there’s a misconception that grief only happens when we lose people. this is not true. we can grieve circumstances, relationships, missed opportunities. in fact, sometimes when you find yourself plagued with waves of emotion from sadness to melancholy you may be grieving yourself. the version of yourself that you might have been if things had been different, or if only you had said something, or if someone had stood up for you.

I’ve finished reading Die Leiden Des Jungen Werther.

Even though I knew what was going to happen: The build on the despair, the sadness, the last tragic love scene, Werther’s death and his letters in general… It was moving, and it really made me deprimated with him.

I say, this is a must-read for classic lit lovers who are willing to confront themselves with the hard topic. I can fully understand the novel‘s huge success and loved reading it, even though it was wrenching my heart.

Ich liebe dieses Bild aufgrund seiner relativ akkuraten und detaillierten Darstellung der einzelnen Leute, und wie ihre Blicke auf Schiller quasi ihre Beziehung/Haltung zu ihm beschreiben.

Aber ich liebe es auch, weil Schiller hier genauso gut ein Foto von der Gesellschaft machen könnte.

The Sandman was some very good stuff, I will definitely read more from Hoffmann.

Smthng smthng smthng the sandman steals nathaniels eyes metaphorically by making him unable to see things as they are when he looks through the spyglass he bought which was refered to as a pretty eye- thus doing what he supposedly does to children still awake after they should be sleeping, which is how nathaniel discovered coppelius was the sandman in the first place

@theancientvaleofsoulmaking Even though barely having time, I managed to make this while sitting in a long train ride, so I caught at least one prompt for the challenge :)

I love the result, and I had lots of fun drawing it!

Thanks to you and your challenge for motivating me to finish this piece that was sleeping as a sketch in my iPad for months!
