one yet /lh a more serious answer: usually i say i follow my whimsy, but ive been spending some time thinking about actual constructive ways to be disciplined. ive always been sort of a leisurely, meandering artist, but art block is still frustrating. a necessary evil, but id like to deal with it as little as possible thank you. warmups help. both the drawing exercise part of it and the physical body stretching parts of it. stopping every few hours and doing More stretches is also good <- sounds obvious but once youre in flowstate, time can pass without you noticing. experimentation. sometimes a new tool can give you ideas. also applying different techniques- lately ive been playing with oil underpainting in digital. rotating cast of characters. sometimes the blorbo of the year doesnt hit and you need a palette cleanser. draw whoever (or whatever) your brain is trying to chew on. design an entire OC and never draw them again. theres no rules. reference sheets and studies. if you chew on a character enough, that confidence and familiarity can be motivating. you can focus on other parts of the drawing if you already understand the forms of the subject. learning is very motivating. frequently i dip into speedpaints or lesson videos to see what is Possible. even if my goal isnt to become some super-artist, considering new techniques can open doors. physical health. exercise and a balanced diet will keep you motivated. ignore social media. the modern internet is designed to be a time-sink. time is valuable currency; spend it on yourself. all of this isnt really all motivation per se, but they are ways to set yourself up for success, whiiich is also motivating haha. oh yeah another way i remembered: streaming. i used to stream to twitch and picarto, but nowadays i Sometimes stream to discord. requires a bit of a social element tho, but the expectation Can be motivating under the right circumstances. people want to see that ink fly across the page, what are you dallying for? and snap, youre in the zone. i also like to follow a feeling. i want to giggle and draw stupid expressions? push the line of suspension of disbelief? document a storyboard? make something pretentious and indulgent? see something so, so specific? this one takes a skill threshold ive got to say. the more you practice, the larger your recipe book to feed yourself with your own art becomes. put what you want to see into the world! i want to see mcqueens. so i put more mcqueens in the world. honestly tho the big one is 'draw your favorite thing.' combine many things for bonus fun. which is how we wind up with 3,498 pictures of sparkly lightning mcqueen covered in blood with pine trees in the background or something. hell yeah brother. and: if you drew it once, you can do it again. very motivating to remember what you can be capable of. ...not entirely sure i answered this correctly bc i was just up all night drawing but hopefully some sense is in there lol?? certain i forgot something also but maybe ill remember tomorrow
34. Whats something you still like from your old art?
plenty actually!! over the years ive both improved and regressed in many areas. in terms of my old tumblr art, i love the simple shapes and huge eyeballs of this style phase:

the suuuper thin limbs was actually a hard-reversal/rejection of the marvel comics superhero bodies id started off drawing humans by learning from LMAO dont recommend that
I also miss my Disney Infinity Inspired style:

+my ink-on-paper-only phase
and one more that always makes me grin:

horse wolverine blowing up SHEILD and skydiving away. horse wolverine. wolverine as a horse. you really can draw anything.
i love the craaazy flowing manes/tails/feathering i used to put on EVERY character. you want to learn about Movement? draw horse manes LOL. ...and read comics <- DONT
Thanks for the ask!

looking up nascar stock car stats is so annoying bc
-the carbuilders are all Secretive ... but then this info is not released Later, after a car generation is retired. its all sort of bits and bobs and inference across interviews across time, and then most of it is dumbed down and detail is lost. -the technology changes by generation (g7's are the most egregiously different, but info on them is easier to find because theyre the current gen, but theyre not ever what im looking for) -all the info on the g4's is from like. scans of black and white magazines (BLACK AND WHITE PRINT) or forums from 2003 that someone is still paying the domain bill on, then which you have to find an actual source for rickthecorvettedaddy94 saying 'trust me bro' -link rot.
