A king who doesn't really want to and isn't able to run the kingdom properly catches wind of a noble woman who wants to kill him to take over and he realizes she is extremely competent so he decides to propose to her to save everyone the hassle and they have a surprisingly healthy relationship.

In love with these designs, the attention to detail is spectacular and in some cases really fits more to the character than I think the canonical design does. Thank you for making these.

Hazbin Hotel Heavenbound AU Masterpost

I've been spinning around this AU in my head for awhile. I like the general concept of Hazbin Hotel, particularly the concept of redeeming sinners. But there are just some details that I felt could be better. So I'll be calling my redesigns/rewrite concepts "Heavenbound", to differentiate from canon.

It's not a totally cohesive AU, I'm just altering some things to fit my preferences. I'm not sure how far I'll take this, but I wanted to make a masterpost for organizations sake.

I know for sure there will be design changes. I may vary how closely I follow canon vs rewrite. And I may use it to play with different headcanons or rewrite ideas. There will be limited influence from Helluva Boss, because I have less interest in that.

PSA-- There will be mentions of some canon-typical content such as violence, drugs, sexual references, etc (tbh, I'll probably be more mild than canon). I am not including many content warnings beyond basics. If you are a fan of the show, then this stuff should be expected and shouldn't be a surprise. If anything happens to get particularly extreme(doubtful), then I might include some warning.

This will be updated as needed.

From Chapter 57 of @contumacious-arcadia's fic, What a Soul Can Accomplish! Go read it. It's such a fantastic slow burn and I am always intrigued by sci-fi mystery elements lol. Here's the scene the art is based on:

"The Overlord is staring down into the package, one massive claw clasped over his mouth in shock.  He seems to be… glitching?  It’s a strange sight, and though Lucifer’s ability to read him grows more skilled with each passing day - he has no idea how to take this reaction.  Alastor is stock-still, completely unmoving.  He isn’t sure the Overlord is even breathing.  His static aura is fluctuating wildly and the room has darkened so much that it almost seems like the little seating area suddenly exists within some otherworldly void.  

He unconsciously braces before he realizes that Alastor isn’t transforming, at all.  

This isn’t rage.

All he can think to do is wait, and so that’s exactly what he does. " 

Confession time, I actually have another scene in this same fic sketched out, and I was working on it when I read this scene instead and then I couldn't get this image out of my head. It demanded to be drawn first, I guess. And I gave the seating area Al's fireplace. Idk if that was accurate, but it made for some fun lighting lol (and honestly the newspaper clipping was fun to draw too). Thank you to Contumacious Arcadia for such a compelling well-written story!! Radioapple aside, the plot has me completely hooked and I always stop what I'm doing whenever I see there's a new chapter out. This is currently my favorite fic, and I really hope to make more art for it soon :) I hope you enjoy this one in the meantime.

Vaggie: Chapter 24.

Charlie: Did anyone read it?

[There’s a chorus of “no’s” around the room]

Charlie: Perfect!

Cherri Bomb: No you won’t.

Vox: [Gets down on one knee, pulling an engagement ring out of his pocket] Will you marry me?

Alastor, still walking: Mm, no.

Lucifer, loudly calling up the stairs: Alastor! I never knew Vox was considered your rival!

Alastor, casually appearing from the shadows: Oh, is he? I hadn’t considered him at all!

Lucifer, gesticulating wildly at a now glitching Vox: Clearly!

Vox is convinced that Luce's whole 'I don't do TV' is because of Al. He's determined to break it, to prove to Alastor and the whole ring that he's better. But, as we know, it's not. So this does not go over well. Vox shows up and Lucifer is polite to him, in his normal friendly but awkward way. Everyone else is shocked that he's getting along so well with a guy his mellowfriend* hates. This is because Al hasn't bothered to tell him about Vox because Vox is just, not important to him. but eventually, Lucifer gets tired of playing nice and snaps. Like, what is your deal? I just don't watch TV, it's not a personal attack.

Vox snaps that it is very much so because of Alastor. Lucifer just stares at him and is like '??? What does he have anything to do with this?' Husk, who's at the bar watching this whole thing, tiredly explains what's up to the king.

Who immediately turns and walks up the stairs; yelling for Alastor to get down here and explain why he didn't explain he had a rival. Vox is left standing there, mouth open as he realizes that Alastor hadn't even told Lucifer about him.
