a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted

their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"

I decided to restart my pixel horse game in godot but that means i need to make all the assets for it and heres the progress i made on the starter horse so far the outline (i think its the standard mv size) is where i started in july and the coloured one (its 64x64) is where i am so far, the sprite is far from finished but i like the progress so far

also made a grass tileset thats unfinished as well

Mini-ish rant a head about old computers

When a program gets updated and only semi works after that because the laptop is from 2011 and wont update past 2015

More context godot got updated and now it wont test play my game, only allows me to do stuff outside of game testing which isnt helpful as i need to test as i go cause i'm a baby newb at coding it doesnt quite comput with my brain yet

I desperately need a new computer as my old laptop that i had for like 4-5 years quit randomly so i'm stuck with the dinosaur laptop till i can afford a new one though it's testing my patience as it only has 4 gigs of ram... its definitely showing its age as its slowing down, programs glitch that havent done so before, and some just refuse to start because the devs updated the program past what the computer is able to handle

I made a few changes to Black Forest Riding Academy since the last post

I added a garden to the caretakers house, plus i made an actual garden that the player will be able to grow things (the events still need to be set up) those are the two major changes to the map now onto the others i made

those two look like the same map at first glance but their actually the first and second floor to the manor i just made the hallways and will make the rooms their own individual maps because the maps would have became to big otherwise those maps are actually 63x27 and they took me forever to finish as wasn't happy with them at first and tried a few different things but it payed off in the end i hope

The Caretakers house i should really call him the grounds keeper anyways a very simple and small house i dont think he needs much

The Stablehands bunk house not very happy with how this one turned out but it'll do for now

now last map for today the main stable this is probably the worst map as with rpg maker restrictions (mostly tileset though) i couldnt do exactly what i wanted but i made do with what i had

I err uhh remade and seriously revamped Black Forest Riding Academy i might add a few things still like a garden or a stable hand house above the stable (the t-shaped building near the well) and maybe a little gathering area near the trail riding area (the dirt path leading upwards at the top of the map) though i did add a covered style of arena (the two tile high wood building near the barn) and the two buildings that are one tile high that currently dont have use in mind besides one being a breeding stable (in theory i have no idea how to do breeding right now besides a plugin as i'd want to do something pretty specific and coding i cannot understand for the life of me) or a stable hand house though i guess i could take the caretakers house below the manor at the bottom of the cliff and make that one a bunk house

Though this version of Black Forest Riding Academy differs from the original i think this one looks a lot better as it doesnt have a lot of wasted space and looks more thought out i think

Well i downloaded EA Desktop because Origin doesnt like working and it didnt download all my sims 3 packs i figured out how to fix that though i still have sims 3 downloaded for origin and i just copy and pasted it from the old install place to the new one

I dont know anything about game installs but i think it should work for other games as well

This is suppose to be a rundown riding school called Black Forest Riding Academy unfortunately I didn't back up the project... and it (the project)somehow corrupted...

now I might recreate this but probably not it took me a long while to get the map the way I wanted it and I actually cant remember the size the map was I put in using the parallax option in another project but it didn't show up correctly

For this surprise tag I will be using the main protagonist from Storm Stryker, The Fiery Rider and The Quiet Dragon, as well as a two-shot called The sick Demon that I’m still planning on making a whole story based around them (spoiler none of the books I’ll be using are finished besides the two-shot),
