The smell of the kitchen above the living area of the shop is warm: comforting, with eggs cooking with a pleasant mix of Spices, pumpkin bread, and tomatoes. The sun shines bright over the mid-morning bustle of Vesuvia down below on the ground floor; around the closed shop, while you make some breakfast for the both of you with Lapsang Souchong steeping to the side...

A warm pair of hands rest themselves on your hips; a chin on your shoulder, a tired presence and a content smile on his lips as you feel his eyes admiring you.

Your cooking; your hands working gently over the ingredients as you add the freshly chopped herbs into the dish. Shakshouka, maybe? His lips press against the crook between your neck and shoulder; Faust curiously watches alongside him.

The sound of his laughter ringing in your ears as he watches you get flustered from the attention making your heart race, as the two of you start the new day with smiles, laughter, and good food.

Grayson or Jameson Hawthorne?

Right, little rant here because I think this is important and I'm currently raging over Emily Laughlin.

Grayson Hawthorne wouldn't have ended up with Avery. Am I sad about that? Yes. Do I understand why? Also yes.

When talking about Jameson and Grayson's POV in all of TIG and hearing their experiences with Emily Laughlin (including TBH) it's really quite interesting, because when looking at their interactions with her in TBH it's clear that Emily wanted Grayson over Jameson but only went for Jamie first because Grayson was still a bit more hesitant out of the two.

Grayson Loved Emily. It's said in almost (if not every) book, Jameson did as well, sure. But he understood between the two's interaction with her that Emily wanted Grayson more which is why he could move on easier than his Brother.

(TBH spoilers)

One reason I think the bias between the two is because of what Tobias said to Jameson with him being considered Ordinary compared to his Brothers which is Exactly what I believe Emily thought of him compared to Grayson. The key difference between the two is:

Jameson fell in Love with Avery while finding out how different she was to Emily (in not finding him Ordinary and seeing him for who he was).

Whereas I believe that Grayson fell him love with her because of that fact. His guilty conscience made him almost regret falling in love with her because he was Emily's first choice and he didn't want Jameson to be the second again.

So although I'm a Grayson girl at heart, I understand and agree with Avery ending up with Jameson in the books.

Do you ever think about how many times he's had to hold back tears passing by the cliff? How many places he's avoided that reminded him of Emily Laughlin? How many times his throat closed up, tears pricked his eyes; his lips unintentionally quivered with every photo in his Camera that he sees of her? How many possible friendships he could have had that she inadvertently ruined? Even if he wasn't in the business of making friends, it could have been the earlier start of his own emotional wellbeing getting healed- like my heart hurts.
