I knew there were similarities throughout TID (Will, Will is that you? Tessa, Tessa, is that you?) and I’ve heard of the TID/TDA ones being similar, but I didn’t realize that this happened in every series.

Honestly tho

I wouldn’t be surprised if Emma was a Herondale though. I dunno, but just like the snarkiness and the sarcasm and the fighting skills- like I wouldn’t be shook if Cassie’s just like “Guess what! You’re a Herondale!”

This is a joke, by the way. I don’t actually think this. It’s also probably not possible in some way because I’m too lazy to look at the family trees.

Actually that’s a reoccurring theme in Cassie’s books. I’m tempted to write a book report on this now. “Shadowhunters has many complex themes that evoke deep emotion in the reader, the most prevalent of these themes being the “you’re a Herondale!” theme. This theme can be found in many of Cassandra Clare’s characters, including Jace WaylandMorgensternLightwoodHerondale, Kit RookHerondale, and EmmaCarstairsHerondale. Another theme, also demonstrated by these characters, is the theme of way too many last names.
